WWE: Then. Now. Forever. Together.

Superstar Arrivals include The Bellas, Giulia and Kiana James, Tiffany Stratton, and Kit Wilson and Jelly Roll ahead of their match tonight.

We head to ringside before going to a video package looking back at Randy Orton explaining his actions last week. He recalls what Cody Rhodes said to him prior to that, allowing him to do what he needs to do to beat Cody at WrestleMania for the Undisputed WWE Championship. We also look at his issues with Matt Cardona that same night, leading to an RKO on the man he called an “indy nerd” among other things.

“I hear voices in my head, they council me, they understand…they talk to me!”

We head back to ringside where Randy Orton makes his way out, a majority of these fans singing along to his theme song despite (or because of) his recent actions as the Viper enters the ring to take a microphone.

Two weeks ago, he stood in this ring next to Cody Rhodes and Cody said he needed Randy to be the best version of himself. He also said the fans wanted Orton to be the best version he could be. Cody also said he wanted the Viper, and for Randy to hear the voices in his head. The thing is, he shut those voices out years ago. He’s been thinking about his legacy, his pursuit of his fifteenth world championship, and out of nowhere Cody gave him his blessing. Now that he’s listening to those voices again, he needs everyone to know that he can’t be held responsible for what happens next.

Randy claims the problem isn’t with the voices in his head, it’s everyone else’s voice bothering him. There is one person outside his head that’s speaking to him…but before he can finish, Matt Cardona comes down the ramp. Orton shouts at him saying he’s lucky he still has a job with this place, as Cardona slides into the ring…and wallops the Viper in the head with the mic! Orton leaves the ring to recover as Matt calls him out.

Backstage, we see Nick Aldis talk to Trick Williams about getting a match at WrestleMania. Williams is excited for the news just as Sami Zayn steps into frame, looking for some news of his own. Nick breaks the news to him that as much of an asset as he is, unless something happens he doesn’t have a spot for him at WrestleMania. Trick feigns feeling bad for Zayn before asking Aldis about the perks of being at the big event.

Zayn starts to walk away before blindsiding Williams with a forearm, telling Nick he’ll have a match at WrestleMania, just you wait. He walks off as SmackDown rolls on.

Back at ringside, The Bellas make their entrance as they get ready to face Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss up next!

-Commercial Break-

We get some hype for WWE World ahead of WrestleMania 42 before heading backstage, where Orton goes to Aldis demanding a match with Matt Cardona, threatening to do more harm to him tonight if he doesn’t get his wish. Aldis relents to making the match, before telling Orton to cool off somewhere as we head back to ringside.

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss make their entrance to a nice pop from the crowd, entering the ring to get this match underway–or maybe not, because here come the Irrestible Forces onto the stage. Nia Jax has a mic, telling fans to buy tickets for Raw to see the champs defend their titles. Tonight you’re going to watch a bunch of wannabe contenders try their best, but they’re willing to put a spotlight on the division. Lash joins in to run down the Bellas and Charlotte and Alexa before calling for the bell to ring!

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss vs. The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie)

We start things off with Charlotte and Nikki, with Flair taking the twin down with a shoulder tackle off the ropes. Nikki sends her to the corner but is met with a headscissors forcing her to the outside. She knocks Brie off the apron as Nikki returns, landing a backbreaker to take control for a tag when Brie returns. Brie with a few shots of her own, only for Charlotte to send her to the corner for a chop and a tag to Bliss.

Double team by the former champs sends Brie to the mat, but Brie turns things around for a nearfall. Blind tag from Nikki as Bliss goes for a cover to no avail, and she gets caught in the ring apron for a Bella double-team. Charlotte comes around the ring, joining Alexa to argue with the twins as we go to picture-in-picture.

Picture-in-Picture: Nikki regains control as she goes to work on Bliss, bringing her back into the ring to work the arm. Alexa fights back but is sent to the corner where Brie tags in. Double team from the twins gets a nearfall for Brie, who goes back to work on Alexa’s arm as we see Nia arguing with the commentary team over something. Back in the ring, Nikki makes the tag to continue the attack on Bliss, who fights back to her feet before being brought to the mat by Nikki. She mocks Charlotte before tagging Brie back in, and the twins take Bliss to the mat with a flapjack of sorts for a nearfall. Brie sends Alexa to the corner for some kicks as we return from break.

