Raven Career Highlights

In The Beginning:

  • Scott Levy studied criminal justice at the University of Delaware and originally wanted to be a lawyer.
  • Scott Levy broke into the wrestling business wrestling in the Northwest as “Scotty the Body”.

Memphis Wrestling:

  • February 20, 1988: Scott Levy started working in Memphis for Jerry Lawler’s promotion.
  • Scott Levy was involved in an angle where Missy Hyatt would go out with him if he beat Jerry Lawler.
  • ~~~Scott Levy ended up losing to Jerry Lawler and not getting a date with Missy Hyatt.

Florida Wrestling:

  • 1988: Scott Levy wrestled as “Scotty the Body” in Florida.
  • Scott Levy got the chance to do some commentary along with Gordon Solie.
  • Scott Levy was hesitant towards jobbing to Stevie Keirn
  • ~~~Shorty after Scott Levy left the territory.

Vancouver Wrestling:

  • Scott Levy was doing well in Vancouver which caused Promoter Al Tomko to try and sabotage his push.
  • ~~~This was due to Levy stealing the spotlight from Tomko’s sons, who were supposed to be the stars.
  • ~~~Scott Levy, who was a face at the time, was told to dropkick the referee for no reason.
  • ~~~Scott Levy was told he might not be used because some girl reported that he assaulted him.
  • ~~~This was eventually proven false when lawyers got involved.

Portland Wrestling:

  • Scott Levy got hired when Roddy Piper found out he was a heel announcer with Gordon Solie in Florida.
  • July 8, 1989: Scotty the Body and Top Gun (David Sierra) won the Pacific Northwest Tag Team titles.
  • July 22, 1989: Scotty the Body split away from Top Gun so the the Pacific Northwest Tag Team titles were vacated.
  • August 8, 1989: Scotty the Body and The Grappler (Len Deaton) won the Pacific Northwest Tag Team titles.
  • September 2, 1989: Scotty the Body defeated Carl Styles for the vacant Pacific Northwest Heavyweight title.
  • October 14, 1989: Scotty the Body defeated Rex King for the Pacific Northwest Heavyweight title.
  • March 17, 1990: Scotty the Body defeated Ricky Santana to become the final Pacific Northwest Television champion.
  • June 2, 1990: Scotty the Body defeated The Grappler for the Pacific Northwest Heavyweight title.
  • December 3, 1990: Scotty the Body and Steve Doll won the Pacific Northwest Tag Team titles.
  • Scotty the Body brought in his real life drug dealer, Ginger, as his valet.
  • Scotty the Body lost Ginger to Steve Doll during their feud.
  • Scotty the Body then got another valet named Veronica.
  • Scotty the Body won Ginger back, but she didn’t want to go back to him.
  • Scotty did lots of things to try to get her back like flowers, candy, teddy bear, plane tickets to Cancun, etc.
  • ~~~Eventually he asked her to marry him to which she said yes!
  • Scotty the Body tricked Ginger as he didn’t intend on marrying her which added onto his feud with Steve Doll.

Global Wrestling Federation:

  • 1991: Scotty the Body left the Pacific Northwest for the Global Wrestling Federation where he was renamed Scott Anthony.
  • Scott Anthony was a member of The Cartel along with Cactus Jack, Mukhan Singh and Rip Rogers.
  • July 26, 1991 – GWF: Scott Anthony and Rip Rogers defeated Steven Dane and Handsome Stranger (Marcus Bagwell).
  • July 27, 1991 – GWF: Steve Simpson and Chris Walker defeated Scott Anthony and Rip Rogers to win the first GWF Tag Team Titles.
  • August 2, 1991 – GWF: Scotty Anthony defeated Chaz.
  • August 9, 1991 – GWF: Austin Idol defeated Scott Anthony.
  • August 10, 1991 – GWF: Scott Anthony defeated Rick Garren.
  • August 30, 1991 – GWF: Scott Anthony defeated Billy Travis.
  • September 6, 1991 – GWF: Scott Anthony defeated El Grande Colosso.
  • September 13, 1991 – GWF: Scott Anthony defeated Al Perez.
  • September 15, 1991 – GWF: Scott Anthony defeated Al Perez.
  • October 4, 1991 – GWF: Scott Anthony defeated Rick Garren.

  • February 7, 1992 – GWF: Scott Anthony defeated Gary Young.

