Matt Striker + NXT Rookies: Matt welcomed everyone to a very special NXT before introducing the rookies. Matt said he wanted to acknowledge what they achieved last night on RAW. They showed the video of the rookies defeating John Morrison and the J.O.B squad. Matt asked the fans to give the rookies a standing ovation. Matt said last week he asked them who they thought should be eliminated, and showed the video of Michael Tarver saying he should be eliminated. Matt said WWE management feels if a superstar doesn’t believe in himself, how could anyone believe in the superstar, Michael Tarver is eliminated! Michael threw a temper tantrum before leaving. They showed the video of Daniel saying he should be eliminated. Matt said Daniel Bryan has been eliminated too! Daniel left without a word. Matt said WWE management threw them a curve ball, there will be a third member eliminated tonight! Matt said Wade Barrett and Heath Slater were in action next.
SINGLES MATCH
Wade Barrett defeated Heath Slater: Heath hit Wade with a drop kick before clotheslining him out of the ring. Heath jumped out of the ring but Wade dodged it and clotheslined Heath before throwing him into the dasher boards. Wade put Heath back in the ring and pinned him for 2. Wade went for his finisher a minute later but Heath fought out of it and hit a neckbreaker. Heath went for a cross body block but Wade caught him and hit his finisher for 3.
BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
Matt Striker & Michael Tarver: Matt asked Michael if he thought the ruling was fair. Michael asked if he had any idea what it was like to sleep in a car and not know how to take care of your children. Michael thought the ruling was fair, but the contest was not. Matt asked if Michael’s peculiar strategy was his way of being noticed. Michael said he’s made a living of taking crumbs and making a feast. Michael said there’s no way you could put him in a crowd and not notice him, and if you didn’t he’ll make you notice. Matt asked him what was next but Michael left.
SINGLES MATCH
Skip Sheffield w/William Regal defeated Darren Young: Darren tried doing the 10 punches in the corner but Skip slammed him against the turnbuckle and used his strength to take control. Darren rolled out of the way of a running splash and hit 2 reverse atomic drops before knocking down Skip with a clothesline. Skip fought out of a full nelson and hit a backpack chin breaker for 3.
BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW
Matt Striker & Daniel Bryan: Matt asked Daniel if he thought being eliminated was fair. Daniel said it was. Daniel said he never makes excuses and he’ll find a way to make it somehow. Matt asked Daniel if he regrets leaving the indies. Daniel said Daniel Bryan was never in the indies, if you search his name on YouTube you won’t see anything but WWE. Daniel said there was this guy who was kicking people’s heads in, people said he was the greatest wrestler in the world; he was a champion in America and overseas. Matt asked what was next. Daniel said it was the end of Daniel Bryan, he can’t even beat rookies but can take Batista to the limit. Daniel said Daniel Bryan might be done, but God knows what’s going to happen to Bryan Danielson!
SINGLES MATCH
David Otunga defeated Justin Gabriel: Justin took down David with a fireman’s carry and took control until he attempted a springboard drop kick but had his legs pushed off the ropes by David. David locked in an abdominal stretch but Justin got out of it and hit some hard kicks. David hung up Justin on the ropes and kicked him in the chest. David won with a crappy looking urinage moments later.
RINGSIDE
Matt Striker & NXT Rookies: Matt said the rookies minds must be racing; they’ve made their entire life for this moment. Matt said first he wants to ask people the same question he asked last week. Darren Young said Wade Barrett should be eliminated. Heath Slater said David Otunga. Matt asked Heath why he said that, and Heath said David doesn’t belong here. Matt told Justin he has immunity for this week. Justin said he didn’t real care who gets eliminated, but it should be David Otunga because he has an attitude problem. Skip said this was his show to win, but it’s time to separate the men from the boys, David Otunga should go on. Skip said David doesn’t belong with the rest of them. David said all of them should be eliminated because they don’t match up to him. Matt told him to pick one so David said the one man hick band Heath Slater. David said Heath is a wannabe who copied his style. Wade said it doesn’t really matter who gets eliminated because they’ll all drop in the end but if he had to say one man it would be David Otunga. Matt said the pros have evaluated the rookies. Wade Barrett is #1, David Otunga is #2, Justin Gabriel is #3, and Heath Slater is #4. Matt told Darren Young and Skip Sheffield to step forward. Matt said one of them would live to fight another day. Darren Young is #5 so Skip Sheffield got eliminated! Matt asked Skip his thoughts. Skip said from day one he’s been misguided. Skip said they haven’t seen the real Skip Sheffield, but William Regal is not to blame. Skip said he should have listened to Regal, everything happens for a reason, and he will be back! Matt told them not to get too comfortable because next week another one of them will be eliminated, and some will remain.
