Who Will Steal the Show?
The Katz Files – Arnie Katz
Who Will Steal the WM 25 Show?
The Kingfish Arnie Katz warms up his crystal ball will a look at which WrestleMania 25 match will “steal the show.”
One of Shawn Michaels’ many nicknames is “The Showstoppa.” You could apply it to Vladimir Kozlov, too, but in HBK case, it’s a positive thing. <pre than once, Michaels has risen up from the upper mid-card to help deliver an outstanding match that becomes the show’s most memorable contest.
Michaels has the chance, working with Undertaker, to do the same at this year’s WrestleMania. Will he steal the show or just give us a good, enjoyable match? That’s the subject of today’s column: my predictions about which match, or matches, will steal the show.
Wrestler of the Week: Kurt Angle
HeadLocker — Jay Shannon
OWW Wrestler of the Week: Kurt Angle
Our resident philosopher, Jay Shannon, profiles the former Olympic champion who dominated the Gauntlet Match on Impact to become one of the two team captains at Lockdown. While he did not win the Gauntlet, he eliminated close to half the competitors.
Kurt Angle has done it all in wrestling. He was an outstanding amateur wrestler, earning a Gold Medal in the 1996 Olympics. He moved into the pro ranks and dominated both major groups (WWE and TNA). Despite some major issues in his personal life, Kurt has maintained a solid grip on his status as a wrestling mega-star. On the most recent edition of Impact, Kurt tore through the competition like a cyclone. He eliminated 10 men, before falling victim to the newly-psychotic Samoa Joe. Angle’s amazing performance in the Gauntlet, along with numerous years of dedication to the sport, earns him this week’s OWW Wrestler of the Week award.

The WWE Belts
The Katz Files – Arnie Katz
Revamping the WWE Championship Structure
The Kingfish Arnie Katz examines the forthcoming big changes for WWE championship belts – and offers some suggestions of his own.
It’s pretty obvious that WWE is ready to implement a new strategy for its championship belts. Unification matches and rumors of retiring certain titles abound.
It’s certainly a good time to make the move. Business will be down this spring and summer, so they can fine-tune things before the big-money fall and winter pay per views.
It’s also easier to make the changes now than at any time of the year. WWE has WrestleMania and Backlash for big title contests and the so-called Draft Lottery to reassign the talent among its four shows. (If WWE forgets Superstars, the WGN series will fail.)