World Championship Wrestling:

  • April 17, 1992 – Worldwide: Scotty Flamingo defeated Joey Maggs.
  • May 1, 1992 – Worldwide: Johnny B. Badd defeated Scotty Flamingo.
  • At first, booker Dusty Rhodes was hesitant towards using Scott Levy due to knowing him from his Florida days.
  • ~~~However, Diamond Dallas Page was able to convince Dusty Rhodes to give Scott Levy a tryout match.
  • ~~~Scott Levy had his tryout match and was told by Eric Bischoff it was the best tryout match he had seen up to that point.
  • He signed with WCW and wrestled in the light-heavyweight division as “Scotty Flamingo”, managed by Diamond Dallas Page.
  • May 17, 1992 – Wrestle War: Scotty Flamingo defeated Marcus Alexander Bagwell.
  • June 20, 1992 – Beach Blast: Scotty Flamingo defeated Brian Pillman to win the WCW Light Heavyweight title.
  • ~~~After the match, many other wrestlers lined up in the back to praise the quality of the match.
  • June 26, 1992 – Worldwide: WCW light heavyweight champion Scotty Flamingo defeated Scott Sandlin to retain the title.
  • July 5, 1992: Brad Armstrong defeated Scotty Flamingo to win the WCW Light Heavyweight title.
  • New WCW booker Bill Watts wasn’t as impressed with Scott Levy as Dusty Rhodes and Eric Bischoff so his push was deflated.
  • August 2, 1992 – Worldwide: Scotty Flamingo defeated Ricky Tango.
  • September 15, 1992 – Worldwide: Shane Douglas defeated Scotty Flamingo.
  • September 26, 1992 – Worldwide: Shane Douglas defeated Scotty Flamingo.
  • November 7, 1992 – Worldwide: NWA world heavyweight champion Masahiro Chono defeated Scotty Flamingo to retain the title.
  • November 18, 1992 – Clash of Champions #21: Scotty Flamingo defeated Johnny B Badd via Knock Out in a boxing match.
  • November 28, 1992 – Worldwide: Brad Armstrong defeated Scotty Flamingo by disqualification.
  • January 11, 1993 – Saturday Night: Johnny B. Badd and Marcus Alexander Bagwell defeated Scotty Flamingo and Bob Cook.
  • January 13, 1993 – Clash of Champions #22: Too Cold Scorpio defeated Scotty Flamingo.
  • January 25, 1993 – Saturday Night: Eric Watts and Marcus Alexander Bagwell defeated Steve Flamingo and Rip Rogers.
  • February 2, 1993 – Saturday Night: Marcus Alexander Bagwell, Steve Regal and Too Cold Scorpio defeated Scotty Flamingo, Shangai Pierce and Tex Slazenger.
  • February 13, 1993 – Worldwide: Robbie V defeated Scotty Flamingo.

United States Wrestling Association:

  • Scott Levy was signed by the WWF, but sent down to the USWA until they had something for him.
  • Scotty The Body formed a team team with Brian Christopher, a team that would win the USWA Tag Team titles!
  • March 22, 1993: Scotty Flamingo and Brian Christopher defeated The Moondogs (Spot and Splat) for the USWA Tag Team titles.

World Wrestling Federation:

  • Scott Levy was called up to the WWF and became known as “Johnny Polo”, and managed The Quebecers and Adam Bomb.
  • September 6, 1993 – RAW: Adam Bomb w/Johnny Polo defeated Virgil.
  • ~~~The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre w/Johnny Polo) defeated Duane Gill and Barry Hardy.
  • September 13, 1993 – RAW: The Quebecers w/Johnny Polo defeated The Steiner Brothers by disqualification to win the Tag Team titles.
  • January 17, 1994: The Quebecers (with Johnny Polo) defeated Marty Jannetty and 1-2-3 Kid for the Tag Team titles!
  • Royal Rumble 1994: The Quebecers (with Johnny Polo) defeated Bret Hart and Owen Hart.
  • March 31, 1994: The Quebecers (w/Johnny Polo) defeated Men On a Mission for the Tag Team titles.
  • Scott Levy got to work some on the creative and production side, but eventually his on air managing role ended.
  • ~~~Scott wanted to wrestle, managing was one thing, but when he wasn’t even used on tv anymore he decided to leave.
  • ~~~At the time, Scott Levy was getting $100,000 a year plus benefits.
  • Johnny Polo also hosted WWF ALL-AMERICAN WRESTLING television program on the USA network.
  • May 20, 1994 – Live Event: Doink the Clown defeated Johnny Polo.

Independent Wrestling:

  • April 23, 1995 – MEWF: Raven defeated The Ultimate Comet for the MEWF Heavyweight title.

