	Frank Tunney took over the Toronto booking office in the late thirties and ran under Tunney Sports.. Frank Tunney continued to promote the Maple Leaf Wrestling promotion until his death in 1983.. Frank's nephew Jack took over the reigns and went on to align himself exclusively with the WWF in July 1984.. The #1 title in the territory was the Canadian Heavyweight Championship going all the way back to the 30s.. ~~~The title was abandoned with Jack Tunney joined the WWF and Maple Leaf Wrestling was shut down.. ~~~The title was resurrected in 1998 and continues to be recognized to this day in the Canadian independent scene..
