WWE SmackDown kicks off with highlights of the Undisputed WWE Championship match from Saturday Night’s Main Event between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre.
Live in the arena, Cody’s music hits and out he comes to the ring. Cody gets in the ring and he asks the fans what they want to talk about. Cody says they can talk about Saturday Night’s Main Event and Drew McIntyre. He says Drew introduced the title into the match, a weapon into the match. The fans chant “Cody, Cody Rhodes” and Cody says this is going to be a fun show, the fans are here to have a good time.
Cody says that Drew does not understand his reluctance to pull the trigger in the past has cost him dearly. But with Drew, there was no reluctance, no hesitation. He says Drew is the most impressive but in his own way, the most self sabotaging wrestler in the history of this business. Cody says he is moving on, Drew is in the rearview mirror and the business of the WWE Championship, the most important title in all of pro wrestling, he wants to do something different.
He says he would like to come out, sit with the fans, watch SmackDown and they can decide who is next in line for the title. Cody leaves the ring as the lights turn black.
Aleister Black’s music hits and out he comes with Zelina. Black says if Cody is moving out, he is moving in. Since setting Damian Priest on fire, he has been ready for something new. Black and Zelina get in the ring and Black says he has a chip on his shoulders. And it is about the size of the WWE Undisputed World title. Cody takes off his tie and unbuttons the collar on his shirt. Zelina gets in Cody’s face.
Zelina says it is too bad that Cody’s nightmare begins now. She slaps Cody in the face. Out comes Nick Aldis and he says tensions are running high. Aldis asks the fans if they are thinking what he is thinking. He tells Black if it’s a fight he is looking for, he can fight Cody in the main event tonight.
Black’s music hits and they leave the ring.
We see Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss outside of the arena. The camera cuts to Jade Cargill walking outside the arena.
Ilja Dragunov is walking backstage and he is stopped by Tama Tonga. Ilja looks at him and walks away towards the ring as his music hits.
-Commercial Break-
Ilja Dragunov is in the ring and he says for the legacy of the United States Open Challenge, Ilja Dragunov asks who will step up. He says tonight, pain shall entertain them. Out comes Tommaso Ciampa with Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae. Ciampa says he came out last week for his challenge but Dragunov denied him and called him a jackass. He says he is a two time SmackDown Tag Team Champion and no one calls him a jackass. And now he is in South Carolina, surrounded by jackasses to tell Dragunov that the title is his.
They get in the ring and the fans chant “jackass”. Dragunov says Ciampa is right and he accepts the challenge but he points to Gargano. Ciampa backs away and he looks at Gargano. Ciampa tells him to get him.
United States Championship Open Challenges – Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Johnny Gargano with Candice Lerae
The bell rings and we are under way. Ciampa distracts Dragunov and Gargano hits him from behind. Johnny throws Dragunov in the corner and goes for a kick but Dragunov catches his leg and lands a German suplex. Dragunov with another German suplex. Dragunov with elbows to the shoulder. He lifts Johnny up and slams him onto the mat.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Dragunov with a kick to the side of the head. Dragunov with a European uppercut followed by a kick to the face. Dragunov with the Constantin Special clothesline. Dragunov with a running kick to the face. Dragunov climbs the second rope and he lands a diving knee. He goes for the cover but Johnny kicks out. Dragunov climbs the top rope and jumps but Johnny with a kick. Johnny with a kick to the side of the head and he lands the poisonrana. He goes for the cover but Dragunov kicks out. Johnny with chops to the chest and he places Dragunov on the top rope. Johnny grabs Dragunov but Dragunov with a chop. He lands a headbutt and Johnny falls to the mat. Dragunov with a senton off the top rope. He goes for the cover but Johnny kicks out. Dragunov goes for the H Bomb but Johnny with a right hand but Dragunov with a kick. Dragunov slams Johnny down onto the mat. Dragunov goes for the Constantin Special but LeRae trips him up to the outside. Johnny with a suicide dive into a tornado DDT. He throws Dragunov back into the ring and Johnny with a DDT. He goes for the cover but Dragunov kicks out. Johnny gets on the ring apron and he jumps but Dragunov with a kick to the face. He slams Johnny face first into the turnbuckle. Dragunov with a suplex over the top rope. Dragunov hits him with the H Bomb. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Still United States Champion, Ilja Dragunov
We cut backstage and Nick Aldis is with a referee. In coms Sami Zayn and he tells Aldis that he spoke to him about this last week. He says he knows he is not cleared but he wants to be out there for Rey Fenix against the MFTs. Aldis tells him he is not medically cleared, if he is at ringside, he is a liability. He tells Zayn to get healthy. Zayn says he is telling him right now, he won’t stand by and watch for much longer.
He leaves and in comes R-Truth wearing John Cena merchandise. He asks Aldis if the draw is how they are doing to pick his older brother John Cena’s last opponent. He hands Aldis two plastic balls with his names in them and he tells Aldis that he is here to give him his balls. Aldis tells him that his name is already included. R-Truth tells him that he doesn’t want his balls to touch Nick’s balls. R-Truth grabs his balls and leaves.
