WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT NEWS

9/14 Raw TV results from Toronto, Ontario: The Miz & Jack Swagger over Kofi Kingston & Primo Colon; Alicia Fox over Gail Kim to win a titleshot; Shawn Michaels over Ted DiBiase Jr.; Evan Bourne & Hornswoggle over Chavo Guerrero & Carlito; Trish Stratus & MVP over Chris Jericho & Beth Phoenix; MVP, Mark Henry & Trish Stratus over Chris Jericho, Big Show & Beth Phoenix; and Batista over Randy Orton. Dark match was Sheamus over Jamie Noble.

The big news is Batista to Smackdown. It’s a move to bolster the blue roster with the departure of Jeff Hardy, the suspension of Rey Mysterio, and injuries to Edge and Michelle McCool. Randy Orton vs. Jesus Christ and DX vs. The Legacy was added to Hell in the Cell on October 4 in New Jersey.

Smackdown and ECW tape tonight at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton.

Tonight’s ECW main event on SyFy is a TBA match for a titleshot against Christian at Hell in a Cell. They had originally advertised Christian & Tommy Dreamer vs. Ezekiel Jackson & Vladimir Kozlov, but Vince changed his mind this morning.

The Hill at http://tinyurl.com/okbx4s reports that Linda McMahon is about to announce her plans to run for Senate in Connecticut. National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Ed Patru, who Linda has reportedly hired, is quoted as saying: “[Linda] is taking into consideration a number of factors, including resources and the time commitment it would take to win… She plays to win, so if she gets in, she’s in all the way. She has the capacity to bring considerable resources to the race, and she has an established record.”

Regarding Lilian Garcia announcing the Diva match as a triple threat last night, that was a bad line fed to her on purpose. Really sad and mean spirited.

Jeff Hardy’s first court date is September 30. He faces charges of felony possession of cocaine, felony drug trafficking of opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to redistribute a Schedule III drug, maintaining a dwelling for drug use and/or distribution, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cedric The Entertainer was announced as the Raw guest host next week in Little Rock.

There is a special three-hour edition of Raw panned for November 23 in Hershey, PA. All three brands will be involved.

Slam Wrestling at http://tinyurl.com/oyafef has an interview with R-Truth.

Smackdown on September 11 did a 1.8 rating.

Teddy Long turns 62 today.

The next two Legends Roundtable show filmed for WWE Classics will be Jim Ross, Jimmy Garvin, J.J. Dillon, Michael Hayes, and TBA discussing “The Lost Art of Wrestling Managers” and “The Culture of Southern Wrestling.”
These shows would be awesome with certain individuals involved.

TOTAL NONSTOP ACTION WRESTLING NEWS

Kurt Angle was back in court today stemming from his August 15 arrest and fall out with ex-girlfriend Trenesha Biggers aka Rhaka Rhan. He was found not guilty of harassment and charges of driving with a suspended license and drug possession related to two vials of human growth hormone found in his car at the time of his arrest were dropped. He produced a
2006 script for the HGH which he claimed he was using for “five broken necks.” Biggers left the court house without making a statement while an emotional Angle told reporters that he wants to move on with his life.
He said: “For eight months, I’ve been trying to get out her out of my house. Thank God. This is the way it had to happen, but I’m just glad it has. I will continue to live my life by the law, as I’ve always done, and try to be a role model in this community, and that’s all I’ve ever asked for.” Angle now faces a separate hearing next month to answer the PFA violation and simple assault charge that Biggers filed against him.

Former TNA interviewer Goldy Locks is a contestant on an upcoming episode of Ted Nugent’s new reality-competition series, Running Wild with Nugent. She broke two ribs while filming the episode which airs soon on CMT.

Jim Cornette weighs in on the Jeff Hardy arrest at www.WhosSlammingWho.podomatic.com.

TNA’s house show on October 23 has been moved to the Odeum Sports & Expo
Center in Villa Park, IL. This is the third time that the event changed
venues. The original locations were the Hammond Civic Center, Sears
Center, and the Jones Convocation Center at Chicago State University.

Our condolences to Mick Foley whose father Jack passed away yesterday at
the age of 76.

OTHER WRESTLING NEWS

I am often asked what websites I recommend for wrestling news and
gossip. The Wrestling Observer, Slam Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Torch
sites are very good, and there are lots of other gems out there too.
Just steer clear of PWInsider – unless you want second hand news and a
nasty spyware infection that will damage your computer.

Among those on board for Hulk Hogan‘s Hulkamania tour of Australia: Ric
Flair
, Val Venis, The Godfather, Diamond Dallas Page, Umaga, Gangrel,
Shannon Moore, Ken Anderson, The Nasty Boys, Jimmy Hart, Brutus
Beefcake, and Lacey Von Erich. Rob Van Dam is believed to be in
negotiations as well as a couple of former WWE Divas. Believe it or not,
they are also talking to Jeff Hardy. This is shaping up to be an
interesting tour which may lead to something bigger down the road. Hogan
vs. Flair will headline some of the shows and there is talk of filming a
reality show involving both during the tour.

Bill Goldberg has ruled himself out of the Hogan tour. He wrote on his
Twitter page over the weekend: “Zero plans to join Hogan’s Tour…..The
old man wants all the $ for himself. Plus, three reality shows on tap.”

The two lawyers that Hogan is suing for allegedly wrongly charging him
over $1 million in legal fees claim the charges are baseless at
http://tinyurl.com/nby4sc. The suit relates to legal fees during early
stages of litigation resulting from Nick Hogan’s 2007 car accident which
severely injured his friend John Graziano.

Brooke Hogan is performing at the Mid-South Fair in Southhaven, MS on
September 25 with an outdoor concert on the fair’s outdoor stage.

Former Lucha wrestler Perro De La Muerte III died on September 7 in
hospital after receiving five gunshot wounds the previous night. We have
no further details on him, other than his real name was Carmelo.

Our condolences to Ted DiBiase Sr. whose sister passed away a few days
ago.

Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin was made official for UFC 106 on November
21 in Las Vegas. Tickets go on sale Saturday to UFC Fight Club members
and then to the public next Monday. More info at www.ufc.com.

A correction from yesterday. The Fog City Wrestling event on September
19 actually runs at the Ingrid B. Lacy Middle School in Pacifica, CA.

WRESTLING GLOBE MAILBAG

When you think of the words “wrestling in Delaware”, only one company
should come to mind and that’s the Funkdafied Wrestling Federation, the
Delaware affiliate of National Wrestling Superstars.

This Saturday, September 19th, the FwF will do not one but two big
spectaculars, all free to the fans, so you have the opportunity to see
what all the excitement is about

At 12 noon, the FwF heads to Mike’s Famous Harley Davidson in New Castle
(minutes from the Delaware Bridge) as part of their Fall Open house
where former Partridge Family Star and Philadelphia radio host Danny
Bonnaducci will be part of the festivities along with Ruff Rider, Black
and Nerdy and of course the arrogant J.D. Smooth

Later that day, the FwF moves to the Towns End Town Fair and presents an
afternoon of wrestling to the fans attending the fair.

Both shows are free to the public.

And don’t forget next weekend when the FwF returns to its home base in
Christiana at the Christiana Fire Company Hall, 2 East Main Street at
3:30pm with the legendary George “The Animal” Steele making his FwF
Debut
