SLAMMY AWARD PRESENTATION – TAG TEAM OF THE YEAR
Maria Kanellis & Festus + [THE WINNER IS?]: Maria & Festus introduced the nominees for “Tag Team of the Year” – 1) Carlito & Primo Colon, 2) Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase Jr., 3) John Morrison & Mike Mizanin, 4) Shad Gaspard & JTG —- and the Slammy goes to…. The Miz & John Morrison!! The Miz & Morrison came out and celebrated loudly, and took the opportunity to make fun of Festus. Miz & Morrison thanked everybody and stole Barack Obama’s “Yes We Can” slogan. Morrison started to fake cry as the Miz proclaimed that they were the greatest tag team of the 21st century. BE JEALOUS!

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINAL MATCH
C.M. Punk defeated John Morrison to advance to the finals: C.M. Punk “injured” his ankle and it became a target for John Morrison’s attack. Punk used the Go-To-Sleep to finish Morrison off, but the GTS may have worsened his ankle “injury.”

BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
Todd Grisham & World Heavyweight champion John Cena: John Cena reacted to seeing video of him being assaulted by Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Manu last week. Cena said it was the Slammy’s tonight and he had a big match with Edge, but he will handle his business tonight and FIGHT CHRIS JERICHO.

SLAMMY AWARD PRESENTATION – BEST FINISHING MOVE
Candice Michelle & Cryme Tyme (Shad Gaspard & JTG) + [THE WINNER IS?]: Candice & Cryme Tyme introduced the nominees for “Best Finishing Maneuver” – 1) The Undertaker’s Hell’s Gate, 2) Randy Orton’s RKO, 3) Evan Bourne’s Shooting Star Press, 4) The Big Show‘s Knockout Punch —- Candice caught Cryme Tyme trying to steal the Slammy and sent them off stage. Candice announce, and the Slammy goes to…. Evan Bourne for the Shooting Star Press. Candice accepted the award on behalf of Evan Bourne. Mike Knox came out to the stage and took the Slammy out of Candice Michelle’s hands and snarled into the camera.

ON STAGE
Randy Orton: Randy Orton said you would think being World Heavyweight champion for four months and winning the main event of WrestleMania would warrent a nomination for Superstar of the Year. Orton bragged about defeating all six of the nominees for Superstar of the Year. Orton said Cody Rhodes, Manu, and himself are challenging Triple H & Batista to a 3-on-2 Handicap match tonight – instead of the advertised Triple H vs. Batista match (bait and switch).

IN THE RING
Montel Vontavious Porter: MVP said his losing streak was being blown out of proportion and it will come to an end tonight. MVP picked on MLB Philadelphia Phillies played Jimmy Rollins in the front row and insulted the entire city of Philadelphia. Suddenly MVP’s music started playing and Charlie Haas came out doing an MVP impersonation.

SINGLES MATCH
Most Valuable Charlie (Charlie Haas dressed as Montel Vontavious Porter) defeated Montel Vontavious Porter: MVP lost his concentration and started messing with Jimmy Rollins. Less than one minute later, Charlie Haas rolled up MVP for the 1-2-3 to win the match!

SLAMMY AWARD PRESENTATION – MOST EXTREME MOMENT OF THE YEAR
Tiffany & Matt Hardy + [THE WINNER IS?]: Tiffany & Matt Hardy introduced the nominees for “Most Extreme Moment of the Year” – 1) Cena/JBL parking lot brawl, 2) The Undertaker’s Crash Landing, 3) Jericho puts HBK through the Jeritron, 4) Jeff Hardy‘s Captivating Plunge —- and the Slammy goes to…. Jeff Hardy! Matt Hardy presented the Slammy to his younger brother, Jeff Hardy. Jeff said it all started years ago on a trampoline in North Carolina and this Sunday he will leave Armageddon as WWE Champion.

SUPERSTAR OF THE YEAR MATCH
Chris Jericho defeated Jeff Hardy: These are two of the nominees for “Superstar of the Year” – which will be announced later tonight. Despite being paranoid that he was about to be attacked by John Cena, Chris Jericho hit the Code-breaker and pinned Jeff Hardy! Jericho was looking over his shoulder as he made his exit.

