In late June of this year, Evelynn Marie Biondo, an 11-week-old infant girl, was violently abused and irreparably damaged by her father, Joshua Cohen, in an incident that has left many Long Islanders stunned and truly saddened. Evelynn, who has amazingly overcome the life-threatening effects of “Shaken Baby Syndrome,” is still facing an extremely difficult road. She will need to overcome extensive neurological damage that has led to low muscle tone and retinal hemorrhages, and some loss of vision. Â
