IN THE RING: Ashley Valence welcomed everyone to NXT and explained the voting situation to them for the poll next week. Ashley introduced the WWE Pros (it sounded like she said “NXT Pose).
TAG TEAM MATCH
Mike “The Miz” Mizanin & Alex Riley defeated Montel Vontavious Porter & Percy Watson: Percy danced around like a moron before the match. Riley and MVP started off but MVP tagged in Percy. Riley took Percy down with a shoulder block and began taunting him. Percy took down Riley with 2 drop kicks and a drop toehold. Percy tagged in MVP and they hit Riley with a double hip toss. Riley was thrown from the ring and Miz started yelling at him on the outside. Miz tagged in and so did Percy. Miz rushed Percy and took him down with a vertical suplex. Miz tagged Riley back in who splashed Percy at the turnbuckle. The ref got distracted and Miz choked Percy on the ropes. Riley locked in a headlock. Percy took Riley down with a jawbreaker and MVP tagged in. MVP hit Riley with ballin’ while Miz yelled at him to move. Riley kicked MVP in the knee and knocked him into the turnbuckle before tagging in Miz. Percy took down Miz with a flying clothesline. Percy splashed onto Miz but Riley broke up the pin. MVP took Riley out of the ring and Miz hit Percy with the skull crushing finale for 3.
SINGLES MATCH
Michael McGillicutty w/Kofi Kingston defeated Titus O’Neil w/Zack Ryder: Titus threw Michael into the turnbuckle but Michael retaliated with a head butt. Titus slammed Michael back into the turnbuckle and Irish whipped him twice. Titus started stomping on Michael and clotheslined him after another Irish whip. Michael locked in a head lock. Michael fought out of it but was dropped awkwardly by Titus before being body slammed. Titus jumped onto Michael but he got the knees up and won with a spinning neckbreaker moments later.
SINGLES MATCH
Eli Cottonwood w/John Morrison defeated Kaval (w/Michelle McCool & Layla): Kaval kicked Eli but was thrown into the turnbuckle. Kaval fought back with kicks but Eli caught him and threw him into another turnbuckle. Eli picked up Kaval in a bear hug. Kaval managed to lock in an arm bar by the ropes and then kicked Eli in the bad arm. Eli was hit with a springboard kick but retaliated by throwing Kaval across the ring. Kaval springboard stomped Eli in the back of the head. Eli grabbed Kaval and hit a weird chokeslam like move for 3 because ROH wrestlers under 200 pounds aren’t allowed to do well on NXT.
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT
Kaval + WWE Women’s champions Lay-Cool (Michelle McCool & Layla): Kaval was in pain when Lay-Cool walked in and told him it was okay. They said third time was the charm so he would win next time. Lay-Cool asked if he was with them and Kaval said yes so they told him to close his eyes and gave him a pink shirt that said property of Lay-Cool on it. Kaval said it was wonderful and asked if he had to wear it. Kaval started looking pissed so they forced him to smile.
5 MINUTE CHALLENGE
Cody Rhodes w/Husky Harris defeated Lucky Cannon w/Mark Henry: Cody said Cannon would be lucky if he could last 5 minutes with him, so they’re going to have a 5 minute challenge. Cody forced Cannon into the turnbuckle and made him look at the clock. Cody kneed Cannon in the gut and took him down in a side headlock. Cody took down Cannon with a drop kick and Cannon rolled out of the ring. Cody attacked Cannon on the outside and threw him back in the ring. Cody locked in a gory special but Cannon reversed it into a roll up. Cannon took down Cody with a big boot for 2. Cody took down Cannon with a springboard kick to the face and then finished him off with Cross Rhodes with 1:02 left on the clock.
IN THE RING
Matt Striker & NXT Rookies: Matt said it’s been 3 weeks since they’ve set foot in the WWE and now they’re on the precipice of a milestone. Matt said 1 week from tonight the WWE Universe and Pros will voice they’re opinions. Matt said he would give them one last chance to win over the hearts of the Pros and Universe. Matt said they would each have 45 seconds to tell the fans why they deserve to win. Alex Riley went first and said he doesn’t need 45 seconds. Alex asked if they recognize him because 10 years ago he was stuffing those nerds in lockers and stealing lunch money. Alex said nothings changed except now he gets paid to beat up losers. Kaval said 10 years ago he tried to get into the WWE but they told him he was too small. Kaval said he’s going to prove that it’s not the size of the fighter, but then he was cut off. Titus said he’s had to work just like everyone else for everything he’s gotten. Titus said in the end he will make it a win. Michael said he made it a win tonight. Michael said he possesses no weakness and he’s undefeated. Michael said his name was Michael McGillicutty and he is the WWE’s next breakout star. Eli said he’s the baddest and meanest and he’s willing to do things no one else is. Eli said he’s patient and when he strikes he does it with vengeance. Eli said his actions speak louder than his words. Percy said he likes to have a good time like the WWE Universe. Percy said he’s a heavy hitter and not a quitter. Percy said he gets better everyday and then he said oh yeah. Cannon said people have always called him lucky because he wakes up every single morning and stands on his own 2 feet and gets to do what he loves to do every week. Cannon said he appreciates what he has and he is the next breakout star. Husky Harris said he doesn’t need 45 seconds and then attacked Matt Striker and hit the running senton on him!
