JCW 3JCW wrestling school set to open in April 2014!

A new era in New Jersey independent wrestling will begin on April 1st, 2014.  On that date Jersey Championship Wrestling (JCW) will open the doors of a new training school in Union City/North Bergen, NJ.  Located across the street from St. Rocco’s Church on John F. Kennedy Blvd West, the Pope John Paul II Social Center will house the facility dedicated to developing new wrestling talent, as well as enhancing the abilities of existing professionals.

Head trainer Danny Inferno (Danny Gimondo, formerly known as Inferno Kid) brings over twenty years of professional wrestling experience to the new JCW school.  Inferno’s lengthy credentials span from earning medals at the NJ State Wrestling finals, to training with Bill DeMott, Gino Caruso, Lance Storm, and Al Snow, to signing with the WWF/WWE, competing in Ohio Valley Wrestling and Deep South Wrestling, and appearing on RAW, Smackdown, SummerSlam, Wrestlemania 15, as well as contributing stuntwork in the “Smackdown vs RAW 2007” video game.  He has wrestled across the entire western hemisphere, along with stops in Europe and Africa, and can be seen in the feature film The Wrestler (as “Inferno”), and National Geographic’s “Slammed: Inside Indie Wrestling”.

Trainer Danny DeManto adds 14 years of his own wrestling experience to the JCW training facility’s roster.  Among many others, DeManto has been in the ring with Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Vader, Kamala, Demolition, Mr. Anderson, Tommy Dreamer, Tito Santana, Balls Mahoney, Axl Rotten, New Jack, Rikishi, Samu, Manu, Al Snow, X Pac, Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, Shane Helms, The Nasty Boys, Matt Hardy, Fit Finlay, Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka, Low Ki, Homicide, The Amazing Red, The Young Bucks, Sal Sincere, Sabu, Kevin Sullivan, Viscera, Chris Candido, Bushwhacker Luke, Eugene, Danny Doring, Julio Dinero, Reckless Youth, Larry Zbyszko, and Tatanka.

Inferno and DeManto will also be assisted by several other members of the Jersey Championship Wrestling roster.

The school will be open five nights a week – Sun, Mon, Wed, Thurs, Sat (except during JCW events).  In addition to in-ring wrestling training, students can expect to learn valuable skills such as developing an identifiable persona, interacting with fans, and working on a microphone.

Students will also receive discounts for JCW seminars, featuring names such as Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Matt Striker.  Seminars will cover all topics, from wrestling skill, to workout regimens, to maximizing potential through health and diet.

The St. Rocco’s campus can easily be reached via car (Rte 3, NJ Turnpike), as well as NJ Transit bus (Union City bus stop is one half mile from the JCW school), and the NYC/Kennedy Boulevard jitney buses (from Port Authority or Journal Square, stops at St. Rocco’s).

For new students, an initial deposit of $400 covers the first three months of training.  After that, students can continue to pay the discounted $400 for the next three months, or $150 per month if paying on a month-by-month basis.  Students will be considered to be trained wrestlers after 18 months.  All trained wrestlers, whether trained by the Jersey Championship Wrestling school or elsewhere, can work out in the JCW ring for $10 per day, or $100 per month for unlimited visits.