Brie with a snapmare before tagging Nikki back in, and Nikki keeps Bliss away from making a tag to Charlotte. She also mocks Flair before sending Alexa to the corner. Tag to Brie and a double-team as Flair is held back by the ref. Alexa counters a double suplex for a DDT sending the twins into the mat, before making the tag to Flair…who lands a cross body on the Bellas to keep them down! Chops on both women to “woo” chants from the crowd, and a walkover clothesline sends Nikki down hard.

Suplex to Brie, and an exploder on Nikki for good measure as she kips up before mocking the champs at ringside. Tag to Bliss, who takes Nikki down for a nearfall before Brie breaks it up. Modified Hart Attack from the twins gets a two count, and Brie calls for BRIE MODE (wopwopwopwopwop)–only for Bliss to catch her with a rollup for a nearfall, countered into a two count by Brie. Bliss goes to the ropes, and the ref misses Lash blindsiding Alexa before Brie rolls her up for the win!

Winners via pinfall: The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie)

No time for celebrations as the Bellas leave the ring, allowing the champs to go after all four of the women…until Bayley and Lyra Valkyria come running down for the save! The champs are sent to the outside, with Charlotte still having issues with the twins coming off the loss as they leave the ring as well.

We look back to the WWE Tag Team Championship match last week, with the MFT’s war with Wyatt Sicks costing them the titles against R-Truth and Damian Priest. Backstage, R-Truth talks to Damian Priest about building a clubhouse as “Judgment Day is back.” Jelly Roll (whom Truth mixes up with Dominik Mysterio?) and Rhea Ripley join in to congratulate the new champs, before Roll wishes Ripley all the best on her title match at WrestleMania before he leaves to get ready for his match against Kit Wilson.

Truth follows “Dom” to talk to him some more as Ripley and Priest share a moment over their new paths. Priest encourages Ripley to “handle that Jade Cargill business” as we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

We take a look back at the NXT Origins of TIffany Stratton. NXT Stand & Deliver heads to St. Louis on April 4!

Backstage, the Bellas argue with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss over what happened during their match. Bellas state they will do whatever it takes to win the tag titles, and Charlotte and Alexa eventually just walk away.

We head back to ringside as Rhea Ripley makes her way out to a big pop. We take a look back at Rhea’s issues with Jade Cargill in recent weeks, along with B-Fab and Michin turning their backs on Ripley to side with the WWE Women’s Champion, as Ripley enters the ring and gets a mic.

Rhea talks about B-Fab and Michin being so desperate to get their hands on her before calling them out for a fight. The lights go out, and…

“A storm is coming…”

Out comes Jade Cargill alongside B-Fab and Michin, and the champ has a mic of her own. She says Rhea sounds real slick for someone who got dropped last week. They mock the crowd for booing before Jade says these two took a position of power, fumbling ever so slightly to talk about them stabbing Rhea in the back. The booing only gets louder as Michin talks about them grinding just as hard as Ripley and getting no respect.

Jade reveals that they talked to Nick Aldis, and B-Fab is ready to step up against Ripley here tonight. After a bit more arguing, Ripley calls out for a ref to get in the ring so they can get this match going, and I don’t know if I’ve ever been more glad to get a commercial break as I am right at this moment.

-Commercial Break-

We come back to the match in progress!

Rhea Ripley vs. B-Fab

Ripley lays into B-Fab with relative ease until Cargill distracts the ref. Rhea leaves the ring to confront the champ, but B-Fab smacks her around until Jade attacks Ripley. This forces the ref to call for the bell!

Winner via disqualification: Rhea Ripley

Jade and her friends attack Rhea before the champ lands Jaded on her WrestleMania opponent.

Backstage, The Miz and Kit Wilson have a talk about Miz’s issues that may or may not stem from being cursed. Miz walks off and we see Danhausen, who wants to know what “Kip” has that Danhausen does not. Kit starts to tell him he’s toxic, but is cut off by Danhausen…who lets Wilson know that he is cursed! He disappears before Kit can get another word in.

-Commercial Break-

We take a look at the fighting between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu last week, primarily focused on the apir falling off a metal structure out in the parking lot. We’re left to wonder what happened to them as we head backstage, where McIntyre is slowly making his way in.

He’s asked about this, and chalks it up to stubbornness before addressing what Jacob did to him. He didn’t come here tonight to fight, but if Jacob wants to start something, Drew will finish it. He talks about Jacob taking away everything from him…and when a man’s got nothing to lose, that’s when he’s at his most dangerous.

