7/12 Raw TV results from Lexington, KY: Alicia Fox over Gail Kim; The Uso’s & Tamina over The Hart Dynasty & Natalya; Edge over Randy Orton; Mark Henry vs. Miz was a double CO; Santino Marella, Goldust, Kozlov & Great Khali over William Regal, Primo, Zach Ryder & Doink (Steve Lombardi), and Nexus over John Cena in a handicap match. Dark match was Kaval over Alex Riley.

7/13 NXT TV results from Louisville, KY: Mark Henry & Lucky Cannon over The Miz & Alex Riley; and Nexus won a battle royal.

The voice of Jim Ross was removed from the 20-second opening of Raw since he’s no longer going to be utilized as an announcer. Apparently this was a decision made by WWE Producer Kevin Dunn. It’s not a major deal as they tweaked other stuff too including removing clips of Hall of Famers Gorilla Monsoon, Superstar Billy Graham and Bruno Sammartino.

A women managed to jump the rail and get in the ring with John Cena after Raw went off the air. Security grabbed her but she latched her legs around the ropes–said to be quite the struggle which took three security staffers and a referee to eject her.

Raw did a 3.3 rating and averaged 4.8 million viewers, down slightly from last Monday.

NXT on Tuesday night did a 1.1 rating and 1.45 million viewers–it’s highest mark in several week’s.

The 7/2 edition of Smackdown did a 1.7 rating and averaged 2.6 million viewers.

Ryan O’Reilly (Ryan Parmeter, 30) and Aaron Stevens (Aaron Haddad, 28) were both offered a second chance at developmental deals this week.
Stevens, who has spent the last two years wrestling in Puerto Rico, had a tryout at the TV tapings in Louisville. Local indy wrestler JD Maverick also had a tryout working with Alberto Del Rio.

Eve Torres talks about how her BJJ training has helped her wrestling career at http://tinyurl.com/2v2s2cl. “Being on the road, travelling four or five days a week, as a woman, it’s pretty important that I can defend myself. It’s something I’ve always been passionate about. I strongly believe it’s the only martial art women should learn because it’s based on leverage and technique. It’s so effective.” She also puts over Fit Finlay who has been the unofficial girl-agent behind the scenes for years. “I don’t know where I’d be without him today. He’s helped me tremendously in my matches, in psychology and technique,” she said.

Melina Perez is working off ring rust in developmental this week but isn’t allowed to appear before a live crowd. She’s been sidelined since December after tearing her ACL at a house show in New Hampshire.

Hollywood actor Paul Giamatti said he turned down the forthcoming WWE Studios movie Chasing the Hawk. The film will star Edge as a lawyer hunting down a stolen car.

NFL legend and Wrestlemania 11 headliner Lawrence Taylor plead not guilty Tuesday to felony charges of third-degree rape and third-degree criminal sexual act as well as several misdemeanors. Taylor was arrested on 5/6 after visiting a runaway teenage prostitute in New York. A trial is scheduled for 8/24.
TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION WRESTLING

The Hard Justice pay-per-view on 8/8 will involve matches with TNA wrestlers against an ECW faction of Tommy Dreamer, Rob Van Dam, Mick Foley, Raven, Stevie Richards, Rhino, Simon Diamond, Brother Devon and Al Snow. The angle, which also involed Dixie Carter, was shot at the TV tapings this week with the former ECW guys laying out the locker room.

Dreamer partially tore his meniscus at the tapings when he took a bump off the stage. He’s going to work around the injury and try to keep his record of never having surgery intact.

A young boy jumped the ring during a Matt Morgan-Mr. Anderson match at the tapings on Tuesday. Security got the boy out of there but apparently he ruined the finish of the match.

The company recently contacted some ROH wrestlers not under contract about coming in for a tryout.

Ric Flair‘s wife Jackie Beems was cleared of misdemeanor assault charges Tuesday after Flair refused to testify against her. The couple had gotton into a physical altercation at their home in Charlotte following a night of drinking back on 2/23. They have long since reconciled.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked AJ Styles No. 1 in its annual Top 500 list of pro wrestler’s in the world. He’s the first TNA wrestler to hold that spot that has never worked for WWE. The magazine goes on sale on 8/3.

Impact for the week ending 7/1 in the UK did around 120,000 viewers beating all the first run WWE shows that week.

Foley is also going to India next week on the promotional tour with Angle and Lethal.

The La Porte Herald-Argus has a story on TNA coming to town at http://tinyurl.com/37fsnxm. PR Manager Chris Thomas is quoted saying that live events are more family-friendly than television and fans won’t see any blood at these shows.

Chris Hamrick, 43, best known for his appearances in the original ECW, attempted suicide on Tuesday. He had posted some strange messages on his Facebook page including, “BIG announcement tonight. Stay tuned. Its to die for!” followed later by “Hey world I just took 25 sleeping pills.
Goodnight !” He had also sent out what were described as unusual text messages to friends. Last night authorities visited Hamrick’s residence in Rutherfordton, NC, to check on his welfare. He’s said to be getting the help he needs now with the support of his family.

Florida indy wrestler Chasyn Rance, 27, was arrested Sunday and charged with lewd or lascivious battery, according to a report by the Orlando Sentinel. A 17-year-old girl from California recently filed charges in Orange County claiming that Rance took advantage of her two years ago during a trip to Orlando to visit her father. The girl, then 15, wrote in her diary about drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana and having intercourse with Rance, then 25, at his home after a wrestling show. The girl’s mother read the diary in March and subsequently contacted the sheriff’s office. Rance, who recently appeared on VH-1’s Tool Academy reality series, was released from the Orange County Jail Monday on $3,500 bond. Full story is at http://tinyurl.com/352v4rq.

There is talk of a new upstart promotion in Florida with a major backer in the form of entrepreneur Milton Wilpon, who’s family own the New York Mets. The business end will be run by Pete Karoftis and Sean Davis.
Several former WWE and TNA names have been signed up to the project including Leon “Vader” White and Sean Waltman. Little else is known at this point but those involved signed non-disclosure agreements.

Kansas City promotion Metro Pro Wrestling has shut down following its first set of TV tapings. Former WWE creative writer Chris Gough was working on the project with NWA promoter Dave Marquez.

“Mr. America” Steve Stanlee (Paul Oswald Zygowicz) passed away in Wisconsin on 7/2 at age 90. Memorial services are in Lake Geneva on 7/29. Greg Oliver has a nice obit at http://tinyurl.com/2eswju5.

Midget wrestler Robert “Cowboy Bob” Bradley passed away in Amarillo on 6/24. He was 75. Bradley toured Texas with a midget troupe during the 1950s and 1960s. He retired from wrestling in 1970 and moved to Las Vegas where he worked as a blackjack dealer. He’s survived by his daughter; three brothers; six sisters; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ring of Honor will tape it’s next internet PPV on 9/11 in New York City.