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Randy Orton & Cody Rhodes & Manu: Randy Orton and his two protege’s were up to something backstage.

SLAMMY AWARD PRESENTATION – COUPLE OF THE YEAR
Kelly Kelly & Kane + [THE WINNER IS?]: Kelly (adorable) & Kane (not adorable) introduced the nominees for “Couple of the Year” – 1) Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix, 2) Edge & Vickie Guerrero, 3) William Regal & Layla El, 4) Fit Finlay & Hornswoggle —- and the Slammy goes to….. Edge & Vickie Guerrero! Oh geez, here we go. Vickie came out glowing with pride, screaming “excuse me!” Vickie said she and Edge have been through so much this past year. Vickie said she accepted the award on behalf of her husband, Edge. “We did it baby, we did it… I love you!”

ON STAGE
Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix: Santino & Beth Phoenix came out and protested Edge & Vickie’s victory, and proclaimed that Glamourella deserved that award. Santino challenged any of the other nominated couples to a match tonight.

MIXED TAG TEAM MATCH
Fit Finlay & Hornswoggle defeated Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix: There was some pre-match shenanigans, where Finlay put an Irish hat on Beth’s head, so Beth threw it down and stepped on it. Beth slapped Finlay, so Finlay slapped Santino! By the way, Hornswoggle now has a unibrow. It was a short match, ending with Hornswoggle hitting a Tadpole-splash on Santino and pinning him for the win! Beth Phoenix looks so sexy when she is pretending to be annoyed.

SLAMMY AWARD PRESENTATION – DIVA OF THE YEAR
Theodore Long & Melina Perez + [THE WINNER IS?]: Melina & Theodore Long introduced the nominees for “WWE Divas of the Year” – 1) Beth Phoenix, 2) Mickie James, 3) Kelly Kelly, 4) Michelle McCool —- and the Slammy goes to…. Beth Phoenix (announced reluctantly by Melina). Beth Phoenix was in the ring holding the fallen Santino, but dropped him to run up the ramp and accept the Diva of the Year Award. Beth looked Melina in the eye as she took the trophy and grinned arrogantly. Beth Phoenix gave a short speech and held up the trophy to celebrate! Beth then shoved Melina, but then Melina fired back with a forearm and they started cat-fighting. Santino was standing there and Melina pushed Beth and she hit Santino right in his “injured” groin.

SLAMMY AWARD PRESENTATION – OH MY GOD MOMENT OF THE YEAR
Joey Styles & Alicia Fox + [THE WINNER IS?]: Great to see Joey Styles on TV! Joey delivered his famous line “OH MY GOD!” Joey Styles & Alicia introduced the nominees for “Oh My God Moment of the Year” – 1) C.M. Punk cashes in Money in the Bank, 2) The Undertaker sends Edge to hell, 3) Floyd Mayweather breaks Big Show’s nose, 4) John Cena’s Royal Rumble return —- and the Slammy goes to…. C.M. Punk! C.M. Punk came out and called 2008 his miracle year and vowed to win the Intercontinental title by the end of the year. Punk pulled out a list and read off a bunch of names, two of which were Chris Guy (Ace Steel) and Scotty Goldman (Colt Cabana). Punk went backstage and dragged Joey Styles back out on the stage and tried to get him to say the words but Joey refused. When Punk told him they were in Philadelphia, Styles screamed “OH MY GOD!!!”

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINAL MATCH
Rey Mysterio defeated Kofi Kingston: Rey Mysterio’s arm was bandaged because of the injury he suffered last week at the hands of Mike Knox. Mysterio pulled out the victory in a relatively short match to advance to the finals of the tournament where he will face C.M. Punk. The winner of the tournament will face William Regal for the Intercontinental championship.

