UPCOMING AWF LIVE EVENTS

AUSTRALASIAN PRO-WRESTLING SUMMIT

@ WELLINGTON HIGH SCHOOL

MT COOK, NEW ZEALAND

FRI 22 FEBRUARY, 2008

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) makes its New Zealand debut, bringing its exciting live pro-wrestling style to Wellington, featuring an assortment of the premier pro-wrestling talent from Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

The “Australasian Pro-Wrestling Summit” will be the launch event of AWF in Wellington, with regular shows to follow throughout 2008. AWF New Zealand representative Shanan Gough commented “We are excited to bring AWF to Wellington, and are looking to make an impact here, continuing to improve the quality of wrestling shows in NZ. We look forward to bringing the wrestling fans of New Zealand an exciting and progressive style of pro-wrestling that they can support and be proud of.”

The first ever AWF Wellington event will showcase the AWF Australasian and Young Lion’s Championship’s being defended, plus additional special feature bouts, to make the event a massive 6 bout super card.

The AWF Australasian Championship will be on the line, when Australia’s number one wrestler TNT defends his title against New Zealand’s most outstanding locally based wrestler of the past decade, D-Hoya.

TNT defeated Cima of Japan for the AWF Australasian Championship on 7 January, 2007, and remains champion to the present, defeating the world’s top independent wrestlers including X-Pac, Steve Ravenous, Billy Kidman and former World Champion’s Steve Corino, Bryan Danielson and Austin Aries.

D-Hoya is a 4 time New Zealand Heavyweight Champion, and is the most prolific NZ champion this era has ever seen. Combining strength and finesse, D-Hoya has all of the makings to become New Zealand’s first AWF Australasian Champion.

In addition to his vast in ring skills, D-Hoya will have the support of his home town fans in Wellington, and this edge could just be the difference in this battle between Australia and New Zealand’s best wrestlers.

In the “International Challenge Bout” Dragon Gate Japan’s Taku Iwasa will face AWF Australia’s Billy Flyswat in a 2 out of 3 falls bout that promises to be a technical wrestling classic.

Both participants will look to impress in their first time on New Zealand soil, and victory here will propel them up in the AWF rankings.

Iwasa will represent his group “Tozawajuku” of DG Japan and Flyswat will represent “The Detonation Crew” of AWF Australia.

In a New Zealand Vs Australia bout, Jimmy Sparx will defend his NZWPW Championship against Platinum Player JT Robinson.

The more experienced and larger Robinson will look to use his sneaky tactic and superior size to try to shock the NZ Championship away from Sparx.

The popular Jimmy Sparx will no doubt use his speed and electricity to take away JT’s power advantage, and retain his coveted NZ Championship.

The Young Lion’s under 25’s Championship will be on the line, with new champion Jay Law making the trip from Australia for his first title defense, set to face New Zealand’s top rising prodigy, JC Starr.

This bout will see two young athletes giving it their all and putting their fighting spirit on the line in a bout for the most prestigious junior title in the region.

In other exciting bouts as part of the big Wellington line up, Dan Stirling & Rehua defend the NZWPW Tag Team Championships against Axl & Belthazar, and to round out the card Platinum Players member, and of Kiwi origin, Kid Dynamite, will face the party going sensation who just returned from a successful Japanese wrestling tour, Chris Trance.

In addition to the Pro-Wrestling Summit Live event, there will be the Pro-Wrestling Summit Meet and Greet before the event.

Fans will be able to ask the wrestlers questions, obtain autographs and photos, and get up close and personal with the likes of TNT, Taku Iwasa, The Platinum Players and other AWF stars. All that attend the meet and greet will receive an AWF poster for signing by the wrestlers in attendance.

“Australasian Pro-Wrestling Summit” is sure to be huge event kick starting AWF in New Zealand, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation at Wellington High School.

We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as AWF events are often turn away sell outs.

AUSTRALASIAN PRO-WRESTLING SUMMIT

@ YMCA LYNFIELD,

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND

SAT 23 FEBRUARY, 2008

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) makes its Auckland debut, presenting live pro-wrestling featuring an assortment of the premier wrestling talent from Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

The “Australasian Pro-Wrestling Summit” will be the launch event of AWF in Auckland, with regular shows to follow throughout 2008. AWF New Zealand representative Shanan Gough commented “We are excited to bring AWF to Auckland, and are looking to make an impact here, continuing to improve the quality of wrestling shows in NZ. We look forward to bringing the wrestling fans of New Zealand an exciting and progressive style of pro-wrestling that they can support and be proud of.”

