WRESTLING COLUMNS
The Way I See It

Greetings and welcome to my very first column here on this website. To start things off I must thank Brad Dykens and the staff at OnlineWorldofWrestling.com for allowing me this opportunity. I have always wanted to write a guest column, and after stumbling upon this site I must say, in true Foley fashion, that you will find the best wrestling info RIGHT HERE AT OWW!!! Ok, enough with the tirade, on to the column.
Contrary to popular belief, I still enjoy the WWE, but like most fans I don't care much for the McMahon presence on TV, especially Vince. I for one feel it is time for the Chairman of the Board to return to the drawing board to refresh the product and give us good matches that we can be proud of. I do enjoy Stephanie's angles and Shane's as well, but to main event themselves when better talent surrounds them is just plain wrong. Of course, the whole HHH theory has worn itself out too, and thank God that the belt went to Goldberg when it did. If HHH wanted to be like the champions of old and hold it for more than a year, well I think he needs to find a time machine because these days it just don't work. We fans enjoy variety, and better men deserve their chance at the gold.

The only downside to the SmackDown! product that I see is the entire Vince/Sable relationship. Now before I get booed out of this column let me say that Sable may be very attractive to the eyes, but if she represents "eye candy" these days then I lost my appetite. I think that more beautiful women are in the promotion now, and what she did to her ex really shows her true colors. Honestly, how many of you out there are tired of seeing Vince make out with Sable right in front of Linda" I say that story has gotten very old and is time for someone to hit the Refresh button very quickly.
All this being said the matches themselves on SmackDown! really are what makes the show. I enjoyed Tajiri/Ultimo Dragon match from this past Thursday (10/9), and hope that more are on the way. As for Raw, they shouldn't be the ones that go live during the week. I find that I would much rather read the results of Raw and watch SmackDown! then the other way around, but I still find myself watching just because there is a hope that things will change for the better, and many times I have been surprised.
I recently read that WWE is now blaming Viacom for the loss of ratings on Monday nights, citing that due to the name change to Spike TV, many people can't find Raw on their TV. Well, I buy that on along with my ocean front property in Arizona. The real problem has been around for a few years and that is that Vince has to be the only promotion out there, and will stop at nothing to keep others from making it. Hopefully, this is beginning to change, as now I see NWA-TNA starting to come to the forefront.
Due to a problem with TNA and Dish Network I have been unable to catch their shows, but what I have seen from here and from friends who have ordered it, they are impressive. Hey guys, thanks again, you have just given me the reason I need to get rid of this satellite and get a better one! I do hope that NWA can come into their own and give Vince a run for his money. Maybe then he will listen to the fans and give us what we want. Yeah, right and Wheaties aren't for breakfast either!! (A guy can dream, can't he")
All in all, no matter what, I will still watch wrestling. I enjoy everything about it and now it has given me strength in another favorite past time of mine, and that is writing. So I hope you have enjoyed this, my first in what I hope will be a series of columns, and I hope that I have challenged you in some way to think about that spectacle that we enjoy so much. Thanks again and until next time, this is the way I see it.
