AS I SEE IT: The “Other” Wrestlemania Weekend Events Bob Magee Pro Wrestling: Between the Sheets PWBTS.com
With Fastlane over, WWE is really moving into the home stretch for Wrestlemania weekend.
Along with the many activities WWE will present during Wrestlemania weekend, independent promotions will be putting on their share of wrestling shows, a convention, and other fan events.
The largest group of events will be held under the auspices of WWNLive. Events take place at Eddie Deen Ranch, 944 South Lamar St, Dallas, TX; which despite the name…is in the heart of Dallas, TX; immediately adjacent to light rail. Mass transit, however, is not an option for the The Authentic Texas BBQ Tailgate (pre-Wrestlemania tailgate) or Wrestlemania, as the TRE train line (which would go directly from downtown Dallas to AT&T) does not operate on Sundays. Unlike the San Francisco Bay Area, Dallas-Fort Worth doesn’t place much of a priority on public transit.
Dallas lives by a series of private bus services to service large events at AT&T, including Wrestlemania Rally Bus, which provides the service for Dallas Cowboys game days, is doing so for Wrestlemania. You can check out options at Rallybus.net.
For those going to WWNLive Experience 2016 events, WWN and Hotel Indigo Hotels teamed up to provide the patrons of the WWNLive Experience 2016 with great rates and accommodations. There are two official hotels that WWNLive has deals with:
* Hotel Indigo Dallas Downtown, 1933 Main Street, Dallas, TX. Rooms are available (Double Queen) for $159
* Aloft Dallas Downtown, 1033 Young Street, Dallas, TX. Rooms are available King Loft – $165/Double Queen – $175.
WWNLive Experience features Evolve Wrestling, Shimmer Women Athletes, Combat Zone Wrestling, Kaiju Big Battel, and the WWN Supershow: Mercury Rising. All WWNLive Experience events will be streaming live on WWNLive.com.
All events take place at Eddie Deen Ranch, 944 S Lamar St, Dallas, TX.

The buses to AT&T Stadium will run from approximately 10:00 am-5:00 pm CT and will leave as they fill up (approximately 50 seats). AT&T stadium is approximately 30 minutes from Downtown Dallas. However, we are allowing up to 1 hour due to traffic conditions. After the event, the buses will return to Downtown Dallas as they fill up, with the final bus leaving approximately 2 hours after the event has ended. Then, right across the street from AT&T Stadium, The Authentic Texas BBQ Tailgate hosted by Wrestling Legend Terry Funk. The BBQ Tailgate will take place on Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 from 11 AM – 5 PM. Tickets are $25 per person. An additional Terry Funk Meet and Greet will take place for $30 (includes 1 autograph and 1 photo opportunity with the legendary Terry Funk)
You can also go to Morethanmania.com for tickets and up to date information on any or all of the events.
The other convention is WrestleCon, along with independent events and Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor shows. All events, the fan convention, and the shows associated with it will be held at the iconic Downtown Hyatt Regency hotel, known for Reunion Tower (aka “The Orb” to locals). Readers have seen it featured in any skyline shot of Dallas, attached to the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance to the Downtown Dallas Convention Center and 1 stop on local DART buses. DART Red and Blue Lines and TRE light rail are connected to the hotel via underground concourse to the hotel and Union Station.
There will be 3 live events including 2 from ROH and the annual WrestleCon SuperShow (one Friday night, one Saturday afternoon, and one on Saturday evening) being held at the Hyatt Regency that will all be separately ticketed events held in a 15,000 SF ballroom that will accommodate about 1,200 fans per live event.
First, the two Ring of Honor shows. April 1 features Supercard of Honor X: night one at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. Doors open 5:00 pm/7:30 pm bell time. Supercard of Honor X: night two takes place April 2, also at the Hyatt. Doors open 12:30 pm /2:00 pm bell time. The Ring of Honor shows are a separate admission ticket from the Wrestlecon events.
Then… Wrestlecon will feature an expo area on both Friday and Saturday (10:00-5:00pm) where wrestlers and vendors from around the world give you the opportunity to take pictures and obtain autographs from your favorites. In Dallas, it will be held in a 39,000 SF indoor space and have over 100 vendor tables. There will also be greater emphasis on a Q&A area where we hope to have interactive opportunities that go beyond the typical autograph/photo ops of a typical convention.

Party bus round trip bus transfers to/from Mania to the host hotel. This is open to WrestleCon/Hyatt guests first. Fairfield guests may be allowed to book the bus transportation if space is available. There will be four luxury buses and over 200 spots available so you won’t ever have to wait for a bus to arrive, with guaranteed seats. Buses will park at the AT&T stadium bus lot. The buses will leave as they fill up and the last bus will leave the hotel approximately 90-minutes before Mania begins. AT&T Stadium is approximately 30 minutes from Downtown Dallas. Buses will also return to the hotel as they fill up, with the final bus leaving 1 hour after Mania has ended.
As said with the WWN events, mass transit is not an option to travel to Wrestlemania, as the TRE train line (which would go directly from downtown Dallas to AT&T) does not operate on Sundays.
So in all cases, rent a car, or reserve space on one of the private buses traveling from these two independent weekends…and leave EARLY.
