IN THE RING
Chris Jericho + Edge: Chris Jericho said he has made a career out of doing what no one in the audience could ever dream to do. Chris said he has made an art form out of doing the impossible, and that he has stared down the barrel of an insurmountable odd, again and again, yet he always comes out on top. Chris said he did it when he beat The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin in the same night. Chris said he did it when he embarrassed Shawn Michaels in his own ladder match. Chris said last week he drove The Undertaker to his knees, and defeated him. They showed a video of him beating Taker last week. Chris said he beat The Undertaker a couple of times. Chris said he proved that the Dead man, is only a man. Chris said if that wasn’t enough to cement his legendary status in this business forever, this Sunday he is going to defy the odds again when he enters the Elimination Chamber for the 6th time, and become the World Champion again, for the 6th time. Chris said when average people are faced with adversities, they curl up and hide, lie to themselves, and lie to everyone around them. Chris said he doesn’t hide from anything, he doesn’t have to, he deals with reality, and the reality is on Sunday he is coming out of the Chamber, World Champion. Edge came out. Edge said its refreshing to hear that Chris understands what a big deal it is to beat Undertaker. Edge said its like getting a hole in one, winning the Stanley cup, or knocking out Mohammed Ali, except bigger. Chris said he did it, because he’s the best in the world at what he does. Edge said that Chris saying that, shows what’s wrong with him, and that his clip from last week didn’t show everything. They showed the clip of Edge spearing Undertaker last week. Edge said he didn’t do that to help him, he did that because Undertaker kicked him in the face. Edge said Chris isn’t as good as he thinks he is. Edge said he doesn’t think Chris would have beaten Undertaker If he hadn’t beaten him first. Chris said Edge shouldn’t be as concerned with the past as he is with the future, Chris said when he wins on Sunday, Edge should stay away from him. Chris said Edge should face the winner of the RAW Chamber, because when Chris is around Edge, bad things happen, and if Edge continues to poke and prod him, he won’t just beat him, he will hurt him! Edge said the more that he hears Chris voice buzzing around in his head saying the same things over and over again, makes him want to knock the condescending look off of his face! Edge said he hopes Chris wins the Chamber, so he can knock the look off his face. Edge said Chris shouldn’t be concerned with what Edge does in the future, he should be concerned with what he can do to him right now! The lights flickered a bit, and then Edge speared Chris!
Kane defeated Dolph Ziggler: Kane dominated Dolph for the opening minutes of the match. Dolph managed to get some offense in after elbowing a charging Kane in the face at the turnbuckle, but Kane took control quickly and clotheslined Dolph out of the ring. Back from commercial Dolph was wrenching on Kanes arm in a modified Fugiwara arm bar. Kane took control a second later and went for the top rope lariat but Drew McIntyres music came on, Drew came out and distracted Kane just long enough for Dolph to duck the lariat and lock in his sleeper hold of doom. Kane finally realized to just walk over and get rope break after about 30 seconds. Dolph tried to lock it in again but Kane threw him over his shoulder and then followed up with the chokeslam for the victory. After the match Drew ran in and went for the future shock DDT but Kane got out of it and threw Drew out of the ring
Josh Mathews & Rey Mysterio: Rey was in the locker room minding his own when Josh came out of nowhere, like he does 95% of the time. Josh asked Rey if he would leave as the World heavyweight champion on Sunday. Rey said based on his past experiences, the Elimination Chamber is brutal, but it is no more brutal then what happened to him last week when the SES jumped him and beat him up after his match with C.M. Punk. Rey said he took a beating of a life time, and he probably will again on Sunday, difference being he will be the World heavyweight champion.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Cryme Tyme (Shad Gaspard & JTG) defeated Caylen Croft & Trent Barreta: Caylen Croft and Trent Barreta are making their SmackDown! Debut. JTG stayed on step ahead of Croft, but JTG lost all momentum when he climbed to the top rope, Barreta distracted him and Croft pushed him out of the ring! Croft & Barreta worked on JTG for a long while before JTG was finally able to somersault under Barreta and get the hot tag to Shad! Shad exploded on Barreta and almost got the 3 but Croft broke it up. JTG ran in and was knocked out of the ring by Croft, Croft was then knocked out by Shad! Barreta drop kicked Shad in the back of the head and went for a tornado DDT but Shad reversed it into the STO for the 3! I guess Caylen Croft and Trent Barreta are now inducted into the jobber territory of most former ECW wrestlers.
Josh Mathews & John Morrison + R-Truth: Josh plugged John Morrisons new DVD and asked him if he was walking okay after he hurt his ankle last week. John said he’s waited for a World heavyweight championship title opportunity for a long time, ever since he stood in line with thousands of would be wrestlers for Tough Enough, to the day he was drafted to SmackDown! John said his entire career has led him to this Sunday, and if anyone thinks a tweaked ankle is going to stop him, they are dead wrong! John said sometimes in life you only get one opportunity, and he is going to make the most of his. R-Truth showed up and told Josh to go away. Truth said on Sunday at the Chamber, he is going to take the WWE Universe to levels they haven’t seen before! Truth said he’s riding it until the wheels fall of, and that if becoming World Champion means that he has to beat Morrison, it is what it is. Truth said tonight they have Straight Edge Society, and he wants to make sure they’re on the same page. Morrison said tonight they are going to beat C.M. Punk and Lukey Luke. They made a couple of dumb jokes and went out for their match.