We head back to ringside as Jelly Roll makes his entrance for our next match. We take a look back at the slam poetry session between Roll and Kit Wilson, which has led to this match tonight. Jelly is in the ring as he seeks spiritual guidance from above before Kit Wilson makes his entrance. He gets to the ring, taking a mic to say he’s defending the honor of his mother tonight. He reads off a poem about Jelly Roll, ending on his catchphrase just as Jelly says let’s get this on…and sure enough, this match gets underway!

Jelly Roll vs. Kit Wilson

Kit blindsides Jelly in the corner before sending the musician to the ropes, but Roll fights back for a leg drop to the groin followed by an atomic drop. Bionic elbow is blocked by Wilson, who skins the cat on his way back in the ring…only to take a clothesline that sends him to the outside!

Kit grabs his poetry book before going back into the ring, but Jelly takes it and looks to use it only for the ref to pull it way. This allows Kit to take control, sending Roll to the mat before hitting him in the head. He mocks the musician with his pose before knocking him fully down. He pokes fun at Jelly some more before bringing him to the corner…but Roll dodges Wilson before landing a belly to belly suplex! Ref begins the count as Kit gets to his feet. Jelly does as well, before they trade strikes back and forth.

Jelly sees an opportunity and goes for a chokeslam, but Wilson breaks free to go to the corner…only to be dropped with a powerslam! Jelly with the cover, but Wilson kicks out at two. Kit fights to his feet for a throat punch that sends Roll to the corner, and the ref admonishes him as Jelly looks to use the poetry book once more. Wilson dodges it, dropping Jelly to the mat for another close nearfall…and the second time around, Kit is sent to the corner.

He ends up walking into a chokeslam by Jelly Roll, who picks up the win!

Winner via pinfall: Jelly Roll

Jelly celebrates the win, bringing his son to ringside before the pair walk up the ramp. Backstage, Matt Cardona shows he is Alwayz Ready as he warms up for his match against Randy Orton. Up next we will take a look back at what went down between Roman Reigns and CM Punk on Raw!

-Commercial Break-

Commentary hype up WrestleMania before taking a look back at CM Punk getting into it with The Usos and Roman Reigns on Raw. The segment ended with Punk being sent through a table, but he insists he’s not the one who needs help as SmackDown rolls on.

Backstage, Solo Sikoa apologizes to the MFT for expecting too much out of them. You know who wouldn’t have apologized? Roman. Tama Tonga is left alone as Carmelo Hayes asks him if he’s finally going to challenge him for the United States Title, or if he’s waiting for Solo to say it’s okay. He walks off, and Shinsuke Nakamura has a similar challenge to Tama before Talla steps in to check on him. They end up leaving as we cut to ringside.

Carmelo Hayes makes his entrance, ready for the United States Championship Open Challenge up next!

-Commercial Break-

We head back to ringside to see who is accepting the open challenge…and it gets a really good pop as Sami Zayn makes his way out! He heads to the ring as commentary talks about the full circle moment as we start to get this match underway…only for Trick Williams to make his entrance as well!

Crowd is vibing with this as Williams heads down the ramp. It turns out this is just for Trick to watch from ringside as the match gets underway!

United States Championship Open Challenge: Carmelo Hayes defends against Sami Zayn

Zayn takes the champ to the ropes before landing a back suplex for a two count, followed by some chops on the ropes. He sends Hayes to the mat for another nearfall, before Melo uses the ropes to get back to his feet in the corner. He takes some more shots before taking the challenger to the mat with a dropkick, before catching Sami in the corner with a kick to the back followed by a leg drop. Williams approves of the champ’s offense from ringside as we go to a commercial break.

-Commercial Break-

Back from break, both men fight to their feet for an exchange of strikes. Zayn catches the champ by surprise, sending him over the top to the outside for a dive that forces Hayes to the floor. Sami stares Williams down as he sends Hayes back into the ring, and goes up top only to take a dropkick by the champ for a nearfall.

Hayes dodges a clothesline to take the challenger out with a tilt a whirl facebuster. Sami fights back, countering a First 48 for a powerbomb and a two count. He sends Melo to the corner but the champ dodges a Helluva Kick. He goes to the top but Zayn intercepts him, and the two fight it out in the corner…with Zayn landing a superplex on the champ!

The two men are down as we go to picture-in-picture.

