It is Wednesday, my dudes…and it’s just as good a night for fightin’ as any!

AEW Dynamite

We get a rundown of what’s coming up tonight, along with a look back at the injury Kota Ibushi sustained at Collision and the involvement of Kenny Omega. Backstage, we see Kenny talking to Jack Perry to set up the trios match tonight. Commentary runs down the rest of what’s to come tonight, along with the lineup for WrestleDream.

With that, we head backstage for…

Famous Last Words Before WrestleDream: AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander and “Timeless” Toni Storm

Storm talks about how she IS the title, wondering who she is without it…but just as important, who is Kris Statlander? Statlander retorts saying that Toni’s never known who Kris is because she is constantly evolving. Godspeed, Toni Storm, I will give you the rest you deserve. Storm responds saying wrestling is full of lies, but at WrestleDream we will find out the truth. Statlander says she knows the truth, she just needs to accept it.

She asks Reneé if this interview is over, and the pair take their microphones off to storm (ha!) off to ringside…and those Famous Last Words quickly turn to action as the two go at it! The fight turns to Statlander blocking a Storm Zero, only to take a German suplex. The pair take turns debating on hitting each other with the title, but the respect is evident enough that neither wants to go that route before their big match at WrestleDream. Toni’s music hits as she leaves the ring, before we head backstage.

Jack Perry explores his crafty side, whittling away at a wood block as he addresses the Young Buck. He says he loves them, but when he needed the Bucks most they left him behind and refused to have his back…so he had to go deep into his past to find someone who would. Luchasaurus appears, growling as we head back to ringside.

GOA make their way out first for our opening match, accompanied by Ricochet to the ring. Out next are the Hurt Syndicate alongside MVP, with commentary looking back at the Street Fight last week and reminding us this is a straight up tag team match as we get underway!

The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) vs GOA (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona)

We start off with Benjamin and Kaun going at it, with Shelton sending Bishop to the corner. Kaun turns it around but Benjamin stands up to him. Exchange of holds leads to Kaun hitting the ropes, where Shelton catches him with a kick and a suplex. Tag to Bobby Lashley for a double-team. Stalling suplex from Lashley takes Bishop to the mat hard.

Kaun starts to turn things around as Liona gets a blind tag, but Lashley sends him off the apron before going after Bishop. Ricochet distracts the ref while Kaun hits a low blow, and Liona follows up by dropping Lashley to the floor as we go to an ad break!

-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-

Liona is in control of things as we come back from break, bringing Lashley up to his feet in the ring. Lashley sends him into the corner, taking a boot from Toa before hoisting him up and over! Both men head to their corners as we get Bishop and Shelton tagging in.

Benjamin sends Bishop to the corner as Ricochet tries to intervene, only to take a kick from Shelton. Kaun takes him down but only gets a two count, and Shelton fights back to counter a suplex into a DDT. Liona is back in the ring, landing a headbutt before Lashley comes in for an assist. The fight leaves the ring as Lashley takes out Toa, and back in the ring we see Ricochet land a Spirit Gun on Benjamin before sliding out, only to be laid out by MVP as we see Bishop get the pin on Shelton for the win!

Winners via pinfall: GOA

This marks the first pinfall loss for the Hurt Syndicate in tag team action since they debuted in AEW, and GOA celebrate with Ricochet on the ramp.

We take a look at the confrontation between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley at New York Comic-Con ahead of their I Quit Match at WrestleDream…and we head to an undisclosed location for…

Special Face-To-Face: Darby Allin and Jon Moxley

A visitation window (of sorts) separates the two men as Moxley addresses the situation they’re in. He knows Allin isn’t one to quit, so he wonders what they’re supposed to do. Darby admits that he thought about joining the Death Riders, but remembers what he did to Bryan Danielson and can’t see him going to war with someone who would do that. Mox says sacrifices have to be made.