Highlights of Saturday Night’s Main Event airs and we see Jade Cargill pinning Tiffany Stratton to become the new Women’s Champion.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Ciampa is backstage and in comes Gargano. As Gargano is about to speak, in come Fraxiom. They make fun of DIY, say the word jackass and leave.
At ringside, Jade Cargill’s music hits and out she comes with the WWE Women’s Championship around her waist. She lifts the title in the air and shows it to the fans and they cheer. Cargill says they saw what happened to Tiffany and that goes for every woman in that locker room. She says to make no mistake about it, she’s that bitch. Cargill throws the microphone onto the mat and leaves the ring.
As she is walking to the back, Charlotte Flair’s music hits. Cargill stops and out comes Flair with Alexa Bliss. Flair looks at Cargill and Cargill raises the title. Flair and Bliss walk with Cargill standing behind them. Flair turns around and begins walking towards Cargill but Bliss stops her. Cargill walks to the back as Flair gets in the ring.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Chelsea Green is backstage with Alba Fyre. As she begins to talk, in comes B-Fab and Michin to interrupt her. Michin says they know how her match against Giulia will go. Chelsea says she will win and be a double Champion and she will be the greatest SmackDown Champion. Jade Cargill is behind her and Chelsea turns around. Cargill tells her to keep talking and Chelsea tell her that she looks great. Chelsea and Fyre run away. B-Fab is about to enter the Women’s Locker Room and Cargill tells her to move out of the way. B-Fab tells Michin she doesn’t understand why she has to be that way. Cargill tells her if she has a problem, she can step up and be stepped on next week. B-Fab accepts and Cargill walks into the Women’s locker room.
Out comes Nia Jax for her match.
Charlotte Flair with Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax
The bell rings and we are under way. Flair to the ropes and she lands a shoulder tackle but Nia Jax stays on her feet. Nia Jax pushes Flair and Flair slaps her in the face. Flair to the ropes and she lands right hands but Nia Jax lands a headbutt. Nia Jax goes for a splash in the corner but Flair moves out of the way. Flair with kicks to the face. She runs towards Nia Jax but Nia Jax picks her up but Flair with a head scissor take down followed by a drop kick. Flair grabs Nia Jax but Nia Jax throws her into the turnbuckle. Flair with chops to the chest. She grabs Nia Jax but Nia Jax throws her towards the corner and lands a clothesline.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Flair climbs the top rope and she lands a cross body. Flair with chops to the chest followed by a kick to the face. Flair with a chop block. Flair to the ropes and she lands a clothesline. Flair climbs the top rope and she lands a moonsault. She goes for the cover but Nia kicks out. Flair goes for the Figure Four but Nia with a headbutt. Flair goes for a kick but Nia picks her up and lands a sit down powerbomb. She goes for the cover but Flair kicks out. Nia drags Flair to the bottom corner and she climbs the second rope. Nia goes for the Anahilator but Flair moves out of the way. Flair goes for the cover but Nia kicks out. Nia gets Flair up on her shoulders and places her on the ring apron. Nia climbs the second rope but Flair with a kick. Flair with a knee to the face. She goes for the cover but Nia kicks out. Flair with a tornado DDT. She goes for the cover but Nia kicks out.
At ring side, Lash Legend hits Alexa Bliss from the barricade. She gets Bliss in a choke hold. That distracts Flair and Nia hits her from behind. Nia with the Anahilator. She goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Nia Jax

A video package of John Cena’s farewell tour airs and about his last match.
Nick Aldis draws the next two matches for the Last Time Is Now tournament.
The first match is The Miz against Jey Uso. The second match is LA Knight and Aldis opens up the ball with the name in it. Aldis says he will keep that name to himself.
Out comes the Women’s United States Champion Giulia with Kiana James for her match.

Back from commercial, Cathy Kelley is with Nia Jax and Lash Legend. Nia says she clearly would have beaten Charlotte. She says said Flair and Bliss told her she has to find a friend and she faced Lash in NXT and she is a bad ass. She says that is why they are friends.
Lash Legend introduces herself and after what she did to Alexa, she is everything she says she is and they are going straight to the top.
United States Championship Match – Giulia (c) with Kiana James vs. AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion Chelsea Green with Alba Fyre
Chelsea Green gets to ringside and gives her AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship to Ethan Page who is in attendance.
The bell rings and we are under way. Chelsea with a slap to the face but Giulia with a head lock take down. Both women back to their feet and Giulia with a headbutt followed by a suplex. Giulia with a running knee to the face. She goes for the cover but Chelsea kicks out. Fyre gets on the ring apron to try and distract Giulia but Giulia with a right hand to Chelsea. She throws Chelsea onto the ring apron and hits her with a right hand. Chelsea falls back into the ring. Giulia distracts the referee and Kiana James with a right hand onto Chelsea. Fyre with a super kick onto Kiana. Giulia with a kick onto Fyre. Chelsea rolls Giulia up and Chelsea puts her feet on the ropes for leverage and she gets the pin.
Winner: New Women’s United States Champion, Chelsea Green
Chelsea grabs her titles and jumps the barricade, celebrating with Alba Fyre and Ethan Page.