Extreme Championship Wrestling:

  • Scott Levy joined Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling and adopted his strongest gimmick to date, RAVEN!
  • March 17, 1995 – ECW: Raven defeated Hack Myers.
  • March 28, 1995 – ECW Hardcore TV: Raven, Stevie Richards, Tony Stetson and Johnny Hot Body defeated Tommy Dreamer in a gauntlet match.
  • April 8, 1995 – Three Way Dance: Raven defeated Tommy Dreamer.
  • April 15, 1995 – Hostile City Showdown: Raven defeated Tommy Dreamer by disqualification.
  • April 29, 1995 – ECW: Hack Myers and Mikey Whipwreck defeated Raven and Tommy Dreamer.
  • May 5, 1995 – ECW: Raven defeated Tommy Dreamer.
  • May 13, 1995 – Enter The Sandman: Raven and Stevie Richards defeated Tommy Dreamer and Mikey Whipwreck by disqualification.
  • May 16, 1995 – ECW Hardcore TV: Raven defeated Tommy Dreamer.
  • May 19, 1995 – ECW: Marty Jannetty defeated Raven.
  • May 20, 1995 – ECW: Cactus Jack and Tommy Dreamer defeated Raven and The Sandman.
  • June 9, 1995 – ECW: Raven and Stevie Richards defeated Cactus Jack and Tommy Dreamer.
  • June 17, 1995 – ECW: Taz and Too Cold Scorpio defeated Raven, Pitbull #1 and Pitbull #2 in a handicap match.
  • June 30, 1995: Raven and Stevie Richards defeated Public Enemy to capture the ECW Tag Team titles.
  • July 1, 1995 – Hardcore Heaven: Raven and Stevie Richards defeated Tommy Dreamer and Luna Vachon to retain the ECW Tag Team titles.
  • July 15, 1995 – Heat Wave: Tony Stetson and Don E. Allen defeated Raven and Stevie Richards by count out.
  • August 5, 1995 – Wrestlepalooza: Raven and Richards and Snot and Dudley Dudley beat Tommy Dreamer and Cactus Jack and The Pitbulls.
  • September 16, 1995 – Gangstas Paradise: The Pitbulls defeated Raven and Stevie Richards in a Three Falls Double Dog Collar Match.
  • October 7, 1995: Raven and Stevie Richards beat The Pitbulls to recapture the ECW Tag Team titles!
  • ~~~Later that night, Public Enemy defeated Raven and Stevie Richards and The Gangstas in a three-way dance.
  • Raven became engulfed in a war with the Sandman, a feud which saw Raven steal Sandman’s wife and son!
  • January 27, 1996: Raven defeated the Sandman for the ECW World Heavyweight title!
  • When Raven no-showed an event, Stevie Richards was ordered to defend Raven’s World Heavyweight title in a tag match!
  • ~~~Sandman pinned Stevie Richards and won the ECW World Heavyweight title.
  • February 3, 1996 – ECW Big Apple Blizzard Blast: Shane Douglas and Tommy Dreamer defeated Raven and Stevie Richards.
  • February 17, 1996 – ECW Cyberslam: ECW world champion Raven defeated The Sandman to retain the title.
  • February 23, 1996 – ECW Just Another Night: ECW world champion Raven defeated Shane Douglas to retain the title.
  • March 8, 1996 – ECW Big Ass Extreme Bash: ECW world champion Raven defeated Tommy Dreamer to retain the title.
  • March 9, 1996 – ECW Big Ass Extreme Bash: ECW world champion Raven defeated Shane Douglas to retain the title.
  • April 9, 1996 – ECW Hardcore TV: Shane Douglas, Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman defeated Raven and The Harris Brothers.

  • July 13, 1996 – ECW Heatwave: Terry Gordy, The Sandman and Tommy Dreamer defeated Raven, Stevie Richards and Brian Lee.
  • July 26, 1996 – ECW: JT Smith vs. Raven ended in a no contest.
  • August 23, 1996 – ECW: Missy Hyatt and The Sandman defeated Lori Fullington and Raven.
  • December 12, 1996: Raven defeated The Sandman to win ECW World Heavyweight champion!
  • Debuted his new valet, Beulah McGillicutty, and then engaged in a bloody feud with Tommy Dreamer.
  • Eventually Raven’s treatment of Beulah drove her away, and into the arms of Tommy Dreamer.
  • Raven debuted his new valet, Chastity, to counter Beulah’s involvement in Raven-Dreamer battles.
  • February 1, 1997 – ECW Crossing the Lines Again: ECW world champion Raven defeated Steve Williams to retain the title.
  • February 7, 1997 – ECW: ECW world champion Raven defeated Rob Van Dam to retain the title.
  • February 28, 1997 – ECW: ECW world champion Raven defeated Louie Spicolli to retain the title.
  • March 8, 1997 – ECW: ECW world champion Raven defeated Super Nova to retain the title.
  • April 13, 1997 – Barely Legal: Terry Funk pinned Raven to capture the ECW World Heavyweight title!
  • May 8, 1997 – ECW: ECW world champion Terry Funk defeated Raven to retain the title.
  • May 9, 1997 – ECW: Raven defeated Chris Chetti.
  • Raven’s hatred towards Tommy Dreamer intensified and their feud went to new levels.
  • June 6, 1997 – Wrestlepalooza: Tommy Dreamer pinned Raven in a “Loser Leaves ECW” match!
  • Raven who didn’t have all too much left to do in ECW received a huge offer from World Championship Wrestling.