Picture-in-Picture: Both men are slow to get back on their feet before trading shots, and Zayn catches the champ with a Blue Thunder Bomb for two. We see Trick watching on as Zayn considers his next move before bringing Hayes to his feet for a chop, and that sends Melo to the mat. Suplex attempt is blocked as the champ catches Zayn with a cutter, but it’s only good for a nearfall. He brings Sami to the corner as we return from break…

…where the challenger counters into a sunset powerbomb for a two count! Melo has a chance to bounce back as he lands a thrust kick on Zayn, only to be sent to the turnbuckle with an exploder. Sami charges at him for a Helluva Kick, but the champ catches him with a First 48 and the cover…which gets a two count before Zayn gets the shoulder up!

He intercepts the champ at the corner, countering Nothing But Net into a Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall. Trick Williams grabs the US Title at ringside, basically giving it to Sami to see what happens. Zayn refuses to use it, confronting Williams on the apron before Hayes grabs him from behind…only to be laid out with an errant right hand by Trick!

Zayn is slightly reluctant but takes the opening all the same, landing a Helluva Kick to pin Hayes for the win!

Winner via pinfall and new United States Champion: Sami Zayn

Sami celebrates as we see a surprised and confused Williams at ringside, before heading backstage.

Jacob Fatu is asked for his thoughts on Drew McIntyre, but says he’ll speak to the people live in Pittsburgh. He heads down and it seems we’ll hear from him up next as we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

Some of the Pittsburgh Steelers are at ringside for SmackDown tonight!

Backstage, Sami Zayn is very happy with himself as he walks down with the title he just won. He asks Nick Aldis if he’s got his WrestleMania match now, and the SmackDown GM confirms that he does indeed have a match…he’ll be defending the United States Championship against Trick Williams! Sami is thrilled with the idea as SmackDown rolls on.

Back at ringside, Jacob Fatu makes his way out as we get another look at the carnage between him and Drew McIntyre last week. Jacob gets in the ring with a mic, acknowledging his wounds and battle scars from the fight he had. It all has to do with one man, and that is Drew McIntyre. He is angry that Drew tried to take food off his kids’ table when he tried to take Fatu out, asking if he thought what he did last week was gonna hold him down? Hell nah!

Drew went and did all that, but Jacob is still standing. As long as he’s got air in his lungs, he’s gonna be out here to dogwalk Drew McIntytre…who doesn’t take kindly to that as the former WWE Champion steps out onto the stage, a mic in his hand as well. McIntyre claims he’s the victim in all this, before calling Jacob a criminal. He committed the crime, and he did the time, and since he got out, he stole and stole. He stole Drew’s title, his WrestleMania moment, he stole everything from McIntyre.

This talk about taking food from Jacob’s family…that’s Drew’s food! What he says now, he says from the bottom of his heart…screw your damn kids! Aldis comes rushing out to defuse the situation, saying neither of them are in any shape to beat each other up again tonight…but he’s sure they’ll be ready to go by, say, April 18 at WrestleMania.

He tells Drew he gets his WrestleMania match as he takes on Jacob Fatu, but here’s the thing: there will be no disqualifications, no count outs, and the ref is just there to make the count or check for a submission as this will be unsanctioned! Drew is pleased with this, and it seems Jacob is as well.

Backstage, Matt Cardona continues to warm up when Karr–I mean, Aleister Black and Zelina–appear, talking about the Randy Orton of old to seemingly poke some fun at Cardona. I’m slightly baffled by what any of this means as SmackDown moves on.

Elsewhere, Chelsea Green bumps into Tiffany Stratton and tries to offer advice about taking on Giulia but to no avail. With that, we head back to ringside where Giulia and Kiana James make their entrance. Giulia takes on Tiffany Stratton in non-title action, up next!

-Commercial Break-

We head back to ringside as Tiffany Stratton makes her entrance to a nice pop. She enters the ring and this match gets underway!

Non-Title: Women’s United States Champion Giulia vs. Tiffany Stratton

After a slow start, Giulia gets the upper hand on Stratton early on. Test of strength ends in the champ’s favor as she sends Tiffy to the corner not once but twice. She then brings Stratton to the mat twice for good measure, but Tiffy fights out with a cartwheel before catching Giulia with a (whiffed) dropkick. I won’t tell if you won’t, as she ends up getting a nearfall.

Giulia leaves the ring for a breather, because being this good at wrestling can be tiring as Tiffy stares her down before we go to commercial.

-Commercial Break-

Coming back from break, Tiffy breaks free from a chinlock to land a pop-up spinebuster of sorts planting the champ to the canvas. Giulia sent to the corner for a handspring elbow strike, into a cartwheel Alabama Slam for two! Giulia starts to fight back but Stratton sends her to the ropes for a hip attack. Giulia turns it around for a two count, dropping Tiffy with a back suplex followed by the Arrivederci knee…but only gets a nearfall!