SLAMMY AWARD PRESENTATION – MATCH OF THE YEAR
Mr. Kennedy & Eve Torres + [THE WINNER IS?]: Eve Torres & Mr. Kennedy introduced the nominees for “Match of the Year” – 1) Money in the Bank Ladder Match from WrestleMania 24, 2) 2008 Royal Rumble featuring John Cena, 3) The Undertaker vs. Edge in a Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam, 4) Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair in a Career Threatening match at WrestleMania 24 —- and the Slammy goes to…. please let it be…. YES! Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair!!! Shawn Michaels came out to accept the award and said his match with Ric Flair at WrestleMania will hold a special place in his heart. Michaels praised Ric Flair, and said he meant what he said after their match when he said “I love you” Michaels said the award would sit on his mantle as a reminder. Suddenly, JBL came out and took the trophy out of Shawn’s hands and said it will go well with the other awards he has at his house. JBL walked off and a distraught Michaels took the envelope. This crap doesn’t even make sense!

2-ON-3 HANDICAP MATCH
Randy Orton & Cody Rhodes & Manu defeated Triple H & Batista: Randy Orton tagged himself in and tried to sneak attack Batista but Triple H prevented that from happening. Batista went to Batista-bomb Orton, but Cody Rhodes broke it up and Orton transitioned right into an RKO – then pinned Batista to win!

SLAMMY AWARD PRESENTATION – DAMN! MOMENT OF THE YEAR
Ron Simmons & Mickie James + [THE WINNER IS?]: Mickie James & Ron Simmons introduced the nominees for “Damn! Moment of the Year” – 1) The Great Khali’s Kiss-Cam, 2) C.M. Punk surprises Chavo Guerrero, 3) Jim Ross in a Sailor Suit, 4) Santino’s Split Goes Splat! —- and the Slammy goes to…. the Khali Kiss-cam! Come on, Santino should have had this one all wrapped up! The Great Khali (w/Ranjin Singh) came out in a really nice suit and said we shouldn’t be obsessed with material possessions. Khali said it was more important to focus on the depletion of their natural resources so our children will have a better future and a brighter tomorrow. WTF. Mickie James wanted a kiss from Khali and was about to get one until Jillian Hall came out singing the Theme from Titanic. Kung Funaki, Howard Finkel, Ranjin Singh, Jim Duggan, and Sgt. Slaughter started waves their arms and flags back and forth. The Great Khali picked up Mickie James, who looked incredible sexy, and gave her a long kiss – she looked like she was really into it too! Ron Simmons stepped up the microphone and yelled “DAMN!!!”

SINGLES MATCH
Dolph Ziggler defeated R-Truth by Countout: R-Truth came out with his Slammy, which he won on WWE.com for “Best Musical Performance” apparently beating out Jillian Hall. Both wrestlers were on the floor getting counted out, when Ziggler smacked Truth in the head with a knee smash and jumped into the ring just in time!

SLAMMY ANNOUNCEMENT: Earlier in the show, they announced that Todd Grisham & Matt Striker had won the “Best Announce Team” Award on WWE.com – which Jim Ross, Tazz, Michael Cole, and Jerry Lawler found completely hilarious.

SLAMMY AWARD PRESENTATION – SUPERSTAR OF THE YEAR
Stephanie McMahon + [THE WINNER IS?]: Stephanie McMahon introduced the nominees for “Superstar of the Year” – 1) Jeff Hardy, 2) Chris Jericho, 3) Batista, 4) Edge, 5) Triple H, 6) John Cena —- and the Slammy goes to…. Chris Jericho! Wow. Jerry Lawler says “what a surprise!” — Chris Jericho came out took his Slammy to the ring for his acceptance speech. Jericho said he was glad the fans couldn’t vote because they weren’t capable of voting fairly. Jericho talked about the great year he had, winning the World Heavyweight title three times – counting the one he will win from John Cena at Armageddon. Jericho said he couldn’t think of a better way to close out 2008 than destroying John Cena at Armageddon. World Heavyweight champion John Cena sprinted to the ring, and Jericho quickly retreated through the crowd and out of the arena. WWE champion Edge then made his way to the ring for his scheduled match with John Cena.

CHAMPION VS. CHAMPION NON-TITLE MATCH
WWE champion John Cena vs. World Heavyweight champion Edge ended in a No Contest: A few minutes into the match, Chris Jericho reappeared and attacked John Cena at ringside and they brawled through the crowd and disappeared. Triple H ran down and tackled Edge in the ring and they brawled for a few seconds before Jeff Hardy joined the fray! Each man tried to get the upper hand, but it was Triple H’s music playing when the show went off the air.