Darby notes that at the summit of Mount Everest he saw the freedom that AEW represents, and how Moxley is trying to chip away at all of it. He says that when he makes Moxley quit at WrestleDream, the rest of his crew will see Mox for who he really is and the whole thing will come crumbling around him. Mox responds by saying Darby’s opponent at WrestleDream is not Mox, but the ghosts that Darby has been dealing with all his life.

He says that at WrestleDream, Darby will understand none of this is about Mox…and as he finishes his statement, PAC blindsides Darby, smashing him into the desk and window! Darby is bloodied and left alone as PAC and Mox leave the room, and we cut outside the arena to see the rest of the Death Riders ahead of their matches tonight. Claudio Castagnoli is in action, up next as he faces Roderick Strong!

-Commercial Break-

We head backstage to see Claudio making his way through the crowd, before heading to ringside for our next match. Roderick Strong makes his entrance, and with that we get this match underway!

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Roderick Strong

The two go at it early on, with Claudio taking the upper hand as he sends Strong to the mat. Roderick starts to fight back until Castagnoli takes control with a side headlock. He breaks free to hit the ropes, dodging an attack by Roderick to land a backbreaker on the man usually dishing them out. Strong fights to his feet, only to be dropped with a scoop slam by Castagnoli…who follows up with a chinlock.

Roderick back on his feet as he hits the ropes, running right into a big boot by Claudio. Roderick leaves the ring for a breather, but gets brought up by the hair to the apron by Castagnoli. They go at it until Roderick drops Claudio onto the hardest part of the ring! With his opponent on the outside, Strong goes back in the ring for a baseball slide…only to be caught by Claudio for a swing that sends Roderick into the guardrail as we go to ad break!

-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-

Back from break, Strong lands a dropkick on Claudio in the ring…only to be laid out for a nearfall by Castagnoli. He transitions to a crossface, but Strong manages to reach the ropes with his leg to break the hold. Roderick in the corner, taking some shots from Claudio who lands a back suplex for a two count.

Claudio grabs the legs of Strong, who avoids him to hit the ropes for a clothesline and back heel kick. He also dodges a kick by Castagnoli, sending him to the outside for a kick through the ropes that sends Claudio into the barricade…and then brings him up for a backbreaker!

Strong brings Claudio back in the ring, buts get caught in the corner by Castagnoli. They go at it on the turnbuckle, where Roderick lands a kick on Claudio before hitting some clubbing elbows…followed by a backbreaker onto the top turnbuckle! Both men making their way up, and Claudio blocks a knee strike by Roderick to land a pop-up uppercut for the win!

Winner via pinfall: Claudio Castagnoli

Claudio leaves the ring as we cut away from ringside.

We get a look back at Don Callis celebrating his birthday on Monday, alongside his Family. This includes a video message from Konosuke Takeshita, who promises to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship for the Don Callis Family. Okada has heard enough, shutting off the video (and claiming he “pressed the wrong button”) before they move on with their dinner.

We then get a look at NJPW King of Pro Wrestling that night in Japan, and Takeshita’s victory over Zack Sabre Jr. to make good on his promise to the Family.

Back at ringside, Don Callis introduces his Family for our next match. Mark Davis, Josh Alexander, and Hechicero are in trios action up next against Kenny Omega and Jurassic Express, and the Family head to ringside as we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

We are back at ringside as the crowd pop for Jurassic Express, who make their way down to the ring. This is followed by the arrival of Kenny Omega to another big pop from the crowd, and we get this match underway!

Kenny Omega and Jurassic Express vs. Mark Davis, Hechicero and Josh Alexander

Kenny is in the ring, waiting to see who faces him to start this match off. Alexander teases getting involved, only to tag in Hechicero instead. Kenny and Hechicero trade holds, with Omega kicking out quick to keep the luchador off his game. Hechicero responds by taking out the leg of Omega, following up with an inverted dragon screw. Omega brought to his feet for an arm wringer, and Hechicero gets sent to the outside.

