  3. The CAC’s Benevolent Fund approaches an historic milestone

CAC Logo

The CAC’s Benevolent Fund was started when Lou Thesz became President in 1993, and over the last 21 years it has given out close to $100,000, and if you would count what Mike Mazurki, the club’s founder, gave away anonymously it would far exceed that.

The club has always kept in confidence who receives the help. The last thing we want is for them to feel indebted or self conscious about it.  But it is important to note that this is not charity but a gift from your peers for the dues you have paid to the business of professional wrestling.

In addition, the CAC Scholarship Fund has given out nearly $40,000.  This also started under Lou Thesz’s leadership. It is funded entirely by donations from the members and the first priority are children or grandchildren of members.

Membership dues are used for the basic operation of the club, the 6 newsletters each year, other mailings, flowers for funerals, phone expenses, etc.  The CAC has NO PAYROLL of any kind. All labor is 100% volunteer.

The CAC has made a big difference in the lives of many people and we should all be proud of that!
