WWE tag team legends The Hart Foundation
May 25, 2009 – Los Angeles, California
Announcers: Michael Cole & Jim Ross (sub for Jerry Lawler)
IN THE RING (PUBLICITY STUNT)
E. Stan Kroenke + Vince McMahon + Mike “The Miz” Mizanin + John Cena + Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes + Batista + The Big Show + Jerry “The King” Lawler: Lilian Garcia introduced a fake E. Stan Kroenke (owner of the NBA’s Denver Nuggets). The fake Kroenke came out and shook hands with a fake David Stern (NBA commissioner), a fake Jack Nicholson (Hollywood actor), and a fake somebody else. The fake Kroenke said he can’t stand the WWE or its fans, and bragged about screwing the WWE by forcing them out of Denver, Colorado. The fake Kroenke said for the past week he has been villified by the WWE and by the media. Vince McMahon’s “No Chance in Hell” music played and the crowd popped as Vince strutted to the ring with a big grin on his face. Vince said he was announcing the creation of his own basketball league, calling it the XBA – but unfortunately it will be a miserable total failure. Vince said the reason was that he will have Kroenke and his staff run it. Vince scolded the fake Kroenke and said they were going to have a little fun tonight. Vince said that the “E” stands for ENOS, which rhymes with.. VENUS! Vince continued to make fun of the ENOS name and finished by saying Enos disrespected the WWE Universe. Vince said when somebody pushes the WWE Universe, they push back – and then Vince shoved the fake Kroenke down on his ass! Mike “The Miz” Mizanin interrupted and said he became a huge TV star in Los Angeles. The Miz said reality check, and said he was from the city where the real NBA champions are – Cleveland, Ohio! The Miz ripped off his shirt and revealed a Cavaliers jersey. The Miz called John Cena a loser, just like Kobe Bryant. The Miz said tonight he will become 6-0 against Cena. John Cena walked to the ring ready for a fight but he was attacked from behind by Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes. Batista hobbled to the ring and destroyed all three heels with Spine-busters! The Big Show attacked Batista from behind and took a shot at Cena. Jerry “The King” Lawler ran down and went after the Big Show (holy cow!). Cena & Batista double-clotheslined the Big Show over the top rope!

Pepsi Center Double-Booking Controversy with the WWE
On May 19th, 2009, Stan Kroenke double-booked the May 25th, 2009 date at the Pepsi Center between an already scheduled WWE wrestling event, Monday Night Raw, and a playoff game of his own Denver Nuggets against the Los Angeles Lakers. The WWE event had been booked back in August of 2008. Kroenke had tried to have the WWE hold the event on the evening of May 24th, 2009 which was a Sunday. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon refused this date citing that Monday night events had been aired on live TV for several years straight and that the date in question had been agreed upon 9 months prior. Kroenke was criticized by Mr. McMahon for not having faith that his team would reach that far in the playoffs.
On May 20th, WWE moved Raw to the Staples Center in Los Angeles–coincidentally the home of the Nuggets playoff rivals, the Lakers. The WWE also moved the following night’s SmackDown/ECW taping (also previously scheduled for the Pepsi Center) to the Staples Center as well, in addition to rescheduling all WWE live events in the state of Colorado that the company had planned that weekend back to August. The WWE’s website then went onto say that Vince McMahon would call-out Kroenke on the episode of Raw in question, and later made public the “joint press release” that Kroneke had written for both him and McMahon had McMahon decided to hold Raw that Sunday night, thereby backing up WWE’s claims.
WWE DIVAS TITLE MATCH
Kelly Kelly defeated WWE Diva’s champion Maryse Ouellet: They started fighting outside the ring and Maryse shoved Kelly over the announce desk causing the disqualification… Kelly jumped back in the ring and got a few post-match shots in on Maryse, who quickly retreated..
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT: The Bella Twins were swooning over the fake Jack Nicholson when then bumped into Goldust. Remember Goldust’s gimmick was originally supposed to be a major fan of Hollywood films. Goldust & Hornswoggle performed the “you can’t handle the truth!” scene from the movie, A Few Good Men.
Batista & “Nature Boy” Ric Flair: Ric Flair was excited about calling out Randy Orton tonight! Batista tried to convince Flair to wait until after Extreme Rules when Orton will be “half dead.” Flair took offense to Batista’s lack of faith in him and said he was going to do it even if Batista doesn’t like it!
#1 CONTENDERS (U.S. TITLE) TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
Kofi Kingston defeated Matt Hardy (pinned) and William Regal: WWE United States champion Montel Vontavious Porter joined Michael Cole & Jim Ross on commentary for this match..
IN THE RING
“Nature Boy” Ric Flair + Randy Orton + Batista + Mr. Kennedy: Ric Flair said Randy Orton sucker-punched him last week and he had his way with him. Flair said he thought about what Jericho did to him and said that wasn’t going to happen again. Flair told Orton not to feel sorry for him. Flair called out Randy Orton and told him to BRING IT! Orton came out to the ramp and said he would love to beat Flair up on principal alone. Orton said last week he lowered himself to punching a 60 year old man. Flair took offense and took a fit! Orton said six years ago Triple H only kept Flair around cause he felt sorry for him. Orton said he is starting to feel sorry for Flair, and the people are starting to feel sorry for him. Orton got in the ring and told Flair that it was OVER. Flair slapped Orton and they started to fight until Orton retreated and Batista showed up to hold Flair back. Orton told Batista to waste his time worrying about the washed up Flair. Orton said after Extreme Rules, Batista will be just like Ric – it will be all over for him too. Mr. Kennedy showed up to everybody’s surprise and his microphone was lowered from the ceiling (thank God the production guys knew Mr. Kennedy would be there). Mr. Kennedy said tonight marks the official return of Mr. Kennedy, saying he would soon be a World champion.
MIXED TAG TEAM MATCH
Santino Marella & Mickie James defeated Beth Phoenix & Chavo Guerrero: After the match, General Manager Vickie Guerrero (wearing her “Miss WrestleMania” crown and sash) came out to the stage to sarcastically congratulate Santino on his victory. Vickie booked herself in a match against Santina at Extreme Rules with Chavo in her corner. Santino chose the stipulation… making it a HOGPEN MATCH!
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT: The Big Show told the Miz that nobody likes him. Big Show told the Miz that he can’t pin John Cena because at Extreme Rules he is going to make Cena tap out!
TAG TEAM MATCH
Goldust & Hornswoggle defeated Brian Kendrick & Festus: Carlito & Primo Colon joined Michael Cole & Jim Ross on commentary for the match.. After the match, THE Kendrick blamed Festus and grabbed a chair and prepared to smash him. Primo snuck over and ran the ring bell causing Festus to “wake up” and send Kendrick running backstage…
10-MAN TAG TEAM MAIN EVENT
The Lakers (John Cena & Batista & Montel Vontavious Porter & Jerry Lawler & Mr. Kennedy) defeated The Nuggets (Randy Orton & Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase & The Big Show & Mike Mizanin): They did the announcements like at an NBA game where the real Los Angeles Lakers announcer introduced the heels (wearing Denver Nuggets jerseys) with a calm voice but got excited when he introduced the babyfaces (wearing L.A. Lakers jerseys)…. everything broke loose after the match, and the show ended with Cena & Batista giving the Big Show a double suplex! And the babyface team celebrating in the middle of the ring…