Alexander attacks Omega to keep him at bay, bringing him back in the ring as Davis gets the tag. This leads to a 3-on-1 attack until Alexander gets back in…and Kenny manages to get a tag to Perry! Jack gets some shots in on Alexander before quickly tagging in Luchasaurus for a double-team, and the big man (dino) gets some hard shots on Alexander as well before Perry tags in for a nearfall.

Tag made to Davis, and he lays out Perry with a shoulder tackle, sending him to the outside as we go to an ad break.

-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-

Back from break, chaos has ensued until Perry gets taken down for an ankle lock by Alexander. Davis and Hechicero clear the apron of Perry’s tag partners, leaving him to find a way out on his own with an enziguri on Alexander. Omega back on his feet, slowly getting on the apron as if debating whether to take the tag from Perry…but he does in fact take the tag, unloading on Alexander for a nearfall despite Hechicero’s efforts to intervene.

Alexander regains control with a set of German suplexes, but Omega fights back for a backslide…and then a driving knee strike! This gets a two count before Josh grabs the rope. Tags made to Luchasaurus and Mark Davis, and the hoss fight ends with both of them own. Perry runs into the ring to intercept Alexander running in, but takes a swinging hammerlock by Hechicero. Omega clears him out and Luchasaurus lands a big headbutt on Davis to send him to the ropes. Tag made to Omega, who looks for a V-Trigger before Callis hops on the apron to distract him…and this allows Alexander to land a chop block!

Davis looks for a lariat on Omega, but Perry takes the proverbial bullet. Omega blocks a powerbomb but takes a stuffed piledriver by Davis instead…while managing to narrowly kick out at two! Luchasaurus runs in for an assist as Hechicero tags in…but he gets taken out by Perry who tags in, and a Doomsday Device gets the win!

Winners via pinfall: Kenny Omega and Jurassic Express

The celebration is cut short by the arrival of the Young Bucks, who go after Jurassic Express before confronting Kenny Omega. This is cut off by Jurassic Express sending the Bucks out of the ring, before an escalera leads to a dive by Perry onto the Don Callis Family!

Jurassic Express celebrate up on the ramp as we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

We head back to ringside for our next match, as Skye Blue is accompanied by Julia Hart on her way down the ramp. Out next is Jamie Hayter, who makes a beeline for the ring as we get this match underway!

Skye Blue vs. Jamie Hayter

Hayter quickly takes Blue to the mat, but Skye fights to her feet for an arm wringer. She gets a hammerlock on Jamie, who gets caught on her shoulders for a nearfall on a side headlock. Hayter is kept from standing up as Skye pulls her down by her hair, before Jamie makes it back up. She takes Skye down hard, eventually getting a two count.

She brings Skye to each corner, slamming her head against the turnbuckle before mounting up on the fourth for some punches. Snap suplex sends Blue to the canvas for a nearfall. Another suplex forces Skye to roll out of the ring for a breather, as Julia checks on her while Hayter leaves the ring. Jamie offers a free shot to Hart, but Skye lands a thrust kick instead before landing a neckbreaker off the apron to keep Hayter down as we go to ad break.

-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-

Back from break, Skye regains control to set Hayter up on the turnbuckle. Jamie fights her off before landing a missile dropkick sending Blue to the canvas. She sends Skye to the corner, before sending her crashing back to the mat with a back suplex for a nearfall. Boot by Hayter yields the same result.

She brings Blue onto her shoulders, but Skye fights back for a stunner. She sends Hayter to the mat before they trade strikes…and Hayter with a backbreaker to regain control! Both women end up on the mat as the ref begins the count. Skye heads to the apron, using the ropes to get back on her feet as Hayter stands back up. She goes after Blue but is sent to the outside…where she catches Skye in mid-air to slam her onto the floor!

She brings Skye back into the ring, and a running lariat by Hayter gets the former Women’s World Champion a two count. Skye blocks a Hayterade for a Sliced Bread, but that only gets a two count before Hayter pops back up for a Hayterade to pick up the win.

