The Katz Files – Arnie Katz

Nobody Asked Me about RAW, But…

The Kingfish Arnie Katz continues a “Katz Files” tradition with answers to some ticklish questions that no one asked him and some observations about things that stuck in his mind after viewing the 1/26 episode of RAW.

I was watching RAW this week and…

… Am I the only one who sees a parallel between Rosa Mendez and the classic movie All About Eve? Watch for her to undermine the relationship between Santino Morella and Beth Phoenix. Could this be a way to generate fan support for the Wronged Woman (Beth) to ignite a Babyface Turn? By the way, Rosa handled her character much better on this RAW than she did on the pay per view.

Kevin Steen & El Generico came into Ring of Honor with two simple goals: to prove they are the best tag team in the world and to become ROH World Tag Team Champions. Within a matter of months they lent credence to the first with phenomenal showings against the Briscoes and the Age of the Fall, among others. As for the second, Steen & Generico didn’t make good on that goal until September 19, 2008 at the “Driven” Pay Per View taping. That night, in Boston, the two Canadians…well the Canadian and Mexican…defeated Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black to become the 26th ROH World Tag Team Champions in a classic contest.

Remembering a Friend! by Fidel Sierra the Cuban Assassin and Fantasy

One of the main reasons we wanted to write this column after our extended silence, is to ask everyone to take a moment out of your busy day on February 10, and remember Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig. It will be 6 years since he passed away. He was a good friend, a tremendous performer and a generous person all around who loved his family dearly. We think of him often and miss him to this day. So for those who knew him and even if you didn’t, grab a shot of Jack Daniels and gargle one for Curt. He was one of the greats and a truly special friend.
