Jake Hager departed AEW last year and, except for some angry political tweets aimed at Tony Khan, has stayed out of the spotlight. And now, while appearing on Saraya’s podcast, he has surprisingly revealed that at just 43, he considers himself retired from the ring. However, he added that he had replaced being a pro wrestler with running a trucking company, which is amusingly called “Haulin’ Oats.”
Hager joined WWE in 2006 after speaking with Jim Ross and, over the next two years, wrestled for their developmental territories, Deep South Wrestling, Ohio Valley Wrestling, and Florida Championship Wrestling. Subsequently, he would be introduced to the masses as Jack Swagger via WWE’s version of ECW, going on to win the brand’s championship. Still, his true breakthrough came in 2010 after winning the Money In The Bank ladder match at WrestleMania XXVI and cashing in on Chris Jericho a few days later after John Cena legitimately refused to put him over.