Winner via pinfall: Jamie Hayter

Julia brings Skye out of the ring to regroup as Hayter celebrates her win. Thekla appears on the screen, admitting that she only attacked Jamie in May because she was there and nothing more. Her name is poison, and on Saturday it’s gonna get toxic to the core. Come on, Jamie…impress me! Hayter scoffs at this, her music playing once more as we cut away.

We head backstage to hear from “Ultimo Moné” celebrating herself holding ten titles at once. Before she focuses on WrestleDream she talks about becoming the longest-reigning TBS Championship on Friday at 509 days, a big deal for her as she gears up to defend the CMLL title against Persephone at Arena Mexico. With that, she walks off as we go to a commercial break with the World Trios Championship match coming up next!

-Commercial Break-

We head to ringside for what feels like the main event for the Dynamite portion of the evening as “Hangman” Adam Page heads to commentary to help call the action. Out first for this World Trios Championship match is LFI, with Dralistico, RUSH, and The Beast Mortos ready to challenge The Opps. The champs come out next, curiously using separate entrances for Hobbs/Shibata and Samoa Joe as they head to the ring. They stare down their challengers as we get this match underway!

AEW World Trios Championship Match: The Opps defends against LFI

Hobbs and Mortos start things off, a hoss fight between the Powerhouse and The Beast as they send each other into the corner. Hobbs takes the upper hand to set Mortos up in the turnbuckle, knocking Dralistico off the apron when he tries to intervene…and this allows The Beast to take him to the mat. Hobbs is back up and takes Mortos down with a shoulder tackle, and RUSH tags in. He calls for Shibata to get in, and Shibata takes the tag to land a flurry of strikes on RUSH…who responds with some chops.

Shibata pays him back in kind, stopping Toro Blanco with an STO before Samoa Joe tags himself in. Mortos tags in as well, and we get another big man battle as Mortos slaps Joe in the face only to take some jabs from the champ. He sends Mortos down before getting a tag to Shibata, who hits a snapmare on Mortos before the rest of LFI run in for an assist.

Things break down as LFI essentially triple-team The Wrestler, sending him to the corner for a triple dropkick. They stand tall as we go to an ad break.

-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-

Back from break, Dralistico comes in for a nearfall on Shibata before sending him to the corner. Dralistico runs to the corner, but gets cut off with a running boot by Shibata who follows up with a running dropkick for a two count. Tag made to Hobbs, and the Powerhouse cuts off LFI trying to intervene before stacking them up in the corner…but RUSH gets a boot on Hobbs! He and Mortos each charge at the Powerhouse, who takes them out with ease before catching Dralistico for a big slam.

Tag made to Samoa Joe, who clears the ring before dropping Dralistico for a nearfall. He gets another one before Dralistico kicks out, and he sends Dralistico to the corner before RUSH and Mortos run in. Chaos ensues as Shibata takes RUSH to the outside while Hobbs keeps Mortos away. Dralistico heads to the top, but gets caught in a Coquina Clutch by Samoa Joe…and he taps out AND goes out cold as the ref calls for the bell!

Winners via submission and still AEW World Trios Champions: The Opps

There is no time for celebration as LFI attacks The Opps after the match, before RUSH spits on Page to rile him up. Page enters the ring to get some revenge, clearing them from the ring as Samoa Joe picks up the AEW World Championship. There’s a brief staredown between Joe and Page, before Joe forcibly hands the title back to the champion.

Joe leaves the ring, mouthing off at the Hangman as the Dynamite portion of the night comes to a close.

AEW Collision

We kick off the Collision portion of the night with Hangman Page leaving the ring with his championship, and commentary hypes up WrestleDream before we gear up for our opening match of the hour.

Backstage we see Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia, accompanied by Marina Shafir as they head through the crowd toward the ringside area. Out next are Kyle O’Reilly and Orange Cassidy, the latter having an “upgraded” entrance with his name pixelated (at least they found the media this time!) as the pair head to the ring to get this match underway!

