IN THE RING
TNA World Champion Samoa Joe: Samoa Joe cut an “open house” promo with all of the TNA wrestlers gathered around ringside. Joe offered the roster a “chance of a lifetime,” talking about the King of the Mountain match – where four guys challenge for the TNA World Heavyweight title. Joe said eight wrestlers would compete in qualifying matches, and he made a deal that Jim Cornette would pick the first four guys and he (Joe) would pick the final four guys. Joe announced that Cornette had chosen Robert Roode, James Storm, Tomko, and Matt Morgan. Joe said he wants tough competition and will be scouting people tonight. The heel Booker T came out and wanted to know why he wasn’t included in Cornette’s picks for the King of the Mountain. Booker T also wanted to know why Samoa Joe never talked to him since he came to TNA. Booker T said if Joe doesn’t pick him next week there will be consequences and repercussions. Joe said he didn’t give a damn about Booker’s consequences and repercussions, so Booker attacked Joe! Rhino and Christian Cage jumped in to help Joe, and Team 3-D pulled Booker out of the ring to safety. Booker T challenged Joe, Cage & Rhino to a match and he’ll find some partners tonight.
Jeremy Borash & Kurt Angle: Kurt Angle talked about his neck injuries suffered in Korea, predicting that he’d get blackballed from the King of the Mountain match, and said he had a speech prepared for Karen Angle later tonight – saying he would invite Karen and his daughter back into his life.
“Lauren” & Kaz & Sonjay Dutt & Jay Lethal w/So-Cal Val: Lauren (bring back Crystal Louthan!) asked Kaz about winning the Terror Dome match and wrestling in the main event of Sacrifice. Jay Lethal was pacing and mumbling to himself in the background. Kaz and Dutt asked Lethal what was going on, and he said he had some big plans tonight that had nothing to do with their match.
SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH
Kaz & “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal (w/So-Cal Val) & Sonjay Dutt defeated The Rock & Rave Connection (Lance Hoyt & Jimmy Rave w/Christy Hemme) & Johnny Devine: After the match, “The Black Machismo” Jay Lethal got down on one knee and asked So-Cal Val “Will you marry me….. at Slammiversary?” and Val did her best Liz impression, responding “Ohhhh yeeaahhhhh!!” – Jay Lethal slipped the ring on Val’s finger and they embraced as Sonjay Dutt looked on with a disturbed envious expression on his face.
Abyss: Abyss was shown sitting on the floor of a padded room, wearing a straight jacket – explaining that they allowed him to have a camera in his room because of his good behavior (“but between you and me, I think I fooled them”). Abyss said he committed himself because he was an addict, a masochist, and his love for pain is unquenchable. No matter how much blood and torture, it was never enough. Abyss said the doctors told him that he’s almost cured and he can go home soon.
“Lauren” & Samoa Joe & Kevin Nash: Lauren talked about the misunderstanding between Joe and Nash at Sacrifice. Nash said he thinks wrestling is 90% mental and 10% physical, whereas Joe believes it’s 90% physical and 10% mental. Nash said they are closer than ever coming out of Sacrifice. Lauren (idiot) asked Joe who he was going to pick for the King of the Mountain Qualifying tournament. Joe said that would come next week, and addressed Booker T – telling him to bring his goons tonight. Can you dig that, sucker?
TNA KNOCKOUTS TITLE
Awesome Kong w/Raesha Saed defeated Gail Kim to retain the TNA Knockout’s title: A few minutes into the match, Raesha Saed interfered by tripping up Gail Kim. ODB came down to keep an eye on Raesha, followed by Salinas, Velvet Sky, Christy Hemme, Tracy Brooks, and Angelina Love. After a while, Gail Kim was riding a wave of momentum when Angelina Love shoved her off the top rope. Kim landed badly, cracking her knee on the mat, enabling Kong to finish Kim off with an Awesome-bomb. Tracy Brooks, ODB and Salinas checked on Gail Kim while Angelina Love, Velvet Sky and Christy Hemme laughed from the stage.
IN THE RING
Kurt Angle: Kurt Angle said his wife, Karen, didn’t kick him out of the house – she left him. Kurt said he wrote Karen an apology letter and asked the booing fans for a little compassion. Kurt read a prepared speech for Karen, saying he knows how miserable her life has been without him (I’m sorry for that). Kurt said he was giving Karen the chance to come back to him where she belongs. Kurt said it was a matter of Karen getting her priorities straight. Kurt said the TNA World title is first, the gold medels are second, the kids are third, and Karen falls in at fourth! Kurt said if Karen understand’s that then everything will be alright. Kurt said he was willing to forgive Karen for her failures as a wife.
Jeremy Borash & LAX (Homicide & Hernandez w/Hector Guerrero & Salinas): LAX continued their celebration after recapturing the TNA World tag team titles at Sacrifice. Hector Guerrero called for all the Latino people to come out and support them.
NON (TAG TEAM) TITLE MATCH
LAX (Homicide & Hernandez w/Hector Guerrero & Salinas) defeated The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin):
Jeremy Borash & Booker T & Team 3-D: Jeremy Borash stated that Booker T wasn’t the same guy that came to TNA a few months ago. Team 3-D snatched the microphone away and bullied Borash out of the interview area. Booker T said TNA signed the most decorated wrestler in history. Booker T said he was going to prove tonight that he is still heir to the thrown (King Bookah?).
Eric Young in Memphis: Eric Young travelled to Memphis to search for “The King,” and was picked up in a car driven by someone wearing a wrestling mask. Eric Young said that he knew Elvis was still alive and he was going to prove to the world that heros do exist.
Mike Tenay & Steve “Sting” Bordon: Sting told the same old story about he and Jim Helwig getting discovered by Rick Bassman and sending resumes all over the world – adding that Jerry Jarrett was the only one to call them back. Sting said Jim Helwig went on to become the Ultimate Warrior, and they parted ways and it wasn’t really a friendly part. Editor’s Note: Could it be? Could they REALLY be building for a Sting vs. Warrior match ????
“Lauren” & The Beautiful People (Angelina Love & Velvet Sky): Velvet said she and Angelina are the hottest things going in TNA, which is why they are featured on the show… AGAIN! Angelina addressed Roxxi Laveaux getting her head shaved, and said don’t blame them cause they didn’t do it. Lauren asked how they could be so mean spirited, so Angelina said “Barbie over here needs a make-over herself.”
KNOCKOUTS TAG TEAM MATCH
The Beautiful People (Angelina Love & Velvet Sky) defeated ODB & Roxxi Laveaux: Roxxi Laveaux was sporting her new bald head, which still looks kinda hot. Roxxi looks to have dropped part of the freaky voodoo gimmick, and is a little more aggressive with her offense.
Lauren & Christian Cage & Rhino: Christian Cage said he’s always known that Booker T was a complete piece of shit. Rhino said he has a lot of history with Team 3-D; they fought together, and were like brothers, as they built a company based on extreme (ECW). Rhino said they won’t be family tonight, and he will drag their bloody bodies down memory lane one more time.
SIX MAN TAG TEAM MAIN EVENT
Samoa Joe & Christian Cage & Rhino defeated Booker T & Team 3-D (Brothers Ray & Devon): During the first part of the match, Brother Ray yelled at Spanish announcer Hector Guerrero and shoved him out of his seat! After the match, Team 3-D assaulted Hector Guerrero and dragged him backstage as Booker T held back Samoa Joe, Christian and Rhino with a chair. Team 3-D bloodied Hector Guerrero before the good guys could break through and make the save!