The first ever AWF Auckland event will showcase the AWF Australasian and Young Lion’s Championship’s being defended, plus additional special feature bouts, to make the event a massive 6 bout super card.

The AWF Australasian Championship will be on the line, when Australia’s number one wrestler and “Detonation Crew” leader, TNT defends his title against Dragon Gate Japan’s top rising star Taku Iwasa.

TNT defeated Dragon Gate Japan’s ace, Cima for the AWF Australasian Championship on 7 January, 2007, and remains champion to the present. Since winning the prestigious Championship, TNT has defeating the world’s top independent wrestlers including X-Pac, Steve Ravenous, Billy Kidman and former World Champion’s Steve Corino, Bryan Danielson and Austin Aries.

In June 2007, TNT visited Japan, and faced off with Iwasa in 6 man action. TNT’s team mate Lupin Matsutani was pinned in the bout, but this was TNT’s only loss in Japan for his trip, and the exchange between the two was very heated, so TNT will no doubt be looking to exact revenge.

Taku Iwasa is one of the rising stars of the “Tozawa-Juku” group in Dragon Gate Japan, and recently main evented against Cima in a heated contest. Iwasa would like nothing better than to bring the AWF Australasian Championship back to Japan and put it in Cima’s face, and become the pride of Japan’s flourishing wrestling scene.

This bout promises to be intense and hard hitting, laced with technical aspects that will make it a quality display of what AWF sets out to represent on its live events.

The NZWPW Title will be on the line in Auckland, defended by Jimmy Sparx, who will face Australia’s Billy Flyswat, in what promises to be a technical and high flying bout. Sparx has been tearing up the competition in New Zealand since winning his Championship and has faced all comers.

Flyswat is a former AWF Young Lion’s Champion, and has recently joined forces with TNT, Chris X and Powerhouse Theo to form “The Detonation Crew”. If Flyswat is successful in his quest to win the NZWPW Title, and TNT retains the Australasian Championship, “The Detonation Crew” will without question be the most dominant faction in the region.

In a huge New Zealand Vs Australia Challenge bout, New Zealand’s wrestling machine D-Hoya, will face “Platinum Players” member JT Robinson of Australia in heavyweight action.

D-Hoya is a 4 time New Zealand Heavyweight Champion, and is the most prolific NZ champion this era has ever seen. Combining strength and finesse, D-Hoya has all of the tools to qualify as New Zealand’s best.

JT Robinson is a worldly experienced wrestler that is a former AWF Tag Team Champion with Kid Dynamite, and has come close to winning the Australasian Championship on more than one occasion. His ability to bend the rules and get away with it is unmatched in AWF, and his 10 plus years in the business makes him one of the most crafty but still youthful veterans.

The New Zealand versus Australia rivalry will be at the forefront during this bout, as the loser will have to kiss the other countries flag.

The Young Lion’s under 25’s Championship will be on the line in 3 way action, with new champion Jay Law making the trip from Australia, set to face former champion Kid Dynamite, and the high energy skills of Chris Trance.

Jay Law defeated Powerhouse Theo on 19 January in Blacktown, NSW, Australia to begin his second reign as Young Lion’s Champion. Law has competed in the USA during 2007, and has firmly cemented himself as one of the top wrestlers in Australia.

Kid Dynamite is a former AWF Tag Team and Young Lion’s Champion, and one of the cockiest wrestlers in the world. The Platinum Players member of Kiwi origin, has been telling all that will listen he is coming home to NZ to show everyone how good he is and in front of family members will take the Young Lion’s Championship.

Melbourne, Australia’s Chris Trance was impressive in AWF in 2007, and has just returned from a successful Japanese tour, leading him to his first title shot in AWF. The party going Trance says he will take the Law into his own hands, and come away with the title in the process.

This bout will see three diverse young athletes giving it their all and putting their fighting spirit on the line in a bout for the most prestigious junior title in the region.

In other exciting bouts as part of the big Auckland line up, Dan Stirling & Rehua defend the NZWPW Tag Team Championships against the team of Infinate Avalanche, the sneaky Downtown Danny will battle Wellington’s own heavyweight prodigy, the impressive Levi, and the high flying veteran Skyhawk will face US trained Les Thatcher graduate, the outstanding Tommy Combat.

