- The show opened with a promo from Oba Femi, who was interrupted by Ricky Saints, followed by Je’Von Evans. Saints wants a rematch since he and Femi are 1-1. Evans doesn’t want to wait until New Year’s Evil to have his match and wants to have it tonight instead. Femi eventually agreed. [When does Tony D’Angelo come out to ruin that match, eh?]
- Tatum Paxley is going to take out Niko Vance and Shawn Spears to leave just Izzi Dame alone in The Culling for her to go after.
- Kelani Jordan defeated Jordynne Grace by pinfall. Following a commercial break, Grace was upset in the locker room, complaining about how everything has gone wrong since she joined NXT and she’s not even able to beat a “rookie” like Jordan. Thea Hail gave her a pep talk about how she has all the tools necessary to succeed, but Grace wrote that off as “taking advice from a sixteen-year-old” and Hail corrected her that she’s a grizzled 22-year-old. But everyone was ready to try to answer the open challenge, so they all left Grace behind.
- Everyone came out for the open challenge, so guess what. IT JUST DOESN’T HAPPEN. Blake Monroe got jumped from behind by Thea Hail, who immediately made her tap out, but with no referee. Hail ran around, excited, and the match never started. This was 2 minutes maximum of “never mind what we advertised.” WOW.
- In his debut, Shiloh Hill defeated Lexis King by pinfall.
- Ethan Page cut a promo about how great he is, only to be attacked by Tony D’Angelo, who said nothing. [What is this episode??]
- In her office, Ava addressed Myles Borne, Leon Slater, Joe Hendry, and Dion Lennox. Since they were all tied in the Iron Survivor Challenge, they’ll have a Fatal 4-Way match with the winner getting the title shot at New Year’s Evil. Ethan Page interrupted to complain about being attacked by Tony D.
- Sol Ruca defeated Wren Sinclair by pinfall. After the match, Zaria was in the crowd and turned away. Ruca went after her. Fatal Influence came out. Cut to commercial. Back from commercial [Again, what is this episode?], Jacy Jayne trash talked Kendal Grey (who was out to support Sinclair in her match). Nothing but a bunch of “I’m going to win” versus “No you aren’t” that led to a quick fight that went nowhere as Fatal Influence stood tall.
- A video package promoted what Hank Walker and Tank Ledger have been up to. They were then interviewed and interrupted by OTM to set up a match for next week.
- Blake Monroe and Ava chatted. Monroe’s booked in a match against Thea Hail for next week.
- In the parking lot, Sol Ruca finally (how did it take this long?) caught up with Zaria. They awkwardly talked about their disagreements lately and hugged it out. Ruca wants Zaria to be in her corner for her match against Bayley.
- NXT Championship Match: Oba Femi (c) defeated Je’Von Evans by pinfall due in part to Ricky Saints pulling the referee out of the ring to prevent him from scoring a three-count.
