NWA Elects New Board of Directors at Convention


CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA - October 26, 2002 - The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) announced the election of the new Board of Directors for the period running October 2002 to October 2003 during the 54th Anniversary Convention held this year in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 25, 2002. The new Board members are:

Richard Arpin (President and TNA Point Person) - NWA Tri-State Mr. Arpin has been involved with professional wrestling for 17 years and a proud member of the NWA for over 5 years. Mr. Arpin served on the 2001 Board of Directors as the World Title Administrator, Talent Relations and Japanese Liaison.

Fredric G. Rubenstein (Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Arbitrator) - NWA Over the Top Mr. Rubenstein served on last year's Board of Directors as Treasurer and Chief Arbitrator. As he states, "Tradition and new age. Those are the integrated themes as the NWA steams into the 21st Century. I am honored and thrilled to be part of the Team!"

Dave Republic (Secretary; Web Site Point Person; and Director, Communications) - NWA/ECCW Pacific Northwest Based near Vancouver, British Columbia, NWA/ECCW is Canada's and the Pacific Northwest's largest and most active regional professional wrestling organization, putting on over 100 shows a show. Mr. Republic has been a member since 1998 and his past experience with AT&T, STAPLES and dot com companies will serve him well at his first time serving on this Board of Directors.

Andre Baker (Director, European Operations) - NWA UK Hammerlock This is Mr. Baker's first time serving on the Board of Directors and is charged with growing and extending the NWA brand in the European market. He states, "We are and always have been 100% behind the NWA and helping to make it not just a national company, but an international company."

Alvin J. Minnick - (Director, National Title) - NWA Mid-South Mr. Minnick is entering his 19th year of being involved with professional wrestling including the last eight years as a promoter. Having been an NWA member for the past three years, Mr. Minnick hopes to grow the NWA name has he develops talent for the National Title.

Ken Taylor (Director, Merchandising, World Jr and North American Titles) - NWA Southwest A member since 1997, Mr. Taylor was the host promotion for the 54th Anniversary show in Corpus Christi, Texas. Over his 25 years in sport promotions Ken has run hundreds of professional wrestling shows. This past year saw Mr. Taylor serve as the North American Title Administrator.

Ernie Todd - (Director, Woman's World and Canadian Titles; Japanese Liaison) - NWA Canadian Wrestling Federation Has been a member of the NWA since 1998 and served on the Board of Directors for three years. Mr. Todd notes that he is looking forward to helping the NWA build a strong, worldwide brand name and in the long term success of the TNA relationship.

Robert K. Trobich (Legal Counsel) Mr. Trobich, based in Charlotte, NC has been general counsel to the NWA since 1989.