“Australasian Pro-Wrestling Summit” is sure to be huge event kick starting AWF in Auckland, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation at YMCA Lynfield.

AUSTRALIA’S CUP 2008

@ BLACKTOWN RSL

SAT 1 MARCH, 2008

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) returns to Blacktown, NSW on Sat 1 March for one of it’s biggest events of the year, the 2008 Australia’s Cup.

A huge evening of pro-wrestling action, featuring Australia’s top professional wrestlers plus a special Japanese visitor is planned for the second of the bi monthly events at Blacktown RSL for 2008.

The first event at Blacktown for 2008 on 19 January set the stage for the Australia’s Cup tournament, with tensions between some of the participants flaring.

Powerhouse Theo and Steve Ravenous will face off in Bracket A of the tournament to see who will go into the final. At the January Blacktown event, Ravenous and his Platinum Players associates interfered in Theo’s bout, costing him to lose the AWF Young Lion’s Championship which he had held for 10 months. Later in the card Theo gained a small measure of retribution by interfering in Steve Ravenous’ Australasian Title Bout against TNT, leading to TNT gaining the advantage to score the victory.

Both men are all fired up and ready to take their anguish out on each other in Bracket A.

Bracket B of the tournament will see Mark “The Hammer” Hilton take on the mammoth of “The Freakshow” Massive Q.

After defeating Krackerjack in the NSW Vs Victoria bout at Blacktown on 19 January, Hilton declared that he would make up for last year, where he fell to Steve Ravenous in the final, and win the Australia’s Cup, to show how proud he is of Australia.

Massive Q commented that he would be taking Hilton out, then would win the final, and would become number 1 contender, then take the Australasian Title from TNT. It would be a clean sweep, and the freaks of the world would revel.

The Australia’s Cup will be a highly contested prize, and the winner will receive an AWF Australasian Title shot at their will.

In the other headline attraction of the evening, their will be an Australia Versus Japan bout with the Australasian Championship on the line, when Taku Iwasa of Dragon Gate Japan challenges AWF Title holder TNT of Australia.

Both men are no strangers to each other as they have faced off in Japan in mid 2007, and are scheduled to battle in New Zealand on 23 February.

The bout promises to be a hard hitting and intense affair that showcases the progressive style that both AWF and Dragon Gate encompass in the ring. With national pride on the line, and both representing their respective groups, Iwasa’s being “Tozawajuku” and TNT’s being the newly formed “Detonation Crew” this promises to be an explosive Title Bout to say the least.

In other heart pumping action as part of the Australia’s Cup line up, the super popular Surf Club defend the AWF Tag Team Championships against Detonation Crew members Billy Flyswat & Chris X, Jay Law defends his newly acquired Young Lion’s Championship against Bluey Bonza plus there will be many surprises on the night.

“AWF Australia’s Cup 2008” is sure to be a top notch evening of pro-wrestling action, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation at Blacktown RSL.

We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as recent AWF events have been turn away sell outs.

“CHAMPIONSHIP CARNIVAL 2008”

@ CARDIFF PANTHERS

SUN 2 MARCH, 2008

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) makes its return to Cardiff Panthers on Sunday 2 March with a huge afternoon of pro-wrestling action, featuring Australia’s top professional wrestlers and international visitors.

The AWF will deliver over 2 hours of action packed sports entertainment suitable for all ages in a huge card that will showcase a variety of different matches, fighting styles and characters.

The Cardiff line up will showcase all AWF Championships being defended, and special feature bouts, to make the event a massive 6 bout super card.

The AWF Australasian Championship will be on the line, when leader of the “Detonation Crew” TNT, defends his title against long term arch rival, and ringmaster of “The Freakshow”, Il Cognito.

Both TNT and Il Cognito have a storied history, exchanging the Australasian Championship in the past, and have never seen eye to eye. Recently at an AWF event in Fairy Meadow on 18 January, after TNT defeated Freakshow member Massive Q, Cognito attacked his arch rival TNT, beating him down, until TNT’s friend Powerhouse Theo intervened and saved TNT from permanent injury. Cognito says Fairy Meadow was just a taste of what he will do at Cardiff, and he is looking forward to taking the championship for all the freaks of the world on March 2.

In another main event bout, it will be a Japan Versus Australia Challenge match, pitting Australia’s Mark Hilton against Japan’s Taku Iwasa.

