Vickie Guerrero + WWE Intercontinental champion Dolph Ziggler + Kofi Kingston + SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long: Vickie announced Dolph Ziggler to the ring. Vickie told everyone to check Dolph out because he is more electrifying than The Rock. Vickie said Dolph has more heart than Bret, and is sexier than Shawn Michaels. Vickie said Dolph is all hers. Dolph said there was one very special person he needed to thank because without them he wouldn’t be the IC champion. Dolph said if it wasn’t for this persons constant support, advice and backrubs, he wouldn’t be the total package you see before you tonight. Dolph said this person was Vickie Guerrero. Vickie said she couldn’t wait to leave the disgusting city and celebrate it Tahiti. Vickie said she was going to make the trip so romantic that Dolph wouldn’t have to lift a finger. Kofi Kingston came charging to the ring and attacked Dolph. Teddy Long came out and said he wasn’t going to let things go down like this. Teddy said unfortunately they will have to cancel their vacation plans because at SummerSlam Dolph will defend his title against Kofi Kingston. Teddy said tonight Dolph will go one on one with Rey Mysterio. Vickie said if Dolph is going to be in action so will Kofi, and Kofi will face Kane tonight. Teddy said Vickie was just the consultant; he is the one with the power. Kofi said he wasn’t a coward like Dolph and had no problem facing Kane.
NON (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT) TITLE MATCH
World Heavyweight champion Kane defeated Kofi Kingston: Kofi ran in kicking but Kane took him down with a big jab. Kofi had a brief burst of offence and even managed to drop kick Kane off the top turnbuckle and follow up with a suicide dive. Kofi went for TIP but Kane ducked causing Kofi to kick the steel ring post. Kane started focusing all of his offense on Kofi’s ankle. Kofi managed to hit the pendulum kick in the corner, but wound up taking a chokeslam off the top turnbuckle. Kane finished off Kofi with the tombstone for 3. After the match Kane said Rey attacked and incapacitated his brother. Kane said the guilt is throwing through Rey’s veins like a disease. Kane said it’s obvious that desperation was the motivation behind Rey’s actions. Kane said this Sunday Rey will pay for those actions. Kane said Rey’s lies are no match for the hellfire of the darkside. Kane said eternal darkness awaits Rey from the casket. Kane said his brother managed to reach out through the darkness, open his eyes and accuse Rey Mysterio. Kane said even in his blackest of moments he could never imagine the pain his brother is enduring knowing he will never be the dead man he once was. Kane said this Sunday vengeance will be delivered from the devils favorite demon. Rey Mysterio came out and said Rey was one of Gods humble servants. Rey said if there’s one person to take out Taker its Kane. Rey said Kane has been living in the shadow of his brother since they were born. Rey said Kane had the most to gain and was the one who found Taker. Rey said Kane stole the title and if Taker was here right now it would be in his hands. Rey said this Sunday it’s going to be in his hands. Rey said Kane will be one move away from the 619.
“Dashing” Cody Rhodes defeated Christian: Backstage Drew told Cody that if he doesn’t beat Christian, he’s not dashing, he’s just disappointing. Cody went straight for Christian’s bad arm but jumped back when Christian tried to boot him in the face. Christian managed to throw Cody out of the ring and jump onto him. Back from commercial Cody was attacking Christian’s arm. Drew McIntyre was shown watching the match in the back. Cody dominated Christian for the longest time until he hit a cross body off the top rope to gain some momentum. Christian hit some signature offense and nearly pinned Cody with a sunset flip, but Cody kicked out and hit the Alabama slam. Cody went for the springboard kick but Christian ducked it and punched Cody in the face. Cody freaked out, poked Christian in the eye, threw him into the turnbuckle shoulder first and hit the Cross Rhodes for 3.
1 ON 3 HANDICAP MATCH
The Big Show defeated Derek Werley & Jody Reese & Frenando Vega: Straight Edge Society watched the match from on stage. Big Show completely dominated the 3 jobbers and finished the last one off with a knockout punch for 3. After the match Luke Gallows tried to say something but Punk took it away and told him to speak when spoken too. Punk said he knows that Show’s hand hurts. Punk said Show’s pea brain can’t differentiate from the 3 ham and eggers in the ring and his sin free machine of self discipline that is going to crush him. Punk told Show to picture himself in a pit surrounded by an orchestra of virtue. Punk said he will be the conductor for the evening and they are going to play a symphony that sounds like his bones being broken under the boot of the SES. Punk said it’s a symphony he’s written just for Show and it is called “The Destruction Of The Big Show”.
Drew McIntyre defeated Matt Hardy: Matt and Drew fought back and forth until Matt back dropping Drew onto a leather chair outside of the ring and followed up with a side effect on the outside. Back in the ring Drew kicked Matt in the back and gave him a big sit down powerbomb. Matt turned an arm bar into an arm drag and speared Drew out of the ring. Drew speared Matt into the steel steps on the outside and stomped his left ankle into the steel steps. Matt could barely make it back into the ring on his ankle. Drew hit the future shock and pinned Matt.
Montel Vontavious Porter defeated Jack Swagger: Jack said he sees person after person looking for excuses to feel sorry for themselves because of how boring and unremarkable their lives are. Jack said he’s not like them. Jack said he actually has an excuse. Jack said over the last 2 months he’s been cheated out of his world title, thrown into the Gulf of Mexico, and he’s witnessed severe family trauma. Jack said he was up until 4 a.m. dealing with chronic diarrhea last night. Jack said it wasn’t his it was his fathers. Jack said he is the former World Heavyweight champion but he’s not even in the title match at SummerSlam. Jack said it’s official, SummerSlam has lost it’s Swagger. MVP came out and said all Swagger had were excuses. MVP said he understands that nobody cares about Jack’s problems. MVP said the WWE Universe doesn’t care, nobody in the arena cares, and he doesn’t care. Jack said everyone should care. Jack said they had this discussion last year. MVP said they did and just a few weeks later at SummerSlam MVP beat Jack Swagger. Jack hit MVP in the face with the microphone. Back from commercial Jack was beating up MVP in the ring. Jack completely dominated MVP until he went for the running Swagger bomb and met knees. MVP exploded on Jack and went for ballin’ but Jack got up and hit a big boot. Jack went for the ankle lock but MVP rolled him up for 3.
DCR GROOMING TIPS: “Dashing” Cody Rhodes taught us how to clean out our ears. You’re supposed to use cotton swabs and not put them too far into your ears.
NON (WWE INTERCONTINENTAL) TITLE MATCH
Rey Mysterio defeated WWE Intercontinental champion Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero: Dolph started out in control, Irish whipping Rey into the turnbuckle hard. Rey managed to roll up Dolph and follow up with a headscissors takedown. Dolph threw Rey face first into the middle turnbuckle and stomped on his throat. Dolph put in a headlock but Rey managed to fight out of it. Rey went for the 619 but Kane’s pryo hit and he came down to the ring with a casket. Back from commercial Dolph had the headlock back in. Rey fought back and sent Dolph shoulder first into the ring post. Rey managed to put a sleeper onto Dolph at one point but Dolph quickly fought out of it and hit a snapmare. Rey managed to roll up Dolph for 3 soon after. Kane tried getting into the ring but Rey hit reverse 619. Rey ended up knocking Kane into the casket. Kane quickly got out and ran away.