TAG TEAM MATCH
Straight Edge Society (C.M. Punk & Luke Gallows w/Serena) defeated R-Truth & John Morrison by referee stoppage: Punk cut a promo before the match, saying he is a humble man, but he is also the greatest thing that has ever happened to the WWE, and they know it! Punk said only the enlightened few can only walk in his footsteps, but even if they don’t like it, they are all still a part of his crusade. Punk said for those of you that choose to live in darkness and get in his way, he finds their lack of faith disturbing. Punk said they sacrifice their clarity for cheap thrills, and just like 5 other superstars this Sunday, Punk said they will crush their spirit, break them, and turn them upside down and pour out what little heart they have, and fill the void with straight edge! Punk said they can all pretend they don’t have a problem, but they’re all just lying, straight edge means that Punk is better than you. Punk said he will prove it to all of them like he proved it to Rey Mysterio last week when he put him to sleep. Punk said for his entire existence, he has fought in a way that those cowards don’t have the courage to stand and fight. Punk said he is fueled by a fire inside of him, and this Sunday he will become a 4 time World champion, and his crusade will be burning bright, because all of those lost souls in the WWE Universe will have a savior, and his name is C.M. Punk. Morrison and Truth came out so the match could finally start. Morrison and Punk started, Morrison was selling that hurt ankle and tagged in Truth fairly quickly. Punk tagged in Gallows and a second later Undertakers fire pyro went off distracting everyone momentarily. Back from commercial Punk and Gallows were in control on Truth. Truth got the hot tag to Morrison who springboard kicked Gallows off the apron! Morrison momentarily took control but then Punk ducked, causing Morrison to hit his bad ankle on the ring post, so the referee stopped the match! After the match Punk continued to attack Morrisons ankle so Truth stepped in and knocked Punk down. Gallows came up behind Truth and attacked him while Serena attended to the downed Punk. Gallows hit the 12 step on Truth and Rey Mysterio came running down! Rey hit the west coast pop on Punk but ultimately ended up getting beaten up again, segment ended with SES posing around the downed Rey.
SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long + Vickie Guerrero + WWE Women’s champion Mickie James : Theodore was backstage watching and laughing at the video of Vickie getting covered in cottage cheese from last week. Vickie came up behind him and asked if he thought that was funny. Theodore said no, he doesn’t think she needs anymore cottage cheese! Vickie said it’s a shame Shawn Michaels didn’t leave a boot print on Theodores chin 2 weeks ago! Mickie came running in and said she wanted to apologize for last week, even though she got put in a handicap match. Mickie said she knows what it feels like to be embarrassed all the time and she never would have intentionally done that to Vickie. Vickie said she’s the sorry one, Michelle McCool invoked her rematch clause and has a match next week against Mickie! Mickie said she doesn’t mind, she wants to get her hands on Michelle! Vickie said there would be a special guest referee, Vickie!
6 PERSON MIXED TAG TEAM MATCH
The Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith & Natalya Neidhart) defeated The Great Khali & Matt Hardy & Maria Kanellis w/Runjin Singh: Natalya started off against Maria, easily dominating her. Maria managed to somehow take control, but Natalya got the tag to Tyson, forcing Maria to let go and tag in Matt. Hart Dynasty took care of Matt for a while, but Matt was able to level David Hart Smith with a side effect. Matt went to tag Khali but got knocked out of the ring and tagged In Maria by mistake. Maria continued to stare at Matt until Natalya pulled her into the ring. Everyone except the women began fighting outside the ring. Natalya won with a huge lariat to Maria. After the match Maria stormed off upset.
Matt Hardy & Maria Kanellis + Michelle McCool & Layla El: Matt Hardy asked Maria what was wrong. Maria said it’s one thing to lose by herself, she’s done that a lot, but it’s another thing to lose for the people she cares about. Hardy said he’s lost matches, and he’s won matches, but it doesn’t change the kind of person you are. Matt said no one is perfect, but when he looks at her face, he sees the closest thing (Editor’s note: Cheesy!). Hardy got ready to kiss Maria when Team Lay-Cool came in and told them to get a room. Lay-Cool made fun of Matt and Maria and told Matt not to kiss Maria because he’ll get cooties (they meant herpes). Lay-Cool asked why neither of them can win a match or make a relationship last. Maria got mad and stormed off, and then Matt told them to grow up, and also stormed off. Lay-Cool began complimenting each other and acting like children.
Edge vs. Batista ended in a No Contest: Batista tried walking away like he did in his match with C.M. Punk, but Edge grabbed the mic and said that his days of backing away from fights are over with, and that maybe John Cena is right, Batista IS spineless! Batista got annoyed and returned to the ring. Edge went for the spear early but Batista bailed from the ring. Back from commercial Batista was in control, he threw Edge into the ring post. Batista tried to Batista bomb Edge onto the steel steps but Edge back dropped Batista onto them! Edge jumped off the apron and hit Batista with a clothesline. They fought back and forth, hitting signature moves on each other and going for finishers when the lights went out. When they came back on Undertaker was holding Edge by the throat! Undertaker hit the chokeslam and the referee ended the match. Undertaker left Edge laying there. Edge struggled to get back up and walked into a code breaker from Chris Jericho!
