OWW Wrestler of the Week: C.M. Punk
Our resident philosopher profiles the new World Champion, C.M. Punk. Punk took on Jeff Hardy in an incredibly brutal Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at Summerslam. At the end of the night, an exhausted and injured Punk sttod triumphant, at least until The Undertaker Chokeslammed him into oblivion.
Summerslam didn’t look all that great on paper. The matches seemed rather redundant and weak. C.M. Punk and Jeff Hardy proved the critics, myself included, wrong. They put on a heart-stopping classic that saw dozens of highlight reel moments. It was a back and forth war that Punk managed to win. While both men deserve the Wrestler of the Week nod, this week it goes to the winner (and New World Champion)…C.M. Punk.