Orange Cassidy and Kyle O’Reilly vs. Death Riders (Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia)

Cassidy and Yuta start things off until Wheeler tags out to Garcia, who circles the mat to goad Cassidy into a fight. Orange thinks better of it in the corner, before escaping a hold from Garcia. Daniel gets him to the mat but Cassidy eventually kips up to his feet…only for Garcia to take him right back down. Cassidy gets back to his feet, teasing putting his hands in his pockets only to do Garcia’s old dance.

This seems to frustrate Daniel slightly, before O’Reilly gets in. He and Cassidy double-team Garcia, and bring Yuta in on the fun before both men take a powder on the outside to bring us to an ad break.

-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-

Back from break, we see the Riders back in control as Yuta comes in for a crossface on O’Reilly. Kyle fights back and manages to make a tag to Cassidy, who hits Sole Food on Garcia before sending Yuta down with an arm drag. He slams each man’s face into the turnbuckle before landing an elbow on Garcia (after Yuta dodges it)…but Wheeler gets his when Cassidy hits a DDT on him.

Garcia sees an opening, but it closes quickly when Cassidy catches him with Beach Break. He looks ready for an Orange Punch, but Yuta blocks it and counters to send Orange crashing to the mat as Mox can be seen lurking in the crowd. Stundog Millionaire on Yuta as O’Reilly comes in for a series of strikes on Garcia…who turns it around with a suplex.

Kyle captures a guillotine as Mox approaches ringside. Garcia breaks free as Cassidy goes after Yuta on the outside. Shafir distracts the ref as PAC blindsides Cassidy, while Kyle is forced to break the hold when he thinks he’s had it won…and Claudio gets the jump on Kyle on the apron before sending him back in the ring, allowing Yuta to get the win!

Winners via pinfall: Death Riders (Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia)

The Death Riders continue the beatdown after the match, as Moxley grabs a microphone to enter the ring…but Darby’s music cuts him off! Darby comes out walking slowly after the beating he took earlier today, and he gets even more of a beating when Claudio catches him with a running uppercut. PAC joins in, but Darby slowly makes his way toward the ring even as Yuta and Garcia run in for more damage.

Mox watches on as Darby takes a kick by Marina, seemingly stopping Allin in his tracks. Mox makes fun of this as we see Darby reaching to the apron, creeping into the ring as the Conglomeration come out to clear the other Death Riders from ringside. Back in the ring, we see Darby revealing the AEW flag he took with him to Mount Everest, taking the microphone from Mox to say it’s never too late to say “I Quit.”

Mox responds to this by dropping Darby onto the flag with a Paradigm Shift DDT, before he and the Death Riders leave through the crowd.

-Commercial Break-

Back at ringside, Megan Bayne makes her way out for our next match…before FTR and Big Stoke come out alongside her. The four make their way to the ring, and it seems we’re going to hear from Top Gods. Stoke hands the mic to Megan, who asks Willow how it feels knowing she came out here, giving everything she had…only to realize it wasn’t good enough? Now look at you, trying to dust yourself off, tag in a new friend, and take another swing at the Megasus.

You think that makes you a fighter, but really, that just makes you stupid. Megan guesses she didn’t beat it through Willow’s skull hard enough, so maybe watching her tear Harley apart tonight will finally make it click. It may be be fun playing hero, but Willow’s fate will be the same as everyone else who does it…and that is bowing down before Megan Bayne.

Stokely cannot articulate how much he hates Willow Nightingale, but he can say how much he hates Kevin Knight as he talks about FTR taking out JetSpeed this Saturday. Dax takes the microphone to talk about how great FTR is, while running down the crowd. People will not give FTR their credit but he hopes JetSpeed won’t do that, because they’re standing across the ring from God this Saturday.

He’s cut off by the appearance of JetSpeed Babes alongside Harley Cameron, the latter saying she knows what FTR stands for…Fear The ‘Rath! They opt to meet the four rivals in the ring, and sure enough…it’s a big ol’ brawl at ringside! This culminates in Willow taking Harwood to the mat with a spinebuster, followed by a UFO Splash by Knight before Stoke retrieves Dax to regroup on the ramp.