Both men are very evenly matched in the martial arts, holding black belts and winning various tournaments. When it comes to wrestling however, the twos styles are different. Hilton uses a spectacular style, incorporating flips and high high flying, whereas Iwasa uses throws and heavy intensity strikes to defeat opponents.

This bout promises to be an intense clash of two exciting styles.

Another huge under card is planned for Cardiff, which will feature intriguing and exciting match ups such as a the Tag Team Championship’s being defended with “The Surf Club” taking on Powerhouse Theo & Chris X. There will be a Young Lion’s Title defense with Jay Law battling challenger Rob “The Scientist” Best. A three way contenders bout will see Bluey Bonza, Massive Q and JT Robinson go at it in a heavyweight showdown. Returning from Canada, Jason Helton will battle popular fan favourite, Billy Flyswat. All this plus surprises galore will round out the Championship Carnival card.

“AWF Championship Carnival 2008” is sure to be great evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation at Cardiff Panthers.

WOLLONGONG WARFARE

@ FAIRY MEADOW FRATERNITY CLUB

FRI 14 MARCH, 2008

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) returns to Fairy Meadow Fraternity Club on Friday 14 March to present its second event at the venue for 2008, aptly titled “Wollongong Warfare”.

The event itself will showcase the best AWF has to offer in a variety of special feature bouts, making the night a massive 6 bout super card that will offer over 2 hours of live action suitable for the family.

The main event for the evening will feature Tag Team Warfare stemming from January’s Fairy Meadow card, and will pit Australia’s number one wrestler, and Australasian Champion, TNT, teaming with his “Detonation Crew” tag team partner Powerhouse Theo, taking on the team of “The Freakshow” consisting of “Ringmaster” Il Cognito, and the largest man in the AWF, the 200 cm, 165 kg, Massive Q, accompanied by burlesque dancer extraordinaire, Alison Wonderland.

The tag team bout came about as a result of January’s main event which saw TNT defeat Massive Q in a grueling Title match, but was then ambushed by Il Cognito and Alison Wonderland after the bout, leading to Powerhouse Theo entering and saving TNT from permanent injury. After regaining consciousness TNT challenged “The Freakshow” to a tag team bout to set up for March 14.

With both sides feeling high levels of intense rivalry, this will no doubt be “Warfare” in the main event.

Elsewhere on the card new Young Lion’s Under 25’s Champion Jay Law will face up and comer Max Comic in what promises to be an exciting bout.

Comic upset former YLC Kid Dynamite at the January Fairy Meadow event. If lightning strikes again, we could see a new champion at Fairy Meadow.

Tag Team Championship action will see the popular title holders “The Surf Club” – Adam Hoffman and Scotty Club, take on “Platinum Players” combination of Steve Ravenous and Kid Dynamite.

After defeating the Players combination of Ravenous and JT Robinson at the January event, the Players have changed their line up to include the faster Kid Dynamite in the place of JT Robinson for this bout. This psychological change could be what the Players need to take the titles from the white hot Surf Club.

In other exciting match ups, in a fan favourites face off, Mark “The Hammer” Hilton will wrestle with the fiery Nick Ferno, “Platinum Player” JT Robinson will duel with the whacky Rob “The Scientist” Best, and in a battle of regular tag team partners Toxin & Zander Bathory of “Black Venum” will slug it out in a wild dog collar bout.

“AWF Wollongong Warefare” is sure to be great evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation at Fairy Meadow Fraternity Club.

We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as AWF events are often turn away sell outs.

Notes:

– This was AWF’s first show of 2008. Wet and windy weather outside, did not keep fans who attended from having a good time.

– The Freakshow opened the show, with Il Cognito declaring after being put through a table by Sabu last time in Fairy Meadow, now he is even more crazy, and tonight Q will bring The Freakshow the AWF Title. TNT entered and told fans he would walk away still as their AWF Champion.

– Max Comic scored his first win in AWF, shooting him up the Young Lion’s ranks, upsetting the cocky Kid Dynamite.

– Laser from Victoria made a strong showing in his AWF debut, however was upended by a sneaky pin with a handful of tights by Harry Hardshaw.

– Surf Club were super popular with the Fairy Meadow fans in their Tag Title defence win over Platinum Players; Steve Ravenous and JT Robinson

– Powerhouse Theo and Chris X had an evenly fought bout, with Theo using leverage to roll through a superplex to get the win. Both shook hands and showed respect after the bout.

– Il Cognito was more vicious than ever in his win over Nick Ferno.

