WRESTLING COLUMNS
WWE Hall is Lame

Let me go ahead and acknowledge the fact that I am complaining. My first attempt at a column will be a whiny, bitchy one.
Recenty the WWE held its Hall of Fame inductions. My biggest objection is the WWE is a relatively new organization, less than five years old, I believe. Only three of its esteemed honorees have ever wrestled a WWE match (Hogan, Slaughter, and Piper). Everyone else either competed or managed for the WWF or WWWF, both organizations no longer exist.

Maybe then there should be a professional wrestling hall of fame in place of the WWE Hall of Fame.
My second objective is a dual objection, both the selections and the selection comittee. I will make no atempt to be "in the know" and pretend to know who in the crimson hell James Dudley is or was. I am sure I am not the only professional wrestling fan wondering exactly how this man got into the Hall. I am sure he is a wonderful man who did great things, i just don't know what they were. I also wonder about the selection of Johnny Rodz who was one of the WWF's most reliable jobbers for years. How does a jobber get into the Hall" That's equivallent of Luiz Salazar being inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. It shouldn't happen. Speaking of the MLB Hall of Fame, how did someone who belongs there land in the WWE Hall of Fame" Ask Pete Rose. He is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame somehow. What congress of idiots decided this" Just one idiot, Vincent K. McMahon. This is what makes the WWE Hall of Fame such a mockery.
Finally there are about 145 people who you could make an arguement are deserving of induction. I will highlight only five for thesake of time. These men will either never be inducted or it will be so long before they are inducted it will not make wholesome sense. Those five men are Stan Hansen, Terry Funk, Dusty Rhodes, Tully Blanchard, and Larry Zybysco. We can all agree they all are far more deserving than Pete Rose but we discussed the selection comittee earlier.
If The Hall of Fame is to be taken seriously (which it isn't) by wrestling fans Vince should give the hall some credibility by removing jobbers and celebrities. Furthermore a fan ballot is not a half bad idea either. I know Vince loves urinating on loyal fans so I don't expect this but it would be nice. Any responses are welcome and I will not shoot down any ideas any readers would like to post under this column. All feedback is welcome and encouraged.