World Championship Wrestling – Raven’s Flock:

  • Jumped ship to World Championship Wrestling, as an unsigned free agent (for storyline purposes).
  • June 30, 1997 – WCW Monday NITRO: Raven is seen sitting in the front row (Announcers recognize him as a champion from an independent organization).
  • August 21, 1997 – WCW Clash of Champions #35: Raven defeated Stevie Richards in a No DQ Match.
  • ~~~Raven brutally defeated Stevie Richards in an “unsanctioned” match then took a seat in the front row.
  • ~~~He would frequently appear in the front row for the next few months, slowing forming what would be known as The Flock.
  • He eventually signed a contract with WCW that stipulated that he could wrestle only when he wanted and under his own rules.
  • October 27, 1997 – WCW Monday NITRO: Raven defeated Scotty Riggs.
  • November 10, 1997 – WCW Monday NITRO: Cut a promo and introduced Van Hammer into the Flock.
  • ~~~Perry Saturn w/Raven’s Flock defeated Chris Benoit to retain the WCW Television Title.
  • ~~~The Flock got involved and then David Finlay attacked Chris Benoit.
  • November 23, 1997 – World War III: Raven met Scotty Riggs in a match in which Raven dropped Riggs into a chair, damaging Riggs’ eye.
  • ~~~Riggs later joined the Flock, as would Billy Kidman, Van Hammer, Horace, Lodi and Sick Boy.
  • Raven’s Flock remained relatively quiet for several weeks.
  • January 1998: Inserted himself into United States title matches between Diamond Dallas Page and Chris Benoit.
  • January 20, 1998 – Saturday Night: Chris Benoit vs. Raven ended in a no contest.
  • January 24, 1998 – Souled Out: Chris Benoit defeated Raven by Submission in a no disqualification match (Raven passed out).
  • ~~~After the match; Raven woke up and his Flock attacked Chris Benoit until Dean Malenko made the save!
  • January 26, 1998 WCW Nitro: Raven defeated Mortis.
  • January 30, 1998 – Thunder: Raven defeated Marty Jannetty.
  • February 2, 1998 – WCW Monday NITRO: Raven defeated Disco Inferno.
  • February 6, 1998 – Thunder: Raven defeated Marty Jannetty.
  • February 9, 1998 – WCW Monday NITRO: Match with Booker T ended in a No Contest.
  • February 13, 1998 – Thunder: Chris Benoit defeated Raven by disqualification.
  • February 20, 1998 – Thunder: Diamond Dallas Page and Chris Benoit defeated Raven and Perry Saturn.
  • February 23, 1998 – WCW Monday NITRO: Chris Benoit vs. Raven ended in a No Contest.

  • August 2, 1999: Once again he resurfaced along side Vampiro and Insane Clown Posse as the Dead Pool.
  • Raven and Roddy Piper didn’t have much going for either of them storyline wise at this point.
  • ~~~So they started talking about feuding with each other so they devised a feud that would come off more real and personal.
  • ~~~This idea was shot down by WCW bookers which led to him getting fed up with the company.
  • August 23, 1999: During an emergency meeting of WCW employees, President Eric Bischoff gave wrestlers the chance to get out.
  • ~~~Raven was the only one in the room to stand up and walk out on the company, and released from his contract.
  • ~~~Eric Bischoff then tried to sway him into staying by telling him about an upcoming storyline they had planned.
  • ~~~This storyline would involved Raven feuding with the KISS Demon Dale Torberg where Raven’s character would take peoples’ souls.
  • ~~~This interested him until he heard it would end with it being revealed that Dustin Rhodes was really behind it all.

  • August 25, 1999: Raven signed a one-year contract with Extreme Championship Wrestling.