– Harry Hardshaw distracted Bluey Bonza in their ongoing rivalry, which led to a “Britney Spear” from Krackerjack to earn him an AWF Title shot down the track. Afterwoods Bluey was all fired up and challenged Hardshaw to a loser leaves the country bout for the next day in Blacktown. After much indecision, Hardshaw accepted.

– In the main event TNT pinned Massive Q with a twisting top rope legdrop after interference from The Freakshow backfired. As TNT celebrated raising the AWF Title, Il Cognito grabbed him and gave him a stroke, then Q followed with a big splash. As The Freakshow continued to beat on TNT, Powerhouse Theo charged the ring, spearing Q, and getting rid of Il Cognito. A dazed TNT blocked a slap from Alison Wonderland and atomic dropped her, sending her out of the ring. TNT asked Theo to be his partner, and challenged Freakshow to a tag bout at the March Fairy Meadow event.

AWF returns to Fairy Meadow Fraternity Club on Fri 14 March, 2008 for Wollongong Warfare.

Notes:

– The Platinum Players opened the show documenting their history with TNT, stating it was 1 year ago that Kid Dynamite turned on TNT, and Steve Ravenous had his AWF Title stolen. The Players declared that the AWF Title was coming back to the PP. TNT entered and said he would keep the belt and finish taking out The Players by pinning Ravenous.

– In the Tag Team Contenders bout, Flyswat and X pinned The Freakshow with a double high flying attack on Q to earn a Tag Title shot at Blacktown on 1 March.

– After pinning Krackerjack in the NSW Vs VIC bout, Mark Hilton declared he would win the Australia’s Cup and become number 1 contender.

– Jay Law ended Powerhouse Theo’s 10 month Young Lion’s Championship reign when Steve Ravenous interfered clocking Theo with a pair of handcuffs, leading to the Law Enforcement slam and pin. An exchange of funds between Law and The Platinum Players was reportedly seen backstage. This makes Jay Law the first 2 time Young Lion’s Champion, and culminates their many month feud.

– The super popular Surf Club defeated Black Venum with the Wipeout. There were a large section of fans in Surf Club colours and streamers.

– Bluey Bonza defeated Harry Hardshaw in the Loser Leaves Australia bout after a back and forth battle. Bonza will recieve a YLC bout at Australia’s Cup.

– TNT and Steve Raveonous fought an evenly contested intense championship rematch bout. The end saw referee Erich D’Kreiger interfered with by Ravenous, and The Players triple teamed TNT, setting him up on a table. TNT’s new friend Powerhouse Theo, obviously enraged by what happened at the hands of Ravenous earlier in the card entered, spearing Ravenous, and Chris X and Billy Flyswat took out JT & Dyno. TNT set up a table in the corner and rolling kicked Ravenous through it, then Theo manhandled Ravenous to TNT, who delivered The Detonator. New AWF referee, “Little” Ben Woody, who was ravaged by the Players at the October Blacktown event while still a fan, then entered and counted the pinfall for the TNT victory, and the bent out of shape Players headed for higher ground. After the bout TNT took the mic and thanked his friends for their help and said they were forming a new group called The Detonation Crew to counter the Players and anyone else who gets in their way.

Next Blacktown RSL event is Australia’s Cup on Sat 1 March, 2008. Tickets on sale at venue now!

AWF NEWSWIRE

– AWF opened 2008 with 2 exciting shows as part of the New Years Revolution weekend on 18 & 19 January.

The events were jam packed with huge bouts and happenings and will set the scene for February and March events.

– TNT remains AWF Australasian Champion successfully defending his Title against Massive Q at Fairy Meadow & Steve Ravenous at Blacktown. In coming weeks TNT will defend his Championship against D-Hoya of New Zealand, Taku Iwasa of Japan, and Il Cognito of The Freakshow.

– Surf Club remain AWF Australasian Tag Team Champions after defeating Platinum Players Robinson & Ravenous and Black Venum at January events. February will see Surf Club face Black Venum, Chris X & Billy Flyswat and Platinum Players: Kid Dynamite & Steve Ravenous.

Surf Club’s popularity at January events was through the roof, with many supporters carrying signs and appearing dressed in Surf Club colours. AWF urges fans to continue to show great support for your favourite AWF wrestlers!

