WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT NEWS

7/30 Superstars TV results: John Morrison over Tyson Kidd; William Regal over Yoshi Tatsu; and Randy Orton over Primo Colon.

WWE are back on the road this weekend. The Raw crew runs tonight at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark; Saturday at the Stabler Arena, Bethlehem, PA; Sunday at the Civic Center in White Plains, NY; and TV is Monday at the Sun Arena in Mohegan Sun, CT with Jeremy Piven as guest host and Triple H vs. The Legacy in a handicap match.

The ECW Smackdown crew run tonight at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, NH. Then Saturday and Sunday they have two crews out running in Manchester, NN; Cohasset, MA; Verona, NY; and Hyannis, MA.
Monday they run the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA and TV is Tuesday at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY.

Smackdown tonight has Cryme Tyme vs. The Hart Dynasty; Michelle McCool & Layla vs. Eve & Melina; Rey Mysterio & Finlay vs. Dolph Ziggler & Mike Knox; Great Khali vs. Charlie Haas; and Jeff Hardy vs. John Morrison for the World title.

Freddie Kruger actor Robert Englund turned down an offer to host an upcoming edition of Raw due to a scheduling conflict, according to his rep.

7-Eleven sent out a release announcing their partnership with WWE to promote SummerSlam. The company will be offering collectible cups featuring John Cena, Triple H, Edge, Undertaker and Kelly Kelly. There is also a TV commercial with Kelly that will debut soon on Raw.

The Orange Leader at http://tinyurl.com/nxqhjw has a story on WWE Hall of Famer “Big Cat” Ernie Ladd’s inauguration into the Grambling University Sports Hall of Fame.

Tickets for Survivor Series in Washington, DC officially go on sale on Satutday. There is an Internet pre sale at midnight using the password “vipwwe”.

Randy Orton will feature on  upcoming TV ads for HMV in the UK, according to Marketing Magazine. HMV’s campaign in the past has featured celebrities such as Bob Dylan, Sir Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Weller, Martin Scorsese and George Lucas.

7/30 Impact TV results from Orlando, FL: Hernandez over Samoa Joe; AJ Styles over Matt Morgan in their best of three series for a title shot; Awesome Kong, Tara, & ODB over The Beautiful People; The British Invasion over Team 3D to win the IWGP tag titles; Mick Foley & Bobby Lashley over Kurt Angle & Kevin Nash with the TNA title and Legends title both at stake – Foley wins the Legends title.

The Hard Justice line up thus far is Kurt Angle defending the TNA title vs. Sting, and either Morgan or Styles in a three-way.

There are no house shows this weekend.

There are talks of a major shake up within the company today. Its believed several cuts have been made but we can’t confirm any names at press time.

Shark Boy returns at the next TV tapings. He was last brought in for a house show in May in which he was sent home after developing flu-like symptoms.

Tickets for the only remaining PPV in 2009 away from Orlando go on sale Saturday. Bound For Glory takes place on 10/18 from the Bren Events Center at the University of California. For more info go to www.tnawrestling.com.

The Frederick News Post at http://tinyurl.com/mqypbw has a story on King Kong Bundy pushing a local show. He noted dropping weight down to 310 from over 400lbs.

Wrestling legend Verne Gagne is alive. Somebody edited his Wikipedia page on Thursday to the contrary, and one wrestling website even reported his demise based on that. His son Greg dispelled the myth the same day.

Scott Hall also turned up alive and well after friends had been trying to reach for the past several days. He appears on Sunday at Justin Credible’s Icons of Pro Wrestling convention at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Cromwell, CT.

www.ClubWWI.com has a new interview up with former Erik Watts. The interview covers a variety of topics including the story of how his WCW parking lot brawl with Arn Anderson almost got him arrested for real, how Diamond Dallas Page lost a major insurance policy because of wrestling confusion, the call that brought him to WCW, signing with WWE, the country music video he and Goldilocks were supposed to be in, why it didn’t happen, advice to Indy stars looking to profit on unused plane tickets, why BG James was upset with his PPV payout, WWE forcing wrestlers to fly in for free gifts, how much WCW spent on Glacier’s outfit alone, and more.

Indy promoter Norm Connors announced that he will be retiring at the end of this year.

Ric Flair will be unveiled as the official face of the Carolina lottery within the next few weeks.

On her relationship with her mother she said to repair the rift Linda would need to “go through a lot of changes – spiritually, mentally and physically.” She said of her dad, Hulk: “He was always a good dad, but he’s been really getting into the spiritual side of stuff now. He’s been reading a lot of books and he’s also started praying to God, so he’s just been really calm and his kids are his top priority.”

Meanwhile, Brooke’s latest album The Redemption has thus far sold 3,381 units, and is currently listed at No. 144 on the Billboard 200.
Undiscovered, her debut album in 2006, sold 127,000 units with less press, making her latest effort pretty much a disaster.
