AWF UPCOMING EVENTS – INTERNATIONAL ASSAULT 2 – THIS WEEK! 

Just sending a heads up to all AWF fans to get in and get their tickets to the upcoming International Assault 2 events. Great tickets at all venues are still available, and these shows will be without doubt some of the best AWF has ever run. 5 International Guests, plus AWF’s best, these shows will be packed full of talent, and exciting pro-wrestling action! Don’t miss them!

For fans going to the Newcastle event, please note that there have been card changes, as AWF has signed for the very first time in the world, Billy Kidman Vs “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson as a marquee match, as well as TNT Vs Kid Kash for the AWF Title, and Nigel McGuinness Vs Steve Ravenous. The remainder of the card remains the same.

AWF & WSW PRESENTS: INTERNATIONAL ASSAULT II – SYDNEY – 1 JUNE

World Series Wrestling together with the Australian Wrestling Federation (AWF) invades the University of New South Wales Roundhouse on Fri June 1st to present “International Assault 2 Pro-Wrestling – War of the Worlds!”.A plethora of pro-wrestling’s top stars will be in Sydney to take part in this 2 hour plus 7 bout super card that will feature international wrestling stars combined with Australia’s best in a show that is set to be a huge night for wrestling.

Coming from the USA for the International Assault event are five top international stars, worthy of main eventing any promotion in the world. All men have held Championships across the globe with major wrestling organizations, and they are excited to be coming to Australia for the International Assault.

The Sydney event will see one of independent wrestling’s top rivalries come to Australia, with the man many wrestling experts hail as the best wrestler in the world, “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson (USA) taking on one of the world’s best technical wrestlers, and arch nemesis, Nigel McGuinness (UK).

The Danielson Vs. McGuinness fued has headlined Ring of Honor cards in the USA and the UK, with them exchanging Championships and even wrestling 60 minute bouts. Both men are excited to be coming to Australia for the first time, and will no doubt show fans once again why they are two of the best in the world.

In another main bout, former WWE & WCW Superstar, Billy Kidman (USA) will face the in form AWF Australasian Champion, TNT (Aust).

Kidman has recently returned to wrestling action in the USA, and has toured Peurto Rico and Japan, and is eager to show fans in Australia once again why he was a former WCW & WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

TNT has been taking on all comers since defeating Cima of Dragon Gate Japan for the AWF Australasian Title in January, even downing USA’s Steve Corino and picking up the AWA World Title.
The Kidman-TNT encounter promises to be a heart pumping showing of skilled pro-wrestling that will please and excite fans of high impact, fast paced wrestling action.

In other bouts former TNA X-Division Champion Kid Kash (USA) will face AWF ace “High Flying” Mark Hilton (Aust) in what promises to be an aerial wrestling showcase.

Former Ring of Honor World Champion Austin Aries (USA) will battle “Wicked Clown” Il Cognito (Circus), Powerhouse Theo will defend the AWF Young Lion’s Championship against former AWF Australasian Champion Steve Ravenous, and there will also be 3 Way action and an AWF Tag Team Title defence to round out the card.

In addition to all this action, to put the icing on the cake, the Sydney event will host the bout to crown the new World Series Wrestling Champion, which was recently vacated by TNA’s Jeff Jarrett.

The International Assault show is set to be a blow away event that will set the standard for Australian wrestling cards for a long time to come.

Both Kidman and Hilton have finished off many opponents with the shooting star press, so in this bout it could turn into a matter of who ever hits this spectacular move first, will be the winner of the bout. This match promises to be an evenly matched, fan friendly high flying encounter.

In other exciting bouts AWF Australasian Champion TNT (Aust) will battle former Ring of Honor World Champion Austin Aries (USA), former TNA X-Division Champion Kid Kash (USA) will face Melbourne’s Mad Dog Mcrea (Aust), Tag Team action will see representing NSW, Dr Waxhead & Scotty Club ; “The Surf Club” taking on the  Victorian duo of Krackerjack & Logan ; “The Bastard Brothers”. There will also be 3 Way Young Lion’s action and an AWF Tag Team Title defence to round out the card.

World Series Wrestling together with the Australian Wrestling Federation (AWF) invades Newcastle Panthers on Sun June 3rd to present “International Assault 2 Pro-Wrestling – War of the Worlds!”.A plethora of pro-wrestling’s top stars will be in Sydney to take part in this 2 hour plus 7 bout super card that will feature international wrestling stars combined with Australia’s best in a show that is set to be a huge night for wrestling.

Coming from the USA for the International Assault event are five top international stars, worthy of main eventing any promotion in the world. All men have held Championships across the globe with major wrestling organizations, and they are excited to be coming to Australia for the International Assault.

One of the main bouts of the Newcastle event will see for the first time ever, former WWE & WCW Superstar, Billy Kidman (USA) battle “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson (USA).

Kidman has recently returned to wrestling action in the USA, and has toured Peurto Rico and Japan, and is eager to show fans in Australia once again why he is one of the best in the world.

Danielson has been touring Japan with Pro-Wrestling NOAH and tearing up Ring of Honor rings in the USA since returning to action from injury.

Both men are psyched to wrestle one another for the very first time in Newcastle, and the bout promises to be a wrestling classic that will not want to be missed.

In yet another first, AWF Australasian Champion TNT (Aust), is set to take on one of the most cocky but talented wrestlers in the world, Kid Kash.

TNT has been white hot in the Newcastle area in the lead up to this event. At Cardiff, on 7 January, TNT defeated Dragon Gate Japan’s Cima for the AWF Australasian Championship, and then on 23 March he defeated Steve Corino (USA) for the AWA World Championship. TNT has much momentum and is confident he can pull of yet another huge victory in Newcastle.

Kid Kash has been a champion in almost every major promotion he has wrestled in, and is renowned as one of the best flyers in wrestling. His dominance of the X Division in TNA and Cruiserweight Division in WWE attest to this. The cocky Kash has told AWF officials that he plans on adding the AWF Championship to his list of titles won, and even says he will take the belt back to the USA when all is said and done.

In other exciting bouts former Ring of Honor World Champion Austin Aries (USA) will battle former AWF Australasian Champion Mark Hilton (Aust), technical wrestling master, Nigel McGuinness (UK) will take on “Platinum Player” Steve Ravenous (Aust), and “Canadian Hellraiser” Jason Helton (Canada) will face “Wicked Clown” Il Cognito. There will also be 3 Way Young Lion’s action and an AWF Tag Team Title defence to round out the card.
