A video kicks off the event showcasing Roman Reigns’ return at SummerSlam, union with Paul Heyman, and the in-ring return set for tonight.

We go live into the WWE ThunderDome to see a big pyrotechnics display. The virtual fans are psyched up.

WWE United States Championship
Bobby Lashley w/ The Hurt Business vs. Apollo Crews (c)

The bell rings, and they lock up. Lashley powers him to the corner and takes him down with a waistlock. Crews fights up, but Lashley slams him down again. Crews hooks a side headlock, but Lashley whips him off and shoulder blocks him down. Lashley talks some trash, but Crews dropkicks him back. Lashley knees him in the midsection and shoves him to the corner. Lashley sends him to the corner, but Crews slingshots over him and knocks him back. Crews gets him out of the ring, avoids a shot, and hits an apron moonsault. MVP and Shelton Benjamin get in Crews’ face.

Crews attacks Lashley, but Lashley gets him in the ring and shoves him to the corner. Lashley hits a one-armed slam onto the top rope. Crews falls to the floor. Lashley picks Crews up and drives him head-first into the ring post. Lashley gets him in the ring for a two count. Lashley applies a waistlock. Crews fights up, but Lashley hits him with a fallaway slam. Lashley shoulders him in the corner and goes to scoop him up, but Crews hits an enzuigiri. Lashley quickly knees him and hits a Destroyer for a near fall. Lashley charges, but Crews sidesteps him. Crews kicks him back and hits a diving cross-body block.

Both men are down. Crews starts hitting some clotheslines, but Lashley cuts him off. Crews quickly takes him down and goes for a military press, but Lashley gets out. Crews hits a pair of German Suplexes and goes to the top rope. Crews hits a frog splash for a near fall. Crews shoulders him, but Lashley elbows him back and hits a one-armed spinebuster. Lashley applies the Full Lashley to get the submission.

Winner by Submission and new WWE United States Champion: Bobby Lashley

MVP pulls a cameraman over and has him start snapping shots of the new champion. Crews attacks Lashley from behind and angrily walks off.

Replays are shown of Roman Reigns joining forces with Paul Heyman on SmackDown.

Kayla Braxton catches up with Paul Heyman backstage. She asks about Roman Reigns not signing the contract. Heyman says Reigns said he would sign it. She asks if she can talk to Reigns, and Heyman says she cannot.

Keith Lee is warming up backstage when JBL walks up to him. JBL says there’s a lot of pressure, so he should invest in some hedge funds. It’s a big match. If he loses, that’s ok.

Replays are shown of The Miz’ confrontation with Big E on Talking Smack.

Sheamus vs. Big E

They get into a stiff lock up, and Big E goes for a waistlock. Big E then flips Sheamus over and talks a little trash. Sheamus hooks a headlock and hits a headlock takeover. Big E fights up and whips him off, leapfrogs him, and takes him down. Sheamus attacks him and hits the 10 Beats of Bodhrán on Big E. Big E takes him down and goes for a big splash on the apron, but Sheamus moves. Sheamus stomps away at him in the ring and hits a knee breaker. Sheamus starts working on the knee, but Big E fights up. Sheamus hits the Irish Curse Backbreaker for a two count. Big E fights back with some belly-to-belly suplexes and slams him down for a near fall. Big E slaps some feeling into his leg. Sheamus gets to the apron and knees Big E in the face. Sheamus hits a slingshot battering ram. Sheamus catches him with an Alabama Slam for a near fall.

Big E and Sheamus punch away at each other and locks on an Irish Cloverleaf. Big E gets to the apron. Big E fights back and knocks Sheamus to the floor. Sheamus gets on the apron, but Big E hits a spear off the apron! Big E goes for a Big Ending, but Sheamus slides off and applies a knee bar. Big E rips at his face, but Sheamus viciously knees him in the face for a near fall. Sheamus sets up for a Brogue Kick, but Big E counters with a powerbomb. Big E connects with a Big Ending for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Big E

Big E gets out of the ring and gets in Corey Graves’ face. Big E asks if he can feel him now. Big E is fired up.

Alyse Ashton is backstage with Matt Riddle. She asks about his first PPV match. Riddle says King Corbin is afraid the King of Bros is going to take his crown. He’s going to run all over King Corbin. She asks about Corbin saying Riddle is a failure. Riddle doesn’t say a word and walks off.

Shayna Baszler is warming up backstage when Nia Jax walks up to her. Jax says they don’t like each other. They shove each other and then calm down. Baszler says they should kill the pre-match chit-chat.

