Gail Kim talks about Lei’D Tapa leaving TNA, the Knockouts division, and much more

Gail KimGail Kim talks about Lei’D Tapa leaving TNA, the Knockouts division, and much more during her recent appearance on Smartasses Radio.

Below are highlights, courtesy of TNA Asylum:

Her thoughts on the TNA product:
“Impact Wrestling has really shaken things up. You see a lot of new young talent that they’re trying like Ethan Carter and The Wolves who are really great additions. Ethan, I’ve worked with in WWE when he was in NXT and I remember thinking, ‘Wow, this guy has a lot of charisma.’ I was shocked to see him be released, but that was a blessing in disguise for us because we got a hell of a talent. I think people are going to see us invest in younger talent and new faces and really just try things and see what works.”

M.V.D. – Most Valuable Diva

MVDM.V.D. – Most Valuable Diva” is a weekly column where a WWE Diva or TNA Knockout is named the Most Valuable Diva of the Week based on their overall performance. The divas/knockouts that compete in matches and/or take part in segments automatically get nominated for Most Valuable Diva.

This week’s nominees for M.V.D. are:

Taryn Terrell: For the past few months, Taryn Terrell had a lot of tension with Gail Kim, and at Slammiversary, Taryn was looking to settle things by competing in the first-ever Last Knockout Standing Match against Gail Kim. The match consisted of “Holy Shit” chants and some great spots, including the chair crossbody, figure four leg locks around the ring post, and a cutter from off the stage. Taryn Terrell ultimately won the match and a lot of respect from wrestling fans. If any women’s wrestling fan called Taryn’s performance in this match a hot mess, they should visit the nearest eye doctor ASAP!

This week’s nominees for M.V.D. are:

The Bella Twins: Brie Bella faced Funkadactly Naomi on RAW with sister Nikki by her side. The twins pulled their usual “Twin Magic” off, and Brie, or should I say Nikki, got the win. After the match, Cameron had the referee reverse his decision after finding out about the switcheroo. The Bellas took offense and beat down The Funkadactlys. As far as I can tell, this is not the last we’ve seen of The Bellas vs. The Funkadactlys.

This week’s nominees for M.V.D. are:

Gail Kim: At Lockdown, Gail Kim had her sights set on Velvet Sky and the Knockouts Championship. If Gail were to have won the match, not only would she have became the new KO champion, she would have also continued her undefeated streak at Lockdown. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out that way. After weeks of pushing referee Taryn Terrell’s buttons, Gail lost the match after Taryn snapped and attacked her. After the match, Gail got the last laugh when she attacked Taryn after the match. On Impact, Gail teamed with Tara to face Mickie James and Velvet Sky. Once again, Gail pushed Taryn’s buttons, and she was on the receiving end of a slap.