– Jay Law ended Powerhouse Theo’s 10 month Young Lion’s Championship reign at Blacktown RSL on 19 January. The result came as the “Platinum Players” interfered in the bout distracting referee Ben Woody, and Steve Ravenous clocked Theo with a pair of hand cuffs, allowing Law to hit his Law Enforcement slam to become new champion. Along the way to the title Law employed every dirty trick and legal loop hole to gain advantage in the feud, and even during the title bout he appeared to be over oiled up so Theo was unable to handle him correctly. The AWF board has ruled despite these tactics the referees pinfall is final and the title change will stay, however, excessive oil will be banned from being applied to a wrestlers body in future to avoid controversial situations and slippage injuries in the future.

Jay Law will defend his newly won Championship against JC Starr of New Zealand, Chris Trance & Kid Dynamite in 3 way action, Rob The Scientist and Bluey Bonza in upcoming defences. A rematch between Law and Theo is being scheduled for the future.
– AWF is pleased to announce the opening of its New Zealand branch, with it’s inaugural cards to take place on Fri 22 Feb in Wellington, and Sat 23 Feb in Auckland.
Mr Shanan Gough will be the main AWF point of contact in New Zealand, and will oversee the New Zealand office. Shanan commented “We are excited to bring AWF to New Zealand, and are looking to make an impact here, continuing to improve the quality of wrestling shows in NZ. We plan to run live events on a regular basis in 2008 and beyond, that incorporate the top local and international guest wrestlers. We look forward to bringing the wrestling fans of New Zealand an exciting and progressive style of pro-wrestling that they can support and be proud of.”
As part of the first tour entitled “Australasian Pro-Wrestling Summit”, wrestlers from Australia, Japan and New Zealand will be represented. AWF Australasian Champion TNT, AWF Young Lion’s Champion Jay Law will represent Australia among others as part of the first tour. Taku Iwasa of Dragon Gate Pro-Wrestling will represent Japan, and New Zealand will be represented by it’s top wrestlers D-Hoya, Jimmy Sparx and many more.
Be sure to attend these historic nights in NZ wrestling, as they will feature some of the best action NZ fans have ever witnessed, and will set the scene for future events.

– Taku Iwasa of the “Tozawa-Juku” group from Dragon Gate Japan will appear on AWF NZ shows 22 & 23 Feb, and then come to Australia for events 29 Feb, 1 & 2 March. Iwasa is known for his high impact and technical style, which incorperates many original suplexes and backslide manouvres. Iwasa will look to do what other DG tourees have failed to: bring the AWF Title back to Japan. His appearances will no doubt be worth making the effort to catch so come and support Dragon Gate in Australia.

– Krackerjack’s contenders match win over Bluey Bonza on 18 Jan at Fairy Meadow puts him in line for an AWF Title shot in the future.

– “The Detonation Crew” forms! After successfully defending the AWF Australasian Championship against Steve Ravenous at Blacktown on 19 January with assistance from a well orchestrated counter to the Platinum Players in the form of Powerhouse Theo, Billy Flyswat and Chris X, TNT announced that he had had enough, and was forming an alliance with his friends that would be called “The Detonation Crew”. TNT stated that the new groups immediate objective will be to restore the balance of power in the AWF and put a stop to the Players sneak attacks. It will be interesting to see how this unit develops and operates, as all are good friends and have worked well when together. Be sure to be at upcoming AWF events to see the debut of the Detonation Crew as a foursome.

– Bluey Bonza has prevailed in his feud against Ireland’s Harry Hardshaw, winning the rubber bout in their series, and sending Hardshaw packing from Australia. After Hardshaw interfered in Bonza’s contender’s bout at Fairy Meadow against Krackerjack, costing him the win, Bluey got all fired up and challenged Hardshaw to a loser leaves the country bout. Hardshaw reluctantly accepted. At Blacktown both men bought flags to the ring and Bonza was victorious in the end, making Hardshaw tap out. AWF thanks Hardshaw for his time in AWF. Bluey Bonza will go on to face Jay Law at the Australia’s Cup event on 1 March at Blacktown.

– Raven and TNT will host special up close and personal wrestling seminars in Minto, NSW on Sat 12 April, and Auckland, NZ on Fri 18 April. The seminars will be open to ages 12 and up, and will discuss the ins and outs of the wrestling business, give fans and wrestlers a chance to ask questions, and will go through in ring situations. The cost will be $150 each and the session will last for 2 hours +. To be part of this unique experience send an email to info@awfwrestling.com.au specifying you wish to take part and we will send along application and payment details.