King Corbin vs. Matt Riddle

King Corbin clotheslines him down while Riddle is making his entrance. The bell rings, and Corbin takes him down before stomping away at him. Corbin knocks him out of the ring and continues to attack him. Corbin gets him in the ring and applies a chin lock. Riddle fights up, but Corbin kicks him. Riddle jumps on him and goes for a Kimura Lock. Corbin fights out, so Riddle comes back by jumping on his back and applying a sleeper hold. Corbin gets out by falling back onto him. Riddle takes a moment to recover and applies a rear naked choke. Corbin fights up and tosses him off. Riddle whips him to the corner, but Corbin drops down and hits an out and in clothesline for a near fall. Corbin punches him down and chokes him on the ropes. Corbin punches him down and gets in the referee’s face. Riddle fights back, but Corbin knees him and applies a chin lock. Riddle fights back, but Corbin drops him with a sidewalk slam for a two count. Riddle again tries to fight back, but Corbin hits a back elbow for a tow count. Corbin takes him down and goes for a single leg crab. Riddle kicks him off. Corbin charges and goes for another out and in clothesline, but Riddle kicks him in the head. Corbin rolls out of the ring to recover.

Riddle goes outside, but Corbin drives him into the apron. Corbin knocks him back. Riddle hits a snap kick to the face and hits a pair of running forearms. Riddle hits a Broton and a PK for a near fall. Riddle kicks away at him, but Corbin cuts him off. They trade forearms with Riddle punching away at him. Riddle kicks him back, but Corbin forearms him in the face. Both of them are down.

Corbin puts him in the corner and onto the top rope. Riddle kicks him back and leaps, but Corbin connects with a Deep Six for a near fall. Corbin punches away at him, but Riddle applies a triangle choke. Corbin quickly powers him up, but Riddle knees him in the liver and hits the Bro To Sleep. Riddle goes to the top rope for the Flying Bro for the win!

Matt Riddle is interviewed backstage by Alyse Ashton, but King Corbin attacks him from behind. Officials pull Corbin off him. Corbin is fired up.

Sasha Banks and Bayley (c’s) vs. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler

Sasha Banks and Shayna Baszler start the match. Banks gets the better of her, but Baszler kicks away at her. Banks quickly jumps on her back, but Baszler throws her off. Banks is sent out of the ring, and Nia Jax is knocked off the apron. Banks gets Baszler in the ring and goes for the Three Amigos, but Baszler gets out. Bayley comes in and they mistime a double-team slam. Jax gets involved, so Banks jumps on her at ringside. Jax slings Banks into the barricade, gets in the ring, and avalanches Bayley. Bayley slaps Jax and hits Baszler. Banks tags in and hits a meteora. Banks hits a running dropkick in the corner. Banks dropkicks Jax and tags Bayley in. Bayley attacks Jax’ knee and picks up a two count. Banks blind tags in, but Jax takes Bayley down and hits Banks with a Samoan Drop. Jax goes for a leg drop, but Bayley grabs the leg. Jax just walks with Bayley gripping her leg.

Baszler tags in and starts the hot tag. Baszler hits some sliding kicks on Bayley and Banks before hitting a nasty gutwrench on Banks. Baszler takes Bayley down for a two count. Banks runs in, but Baszler hits a gutwrench suplex. Baszler and Jax put them in the corner and avalanches them. Jax goes for a slam, but Banks counters into a facebuster. Bayley tags in, and Banks tags herself in. Bayley hits a diving elbow drop and Banks follows up with a frog splash on Jax for a near fall. Bayley kept Baszler back. Banks attacks Jax and tags Bayley in. Banks and Bayley go to lift her, but Jax gets out. Baszler tags in. Banks and Baszler hit a scary double-team back body drop on Jax. Baszler goes for a deathlock on Bank and applies the Kirifuda Clutch on Bayley. Banks goes to rake the eye, but Baszler uses Banks’ arm to choke Bayley. Bayley taps out!

Charly Caruso gets in the ring to interview the new champions. Jax gets pumped up and says they won. Baszler says they’re not best friends, but they are champions. They celebrate while Banks and Bayley sadly look on.

Keith Lee vs. Randy Orton

The bell rings, and Orton circles around him. Orton hooks a side headlock and cinches it in. Lee whips him off. Orton goes for a shoulder block, but Lee doesn’t budge. Lee connects with a cross-body block, and Orton rolls out of the ring. Orton is furious. Orton gets in the ring and chops him. Lee doesn’t feel the chops and gets angry. Lee hits a Grizzly Magnum. Orton quickly comes back by sending him shoulder-first into the ring post. Orton goes outside and gives Lee a back suplex on the commentary table. Lee gets in the ring, and Orton takes him down and drops a knee. Orton cinches in a chin lock, and Lee is struggling. Lee fights up, gets out, and sends Orton out of the ring with a Pounce. Lee goes outside and gives Orton a back suplex on the commentary table!

Lee puts Orton in the ring. Orton immediately catches him with a hanging DDT. Orton drops down and starts to stalk him for an RKO. Lee counters into a Spirit Bomb for the win!