We find out that the scheduled match between Harley and Megan starts…right now!

Harley Cameron vs. Megan Bayne

Bell rings and Bayne sends Cameron to the corner with a big boot. She sends her across the ring for another running attack, but Harley dodges it to get some shots in…before Bayne takes her down hard. She follows up with a suplex, before catching Harley in the corner for some stomps. Running splash in the corner followed by a suplex, and Bayne is in control as she lands a couple body slams. Harley shows some tenacity as she gets back to her feet, sending Megan into the ropes on a bulldog before attacking the Megasus in the ropes.

She slams Bayne’s face into the turnbuckle, but Bayne lands a back suplex bringing Harley into the ring and onto the canvas as we go to an ad break.

-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-

Back from break, the Megasus regains control with a legsweep sending Cameron down hard. She goes up top but is intercepted by Harley, who gets her in a tree of woe for a dropkick. Harley hits the ropes for a headscissors into a DDT, but only gets a nearfall. Bayne fights back a suplex for a Falcon Arrow, garnering a two count of her own.

Megan gets Harley on her shoulders, climbing the turnbuckle…but Harley lands a sunset flip of sorts, rolling Megan up for a two count! She sends the Megasus to the corner for a couple hip checks, before Bayne lays her out with a lariat. Fate’s Descent on Cameron and Megan gets the cover…only for Harley to kick out!

Bayne has had enough of this, setting Harley up for a running Liger Bomb for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Megan Bayne

Megan celebrates the win as we cut away.

Backstage, we hear from HOOK and Eddie Kingston as they address moving on from Sammy Guevara and looking to get into the tag division. They issue an open challenge for the Tailgate Brawl ahead of WrestleDream on Saturday, and we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

Backstage, we hear from Max Caster and Anthony Bowens. Big emphasis on the fact the two refuse to team up ever again, and tell Tony Khan not to book them together again. They also yell at Arkady for calling them The Acclaimed, before walking off.

Back at ringside, the Don Callis Family of Lance Archer, Rocky Romero, and TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher make their way out for the main event of the evening. Out next are Mark Briscoe and the AEW World Tag Team Champions in Brodido, and with that we get this main event of the night underway!

Mark Briscoe & AEW World Tag Team Champions Brodido vs. Don Callis Family (Lance Archer, Rocky Romero, and TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher)

It doesn’t take long for us to get to a preview of WrestleDream as Fletcher and Briscoe eventually get at it, with the TNT Champion being sent to the corner as Brody King gets the tag. Triple-team situation leading to King slamming Bandido onto Fletcher, and Mark Briscoe and Bandido start doing the Macerena in celebration as we go to an ad break.

-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-

Back from break, Fletcher is back in control as he goes at Briscoe in the ring. Mark fights back to hit the ropes, and both men collide to fall to the mat. They slowly make their way up for tags to Brody and Archer, and it’s a hoss fight at its finest leading to a Death Valley Driver by Brody for a two count. Bandido comes in off a tag, but Archer sends him into King to before attacking the injured shoulder.

Tag to Fletcher who hits a running kick, and Romero tags in for a diving attack for a nearfall on the ROH World Champion. Fletcher comes in and chaos ensues, leading to Bandido taking down Romero. Brody with a senton and a Froggy Bow by Briscoe, and this is only good for a two count. Briscoe and Fletcher go at it until Fletcher lands a thrust kick on Mark, only to get taken out by King. Back in the ring, Brodido go after Archer and Romero, and they take Rocky out for the win!

Winners via pinfall: Mark Briscoe & Brodido

Briscoe and Fletcher fight to the back as the tag champs celebrate their win…until El Clone makes his entrance to distract the duo, giving Okada the opening to lay them out with Rainmaker lariats! Okada stands tall with Don Callis, and the pair leave the ring as Collision (and this 3-hour special as a whole) comes to a close.