We cut backstage and Solo Sikoa is with MFTs. He tells them how they have to win titles and that Talla Tonga will show Rey Fenix that he does not disrespect their family. They walk down to the ring and we see The Wyatt Sicks sneak up behind them.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Alexa Bliss is with Charlotte Flair in the trainer’s room. The doctor gets Bliss ice and Flair puts it on Alexa’s shoulder. Flair and Alexa look up and it’s Asuka. She sprays them with the blue mist and begins to laugh. We see her with Kairi Sane and they walk away.
Rey Fenix vs. Talla Tonga with MFTs
As the MFTs are walking down to the ring, they are attacked from behind by Shinsuke Nakamura and The Motor City Machine Guns. Fenix with a suicide dive onto Talla Tonga. He goes for another but Tonga catches him. He grabs Fenix but Fenix pushes Tonga into the ring post. He runs towards Tonga but Tonga throws him into the ring. Tonga gets in the ring and the bell rings and we are under way.
Fenix with a kick to the leg followed by right hands. Fenix to the ropes but Tonga lifts him in the air and drops him onto the mat. Fenix gets on the ring apron and Tonga with a boot to the face and Fenix falls onto the barricade. Talla to the outside and he throws Fenix into the barricade.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Fenix goes for a springboard but Tonga with a shoulder tackle. Tonga with a right hand followed by a clothesline. Tonga goes for a splash in the corner but Rey moves out of the way. Rey with a kick to the face followed by a springboard kick to the face. Fenix goes for a monkey flip but Tonga catches him. Tonga with an uppercut and Fenix falls onto the ring apron. Tonga goes for a boot to the face but Fenix moves out of the way. Fenix with a kick to the face. Fenix walks the top rope and he lands the Goodbye Amigo kick. Fenix on the top rope and he lands a cross body. He goes for the cover but Tonga kicks out. Rey with a kick to the face and he climbs the top rope. Fenix jumps but Tonga catches him and goes for a chokeslam but Fenix tries to counter it with a hurricanrana. Tonga stops it and lands a powerbomb. Tonga with a chokeslam. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Talla Tonga
Solo Sikoa gets in the ring after the match and he tells Tonga to grab Fenix. Sami Zayn’s music hits and out he comes with a steel chair. Solo and Tonga leave the ring and the fans chant “Sami”. Solo and Tonga leave to the back.
We cut to the back and Cathy Kelley is with The Miz. He says that him hitting Carmelo Hayes was perspective, a reminder of what he is capable of. He says everything he touches, he makes prestigious. The Intercontinental title, talk shows, Carmelo Hayes and even John Cena, he beat him in the main event at WrestleMania. He says there should not be a tournament for Cena, especially when his final opponent is in his face. And now he has to face Jey Uso but everything Jey Uso does is a highlight and highlights fade. He says he will beat Jey Uso and win the tournament. The critics will cry and the internet will whine. He says The Miz will end John Cena’s career because The Miz is awesome.

Cody Rhodes vs. Aleister Black with Zelina
The bell rings and we are under way. Cody with a head lock take down but Black gets back up. Black with an arm drag followed by a knee. Black goes for a suplex but Cody reverses it into a vertical suplex. Cody goes for a right hand but Black with an arm bar. Cody reverses it into a pin but Black kicks out. Cody runs but Black with a kick to the face.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Black with a boot to the face. He goes for the cover but Cody kicks out. Black with a head lock followed by an elbow to the face. Black to the ropes but Cody with a right hand. Cody with a snap powerslam. Cody with the Disaster Kick. He goes for the cover but Black kicks out. Cody goes for the Cross Rhodes but Black with kicks. Black with a kick to the face. He goes for the cover but Cody kicks out. Black goes for a back suplex but Cody lands on his feet. Cody with the Cody Cutter. He goes for the cover but Black kicks out. Cody with punches and he goes for the bionic elbow but Black with a kick to the face. Black with a German suplex but Cody kicks out. Black goes for the Black Mass but Cody with a kick. Cody goes for the Cross Rhodes but Black gets out of it. Black with a kick to the face but Cody with a kick. Both men with kicks to the face and they fall to the mat.
Out comes Drew McIntyre who hits the referee with a Claymore.
Winner: No contest
Cody hits Drew with right hands. Black with a right hand onto Cody and he kicks Cody down in the corner. Drew begins kicking Cody and out comes Damian Priest. He runs down to the ring but he is hit with right hands. Priest with right hands and he throws Black in the corner. Priest slams Drew down onto the mat. He clotheslines Black to the outside. Drew grabs Priest but Cody hits Drew from behind. Priest to the outside. Zelina gets on the announce table and she jumps onto Priest but Priest throws her into the time keeper’s area. Black with a poke to the eye and he leaves with Zelina.
Cody with a Cody Cutter onto Drew in the ring. Drew leaves the ring and out comes Nick Aldis. He says he gave Drew an inch and he took a mile. Aldis suspends Drew McIntyre. He and Drew are face arguing as SmackDown goes off the air.
