TNA IMPACT 11 05 2009

TNA iMPACT

Location: Orlando, Florida (Universal Studios)
Date: November 5, 2009 (Taped: November 2-3)

TAPED SEGMENT (EARLIER TODAY): TNA President Dixie Carter addressed all of the TNA employees, who sat there in the empty arena basically out of character listening to their boss talk about the changes in TNA. Most of the key backstage players – writers, agents, etc. – were sitting on the edge of the ring behind Dixie. The TNA roster was assured that there were more changes on the way. Dixie said she knows there were employees with differing opinions, but she expects everyone to support her 100%. Dixie said when someone questions things that happen in the company, they are questioning her – and she cannot allow that to happen. Dixie said business was about choices, and she chose to put her finances, her reputation, her passion, and her love behind the wrestlers and TNA. Dixie said they could choose to support the direction TNA is going or they can find some other place to work. Dixie said it was time to swing for the fenses, and no great success comes without risk – she is great with that, and hopes they are too. Dixie said she was proud of her employees, but this is a test and it’s time to step it up. Dixie said if they don’t believe it they are hurting the person sitting next to them, hurting her, and hurting the fans. Dixie said let’s show everybody what we’re all about. Editor’s Note: Well I’m not a TNA employee so I’ll say what’s on my mind when listening to that speech. I “supported” a lame TNA for a long time, so I feel like they have to earn back my confidence. My problem is that the TNA wrestlers have been the ONLY ones stepping it up for the last three years. The TNA roster has been amazing, busting their asses and keeping the company alive. Dixie, sweetheart, you need to turn around and talk to the “crew” sitting behind you. You know the ones responsible for the behind the scenes chaos. The writers, the morons writing the lame scripts, and refusing to learn how to put a decent show together. Yes, this change is going to be a big deal for TNA, but just bringing in Hulk Hogan isn’t going to make you famous – important philosophical changes from the inside are what’s needed.. How many times have we heard this “new beginning” hype, yet they never seem to make any progress. I certainly hope that TNA finally learns from the mistakes it has been making for four years and proves to the wrestling world that they are not as dumb as everybody thinks they are.

IN THE RING
TNA World Heavyweight champion A.J. Styles + Christopher Daniels + Samoa Joe: A.J. Styles said there have been a lot of changes at TNA, but wanted to be clear that he is the World Heavyweight champion! Styles said ever since he won the TNA title there have been changes in his life, and changes in TNA, and those have all been POSITIVE (looks in the camera) changes! Styles asked who would have thought “Hawk” Hogan would be part of the TNA family. Styles said it was a whole new playing field, and they were at a whole other level. Styles said he’s been dreaming about being at this level for the past seven years. Styles said where there was positives, there is negatives. Styles said when he won the title, he made it clear that he was a fighting champion. Styles said the only problem was someone has been hiding in the darkness and jumping him every time he had his back turned. Styles asked whoever it was to man up and come out to the ring right now! Styles said he didn’t care if he was a foe (Joe) or friend (Daniels). Christopher Daniels came to the ring and asked why Styles used the phrase “foe or friend” and asked him to explain. Styles said he didn’t have to explain anything to Daniels. Daniels asked how after all these years, Styles could believe it was him who was attacking him. Daniels said Styles was so arrogant with the belt over his shoulder. Daniels said for seven years Styles has been given opportunity after opportunity as the face of TNA, but along the way he has been pampered and was a little bit spoiled. Daniels said Styles always got special treatment. Daniels said they came to TNA at the same time and he (Daniels) never got anything – even though he was every bit as good as A.J. Styles. Daniels said the only difference between them was every time A.J. was down, the company helped him up, but eevry time he (Daniels) was up, the company pushed him down. Daniels said Dixie Carter says that change is on the way, and maybe today will be his lucky day. Daniels said if there was one person who doesn’t like him, it will be another seven years in hell for him. Styles said Daniels has never said anything to him like that. Samoa Joe came out to the stage, happy with planting the seed of doubt between Styles and Daniels. Joe said Daniels was working Styles, and called Daniels a bald-faced liar. Joe said Daniels has always been jealous of Styles. Joe said the only reason he and Styles aren’t friends is because he has something that he wants (the TNA belt). Joe said the only way to be the best in the world is to be the TNA champion. Joe said he didn’t need to attack Styles backstage like some shameful cowardly punk. Daniels got aggressive and said if he wanted someone he would face him man-to-man face-to-face and there’s no doubt about it. Styles told Daniels that if he wanted a piece of him, all he had to do was ask. Styles challenged Daniels to a match TONIGHT! Daniels sealed the deal with a handshake, and Samoa Joe smiled on the stage – obviously happy that his two Turning Point opponents were going to tear each other apart.