Seth Rollins and Murphy vs. Rey and Dominik Mysterio

The bell rings, and Dominik Mysterio attacks Seth Rollins immediately. Murphy attacks Dominik, but Dominik hits Murphy with an apron 619. Rollins quickly grabs Murphy and tells him to calm down. Rollins tags in and applies a side headlock. Dominik whips him off, but Rollins cuts him off. Rollins sends Dominik to the ropes, but he lowers his head and eats a kick. Dominik hits a springboard arm drag. Rollins rolls out of the ring and angrily rips at the commentary table. Rollins gets in the ring and tags in Murphy. Murphy blocks an arm drag, but Dominik comes back with a twisting arm drag. Dominik hits a dropkick and tags his father in. Dominik hits Murphy with a Russian Leg Sweep, and Rey follows up with a dropkick for a two count.

Rey challenges Rollins to get in. Rollins tags in, and they brawl. Rollins quickly knees Rey and punches away at him. Rey slingshots over him and knocks him back. Rollins quickly hits a gutbuster. Rollins lifts Rey, but Rey rolls him up. Rey lets go and knocks Murphy off the apron. Rollins slides Rey out of the ring, and Murphy gets the knees up. Murphy gets Rey in the ring and picks up a two count. Murphy shoulders away at him and tlaks some trash. Rollins tags in, but Rey takes him down. Rey then hits Murphy with a wheelbarrow bulldog.

Dominik tags in and comes off the top rope with a double cross-body on Rollins and Murphy. They catch him, and Rollins hits a falcon arrow for a near fall. Rollins yells at the referee. Rollins angrily stomps away at Dominik. Murphy tags in and hits a suplex on Dominik for a two count. Murphy applies an abdominal stretch. Rollins tags in and punches away at Dominik before throwing him out of the ring. Rollins distracts the referee, so Murphy attacks him. Dominik sends Murphy into the barricade and sidesteps Rollins diving onto him.

Rey tags in and punches away at Rollins. Rey ducks a clothesline and hits a head-scissor takeover. Rey shoulders Rollins and bounces him off the corner. Rey goes to the top rope and hits a moonsault block for a near fall. Rey knocks him into the ropes, but Rollins gets away. Rey counters a powerbomb and kicks him in the face, but Murphy breaks up the pin. Dominik attacks Murphy, but Rollins hits him with a Sling Blade. Rey hits a seated senton on Rollins, but Rollins soon catches him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker.

Rey and Rollins brawl in the ring, while Dominik and Murphy brawl. Rey hits a suicide dive on Murphy and knocks Rollins back. Rey comes off for a cross-body block, but Rollins hits a mid-air gutbuster! Rollins superkicks him, but Rey kicks out. Rollins sizes Rey up for a Stomp, but Rey avoids it. Rey goes for a wheelbarrow bulldog, but Rollins counters into a facebuster. Dominik breaks up the pin. Murphy runs in and grabs Dominik. Rollins attacks Dominik and sends him hard into the barricade. Rollins then sends Rey into the barricade.

Rollins sizes Rey up, but Rey takes him down. Dominik tags in as Rey puts Murphy into the ropes. Rey hits a lawn dart into a sunset flip bomb into the barricade on Rollins. Dominik hits Murphy with a 619, goes to the top rope, and hits a Frog Splash for the win!

Winners by Pinfall: Rey and Dominik Mysterio

Rollins looks disgusted with Murphy and walks off on him. Rey and Dominik Mysterio celebrate in the ring.

The Hurt Business is shown happily leaving.

WWE Universal Championship – No Holds Barred
“The Fiend” Bray Wyatt (c) vs. Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman attacks The Fiend during his entrance. Strowman attacks The Fiend and hits a Running Powerslam for a near fall. The Fiend rises up and attacks Strowman, hitting him with Sister Abigail for a near fall.

Strowman rolls out of the ring and The Fiend grabs him, hitting a one-armed slam through the commentary table. The Fiend goes under the ring and pulls out a cartoon-style mallet. Strowman quickly throws a commentary table chair at The Fiend. Strowman then slams The Fiend down on the steel steps. Strowman grabs The Fiend and attacks. The Fiend quickly sends him into the barricade and hits him square in the chest with the mallet! The Fiend bounces Strowman off the steel steps and snaps his neck. The Fiend grabs the top-half of the steel steps and runs it into Strowman. The Fiend poses.

The Fiend starts punching Strowman up the ramp and snaps his neck again. The Fiend pulls him up, but Strowman sends him into the LED wall. Strowman grabs The Fiend, but he fights up. The Fiend goes for Sister Abigail on the floor, but Strowman fights out. Strowman then spears The Fiend off the stage through some tables.

Strowman gets up and pulls him down to the ring. Strowman gets him in the ring, but The Fiend cuts him off. The Fiend hits a superplex on Strowman, and the ring collapses!

Roman Reigns’ music hits, and he comes out with Paul Heyman. Reigns signs the contract and comes down to the ring with a steel chair. Reigns gets in the ring and covers The Fiend. A referee runs down (Charles Robinson was knocked out during the collapse), and Reigns picks up a near fall. Reigns covers Strowman, but he kicks out. Reigns beats Strowman with the chair for a near fall. Reigns goes after The Fiend, but The Fiend puts him in the Mandible Claw. Reigns low blows him, and The Fiend falls out of the ring. Reigns gets in the ring and Spears down Strowman for the win!
