IN THE RING (CUTTING EDGE)
World Heavyweight champion Edge + #1 contender Jeff Hardy: Edge came to the ring, where his belt was hanging from the ceiling. The ring had two large ladders set up inside and about ten more ladders set up at ringside. Edge introduced his challenger this Sunday, Jeff Hardy, who came out and stepped underneath most of those ladders to tempt fate. Hardy said if Edge wanted to talk to he would be “up here.” Hardy climbed to the top of one ladder and said he was extremely comfortable with his surroundings right now. Edge stayed down below and said this Sunday if Hardy tried to climb the ladder, he’ll be right there to knock him down. Edge said Hardy will give all of the people a false sense of hope, as well as himself. Edge said when Hardy is down, he will climb to the top of the ladder and grab HIS World Heavyweight championship. Edge said it’s always the same old song and dance. Hardy cut him off “blah blah blah blah!!” and said that he would make history at Extreme Rules. At this point Edge was up on top of the second ladder talking face-to-face with Hardy. Hardy said leaving for the moment will not be his downfall, it will be his salvation. Edge said this Sunday, Hardy will need that salvation. Edge bashed Hardy in the head with the title belt and pushed Hardy crashing down onto the ropes and down to the floor at ringside. Who didn’t see that coming?
John Morrison defeated Shelton Benjamin: John Morrison injured his leg but sucked it up and connected with his finisher, Starship Pain!
IN THE RING
Chris Jericho + R-Truth: Chris Jericho told Rey Mysterio to be afraid because on Sunday he will rip off his mask and expose his true identity. Jericho said Rey is a hero and an idol to the fans, but he is too ashamed to show his face. Jericho called the Mysterio-fans a mindless group of zombies. Jericho said there are no rules at Extreme Rules so he will do whatever he has to do to demolish Rey and ruin his life forever. Jericho added that he will become the Intercontinental champion for the ninth time! R-Truth interrupted and asked everybody. “what’s up?” Jericho said how dare you come out and interrupt me! Jericho said R-Truth can rap and dance like a puppet but he will not try to upstage him on his own show. Jericho said they have a match, but he is not done talking. R-Truth said, “you’re done as done gonna get!” R-Truth called Jericho the biggest hipocrite he’s ever seen. R-Truth said Jericho is not a thug, and he’s not BAD, but things are about to get REAL BAD!
Chris Jericho defeated R-Truth: After the match, Rey Mysterio attacked Jericho as he was exiting. Rey mounted Jericho and punched him repeatedly in the face getting some revenge for Jericho’s assault last week!
C.M. Punk defeated Umaga: C.M. Punk defied the odds and put Umaga down with the Go-To-Sleep!
SIX-DIVA TAG TEAM MATCH
Michelle McCool & Alicia Fox & Layla El defeated Melina Perez & Gail Kim & Eve Torres: Maria Kanellis, looking very sexy in black and white stripes, was the special guest referee for the match! The finish saw Michelle detroyed WWE Women’s champion Melina and allowed Layla to get the pinfall over the champion!
The Great Khali w/Ranjin Singh defeated Dolph Ziggler:
EDITOR’S NOTE: PAY ATTENTION TNA.. this show has NO STUPID BACKSTAGE SKITS and it has been REALLY GREAT!
RINGSIDE: Justin Roberts recognized WWE Hall of Famer Koko B. Ware!
CHAMPION VS. CHAMPION NON-TITLE MATCH
World Heavyweight champion Edge defeated WWE Intercontinental champion Rey Mysterio: This match was given a lot of time, and the finish saw Mysterio hit Edge with a 619, but missed with the West Coast Pop (what do they call it now?). Edge recovered and pinned Mysterio after a Spear! After the match, Edge pulled out a ladder, but Jeff Hardy sprinted to the ring to stop him from doing any damage to Mysterio. Hardy set up the ladder in the corner and jumped over it landing on Edge’s head with a leg-drop! Todd Grisham exagerated, “a 15-foot leg drop off the ladder!!”