TAG TEAM MATCH
Beer Money Inc. (Robert Roode & James Storm) defeated World ELITE (Eric Young & Big Rob Terry): The finish saw Eric Young bring the Global belt in as a weapon, but he missed and accidentally knocked out Big Rob, who was then pinned by Beer Money. ODB said she was making a movie, and she was looking for some slut-doubles. The Beautiful People actually believed her and expressed interest in the role. ODB said the leading man plays for the Yankees. Lacey asked, “who? Alex Jeter?” and ODB responded with “no, yank dees nuts!” and kicked Lacey in the crotch! The Beautiful people pounced on ODB, gave her a make-over, and put her in some kind of wardrobe bag.

Lauren Brooke & “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal: The Black Machismo was especially excited about his MegaPowers partner, Hulk Hogan, coming to TNA. Machismo said he wanted to be the first to welcome the Hulkster to his new home right here in TNA. Ware), the Snakeman (Jake Roberts), Ivan Koloff, (King Kong) Bundy, Ultimate Warrior, and Ric Flair!

Foley said Borash’s mouth is saying Foley but his eyes are saying Hulkster. Foley remembered how Borash was shocked to learn that he had set up cameras in his office, and asked if there was something Borash wanted to tell him – something he didn’t want the world to know about? Borash said no, but he wanted to ask Foley about Abyss. Foley said he had a little surprise for Abyss tonight.

SQUASH MATCH
Desmond Wolfe (aka Nigel McGuinness) defeated Cody Deaner: The crowd immediately chanted “You Suck” upon Desmond Wolfe’s introduction. Nobody has ever gotten that reaction since a young Kurt Angle joined the WWF. They got Kurt Angle on the phone, but the match was over before he could say anything. Angle said Wolfe has a lethal clothesline, and said that he has a damaged larynx and pinched a nerve down his left arm. Angle said Wolfe got his attention, but he has yet to earn his respect. Angle said he caught him off guard, in taking on the top guy in the company, and he wasn’t ready for something like that. While Angle was talking, Wolfe was finishing up in the ring, and making his exit. Wolfe got on the mic and said Cody Deaner was just a nother victim in the fangs of the wolf. Wolfe said people want to get in the ring with him, but pointed out that it was easy to get in the ring, but not as easy to get out. Wolfe addressed Kurt Angle, saying he doesn’t know why he wants to experience more pain and agony. Wolfe said if that’s what Angle wants he is more than happy to give it to him. Wolfe said “I can smell the blood already, and let’s just say, I’m hungry like a WOLF!”

Rhino asked if the bad referee decision last week was a mistake or a coincidence. Rhino said Team 3-D are wrestling Matt Morgan & Hernandez tonight, the same two guys that have tried to take him out the last two weeks. Rhino asked if that was a coincidence? Foley said for the last six years everybody asked him what he thought about Abyss. Foley said he thought Abyss was tough, and that he was damn good, but there was only one way to find out. Foley said 23 years ago, he decided he wanted to be a cross between Bruiser Brody and the Dynamite Kid. Foley said he nibbled off of other wrestlers plates, like Harley Race & Terry Funk.
