“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

Footage is shown of Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre decimating Roman Reigns last night on RAW. All of a sudden, The Undertaker made a shocking return to help Reigns fight them off.

Shane McMahon is backstage. McMahon says Roman Reigns was so afraid of being defeated that he called on The Dead Man. McMahon doesn’t fear The Undertaker. He’s looked death in the eye and survived. McMahon warns the Smackdown roster not to get on his bad side because he is pissed.

“AWW PORTLAND! DON’T YOU DARE BE SOUR! CLAP FOR YOUR WORLD-FAMOUS 5-TIME CHAMPS AND YOUR WWE CHAMPION… AND FEEL THE POWER!”

The New Day makes their way to the ring. Kofi Kingston will be defending his WWE Championship against Samoa Joe at WWE Extreme Rules. Kingston says since winning the WWE Title, he’s experienced some of the greatest moments of his career and life. A “Kofi” chant fires up. On the flip side of that, he’s experienced some of the most painful, agonizing moments as well. Defending the title in a Steel Cage at Stomping Grounds was a combination of those things. He fought Dolph Ziggler in the cage and took an actual leap of faith to remain victorious. Before he had a chance to celebrate and take a victory lap, this happened on RAW. Footage is shown of Samoa Joe viciously attacking Kingston and giving him a uranage on the stage.

Kingston says that was brutal, devastating, agonizing, and incredibly painful. Samoa Joe is like a Samoan Shark. When he applies that Coquina Clutch, it’s like a Great White Shark squeezing you until your world fades to black. Joe think that at Extreme Rules he’s a shark that has found his prey, but he’ll be damned if he lets him eat him alive.

Dolph Ziggler’s music hits, and he comes out on stage. Ziggler says he refuses to let this happen again. Ziggler did the heavy lifting and now some superstar is going to stroll in and take his spot? That’s not going to happen. The people can turn a blind eye to him, but Kingston knows better than this. This isn’t a joke or a game. This is his career, his life, his livelihood. This is everything. At Super ShowDown, Xavier Woods saved Kingston. At Stomping Grounds when they went face-to-face, toe-to-toe in a Steel Cage, they beat the hell out of each other for the WWE Championship… and Kingston took the coward’s way out and leaped out the door to save his title. Everyone knows Ziggler should be WWE Champion right now. The crowd boos this. Speaking of people who believe in him more than they believe in Kingston, he was talking backstage with WWE management where they let him know that if he wins his match against Kingston tonight, he’ll be added to the WWE Championship match at Extreme Rules. Then and only then will he truly get what he deserves: the WWE Championship. Also, management let him know that Kingston can’t take the coward’s way out tonight because it’s 2-out-of-3 Falls. Ziggler walks off.

Smackdown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan and Rowan are walking backstage. Huskus The Pig appears in the background. They’ll face Big E and Xavier Woods, next.
