  3. M.V.D. – Week Of 12/2/12

“M.V.D. – Most Valuable Diva” is a weekly column where a WWE Diva or TNA Knockout is named the Most Valuable Diva of the Week based on their overall performance. The divas/knockouts that compete in matches and/or take part in segments automatically get nominated for Most Valuable Diva.

This week’s nominees for M.V.D. are:

AJ: It’s not often that we get to see AJ in action as she’s usually part of nothing but segments. However, this week on RAW, she faced the woman that attacked her at Survivor Series, Tamina. AJ was the underdog in the match due to her being smaller than Tamina, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t going to put up a fight against her tougher opponent. With the crowd on her side, AJ picked up the win via roll up. Despite the match being short, AJ and Tamina put on a decent match. I hope that we’ll be seeing more from these two in the upcoming weeks of RAW.

Tamina: For the first time since attacking AJ at Survivor Series, Tamina faced the resident Geek Goddess in action on RAW. Tamina controlled most of the match and looked dominant over the smaller and weaker AJ. Unfortunately, Tamina’s strength wasn’t enough to help her pick up the win, and AJ won the match. Tamina may have lost, but we can best believe that things between her and AJ aren’t over

Natalya: It looks as though Natalya may have a bit of a crush on The Great Khali. The 3rd generation diva accompanied The Great Khali to the ring for his tag team match on Smackdown and during Superstars, where the Punjabi Playboy served as Special Referee for Brodus Clay vs. David Otunga. Natalya also got into not one, but two catfights with Rosa Mendes for disrespecting The Great Khali’s friend Hornswoggle. Could this lead to a future Natalya vs Rosa Mendes match? Hmmm…

Rosa Mendes: On Superstars, Rosa came to ringside and smacked Hornswoggle with flowers for disrespecting her as of late. Unfortunately, that didn’t set well with Natalya, and Rosa was attacked by the 3rd generation diva. Rosa also accompanied Epico and Primo on Smackdown for their tag match against The Great Khali and Hornswoggle. When a feisty Rosa was badmouthing the Punjabi Playboy, Hornswoggle tripped her. An angered Rosa once again disrespected Natalya, and Natalya attacked her once again. Lesson learned: don’t mess with Hornswoggle, or else Natalya will take you down!

Mickie James: The #1 contender for the Knockouts Champion came out to talk about her return to TNA. She goes on to thank her friends, family, and fans for their support during her time off with an injury and surgery. Mickie says that she will walk away this Sunday at Final Resolution the new KO champion. Unfortunately, Mickie’s interrupted by the current KO champion Tara and a returning Velvet Sky.

Tara: Tara comes out and interrupts Mickie’s conversation with the fans. Tara goes on to talk about the great year she’s had: she got rid of her bestfriend Brooke Tessmacher, she has a great boyfriend in Jesse, and she became the KO champion. Tara and Mickie exchange words, but both are interrupted by a returning Velvet Sky.

Velvet Sky: The pigeons have been let loose! Velvet Sky made her return to Impact Wrestling during a segment between KO champion Tara and the #1 contender Mickie James. She thanks the fans for welcoming her back and Brooke Hogan for getting her hired back. Velvet goes on to wish both Tara and Mickie good luck this Sunday at Final Resolution, but she also informs them that 2013 will be her year because she will win the Knockouts Championship.

This week, we have two women that have won Most Valuable Diva of the week. This week’s M.V.D.s are…

AJ and Tamina!

Both divas put on a decent match this week. AJ played the underdog role well. She put up a great fight against Tamina and picked up the win as well. Although Tamina lost her match against AJ, she looked dominant during the match.

Note: I would’ve picked Velvet Sky as this week’s M.V.D., but I didn’t feel TNA booked her return well.

Come back next week to see who will be M.V.D. of the week. Thanks for reading!
