From Chikarapro.com: Dorado, seriously injured in the final moments of the match, was taken to nearby Jefferson Hospital, where he was examined and released about 2 hours later. He is in good spirits and recovering at the moment from his concussion. Due to the circumstances following his injury, we decided it was inappropriate for the event to continue, and the evening’s final match (Hero vs. Castagnoli) will be rescheduled as soon as possible. From WrestlingObserver.com: Lince Dorado, a young Lucha Libre style wrestler, over rotated in doing a shooting star senton and whiplashed the back of his neck on the mat during the finish of a mask vs. hair match with Mitch Ryder yesterday in Philadelphia. The crowd went silent as he was stretchered out on a table. Mike Quackenbush stopped the show with one match remaining (Chris Hero vs. Claudio Castagnoli). Dorado’s family was at the show and there were people screaming and crying backstage. Quackenbush asked fans to stay in the arena until the ambulance came so as not to impede traffic. Dorado was responsive and talking by the time the ambulance got there. He was out of the hospital by late last night after being diagnosed with a severe concussion. He is also suffering some stiffness in the back and neck. He will remain in the U.S. for a few days before being cleared to return to Mexico. The promotion announced the final match would be rescheduled as soon as possible. (thanks to Keith Lipinski) |