She brings Stratton to the corner now, and the two fight it out before Tiffy drops the champ to the mat. Swanton Bomb connects, but it’s only good for a two as Giulia manages to kick out. They fight it out on their feet, leading to a rolling senton by Stratton…but Kiana distracts her when she goes for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, and the distraction allows the champ to get the knees up before taking the win over Stratton.

Winner via pinfall: Giulia

Backstage, we hear from Bayley and Lyra who address taking the fight to the champs earlier tonight before challening for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at Raw.

Up next is our main event as Matt Cardona takes on Randy Orton, but before that we will see what went down regarding Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar.

-Commercial Break-

This past Monday on Raw, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman call out Oba Femi after what he did the previous week…and Oba responded by taking him down once again, to a big reaction from fans all over.

We get a graphic hyping up the Oba/Brock match, as well as the Unsanctioned Match between Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre. This leads to a rundown of other matches confirmed for the show, all leading up to Roman Reigns facing CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship and Randy Orton taking on Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Speaking of Orton, we head back to ringside as the Viper makes his entrance for our main event as he looks to get back into it with Matt Cardona up next!

-Commercial Break-

We get some hype for the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony on April 17 before heading back to ringside as “Main Event” Matt Cardona makes his entrance, ready (as Alwayz) to get some revenge on Orton as he makes a beeline for the ring…only to be blindsided by Orton with some stomps as we get underway with this match!

Randy Orton vs. Matt Cardona

He slams his cast against the head of Randy to fight back, getting some momentum before taking the Viper to the outside…where Orton strikes back, sending him onto the announce table! He targets the broken arm of Cardona, slamming it against the table before trapping it there. He rolls into the ring to break the ref’s count, continuing the attack before bringing Cardona back into the ring…and Matt fights back from the corner for a Rough Ryder!

Cover by Cardona, but Orton manages to kick out. He leaves the ring for a breather, but Matt follows him…where it turns out to be a ruse, as Orton blindsides him before attacking the arm once more. He sends Matt shoulder first into the ring post, and then slams the arm against the steps before bringing Cardona back in…and sending him right into the opposite ring post for good measure! He pulls the cast off Matt’s arm, bending his hand backward before the ref finally intervenes.

Orton brings Cardona out of the corner for a snap suplex before stomping away at the injured arm. He mocks Matt before slamming him back into the ring post, going back to work on the arm as the ref tries to get him to stop. Eventually, Orton puts an end to this in order to drop Cardona with an RKO, and stares Matt down before finally going for the cover to take the win.

Winner via pinfall: Randy Orton

Orton’s arm is raised in victory as we see Cody’s tour bus pulling up at the parking lot…and we’re going to picture-in-picture!? Wow.

Picture-in-Picture: Cody’s in such a mood about what Randy Orton did that he is slowly…slowly…making his way through the backstage area. I can only assume we’re doing this because they weren’t gonna have a super long Orton/Cardona match. Anyway, Jelly Roll meets up with Cody to say…something. I hope the international fans are getting audio from this, cause I sure as heckfire am not. Back at ringside, Orton goes after some security trying to get him out of the ring as he waits for Cody to arrive. What a way to kill commercial time…and we’re back!

Cody’s music hits as he saunters (yeah, I said it, saunters) his way down the ramp. Aldis comes out with security, though I’m sure one or two of these guys might’ve just been on Evolve…anyway, Cody ignores the GM’s pleas and gets into the ring, where he and Orton come to blows.

They take swings at each other, and the fight spills to the outside. They go at each other on the announce table as security finally pulls Cody away. Randy starts to back away before pulling security away so he can get some more shots on Rhodes, who takes his WrestleMania opponent back into the ring. Officials pull the two apart from the corner, as the crowd chants “let them fight”…before Cody charges back at Orton!

Security pulls the champ away, only for Orton to follow suit. As they pull the Viper away, he finally leaves the ring…only to send security flying over the announce table. Cody uses the opening to catch Orton by surprise, landing some shots on him on top of the announce table. Cody starts to walk away before entering the ring, where Orton comes back after him before security rushes in to break it up once more.

I start to look at my clock waiting for the top of the hour as this brawl continues to go back and forth (as there’s only so many different ways to say “they keep going after each other” lol). Jelly Roll comes into have a chat with Cody (and break the monotony of this segment), only for Orton to drop him with an RKO to the mat!

He escapes up the ramp to look at his handiwork, with Cody checking on the musician as SmackDown comes to a close.
