6/28 – CZW News and Notes: Scotty Vortekz takes home the Tournament of Death Trophy! CZW returns to South Philly on July 10th!

A near record setting crowd packed the Ultraviolent Underground this past Saturday in Delaware as SCOTTY VORTEKZ defied the odds to become the CZW Tournament of Death 9 Champion. The Naptown Dragon went the distance with impressive victory’s over Dysfunction, and then two huge triumph’s over Cult Fiction’s Masada and JC Bailey to claim the Tournament of Death Trophy. The raucous crowd also beared witness to the impressive American debut of Big Japan’s Abdullah Kobayashi, who carved out quite the following with his first round victory over CZW Legend Nick Gage. In addition, many scores were settled, and many more were only further intensified which is just fine because CZW returns to South Philly on July 10 with a milestone show as CZW presents “Home Sweet Home”.

– CZW’s return to South Philly will be a very special day, and will cap a long and emotional day which begins with the first half of a doubleheader to celebrate the life of Trent Acid. At 230pm, Trent’s friends will come together for a very special memorial show to remember their fallen friend. Those scheduled to appear include Homicide, B-Boy, Johnny Kashmere, Sonjay Dutt, Ruckus, Nick Gage and many many more. Stay tuned to CZWrestling.com in the coming days for more on “Acidfest”.

– The evening show, appropriately titled “Home Sweet Home” will mark a very special milestone for Combat Zone Wrestling. With the completion of the event, CZW will have capped it’s 106th show in the famed former “ECW Arena”, moving 1 show ahead of the aforementioned former tenant, and certifying the famed warehouse on the corner of Swanson and Ritner as the undisputed home of the Combat Zone. With this special occasion in mind, CZW Management is working on a card that is worthy of such a notable accompishment.

– The CZW World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line on July 10th. “Street Dog” JON MOXLEY will put his gold on the line in a “3 Way Dance” against both NICK GAGE and EGO FANTASTICO. Both Gage and Ego come in with a full head of momentum after both scoring huge victories at June’s Arena event. Who will leave the Arena with the gold around their waist, and bragging rights as the king of the Combat Zone? We find out on July 10th.

– Also headlining July’s “Home Sweet Home” event is the much anticipated “Career vs. Career” match between former best friends and ‘Notorious Inc’ partners DEVON MOORE and DREW BLOOD. The relationship between the two has broken down to such a level that the two have decided that the wrestling business just isn’t big enouugh for the both of them anymore. They agreed to put it all on the line… CAREER vs. CAREER to settle a score that has become to personal to contain. Who will leave the CZW Arena with their hand raised, and who will leave the Arena for the final time… We’ll find out on July 10th as CZW present’s “Home Sweet Home!”

– CZWrestling.com has also learned of a unique new opportunity that will be offered to 8 lucky competitors on July 10th. CZW Owner DJ Hyde has arranged for two separate Four-Way matchups, with competitors to be selected at random, who will meet in a pair of single elimination 4-ways. The winner of each individual 4-way will meet one-on-one later in the night with the winner receiving a Title Shot at any Champion, and at any time.
