Demolition

David Dexter reports that Demolition, Ax and Smash, will be inducted into new Wrestling Hall of Fame and will appear at the ceremony in New York City!  The press release is as follows:

Milwaukee, WI – January 30th, 2013 — The Pro Wrestling Report is pleased to announce the creation of the PWR Hall of Fame with an induction ceremony to be held in New York City on April 5th, 2013. Tickets are available now at www.pwrshow.com

Today we are announcing the second inductee into the Hall of Fame, AX and SMASH of DEMOLITION! This iconic tag team dominated the late 80’s and early 90’s in WWE and have long been regarded as one of the best tag teams ever. Holding the WWE Tag Team Championships on three different occasions, they also hold the records for the single longest WWE tag title reign and the most combined days as reigning champions. Ax and Smash will be on hand to accept their awards on this very special night!

Our first inductee announced was King Kong Bundy – a man who many say should have been inducted into the Hall of Fame many years ago. Bundy has achieved so much in the wrestling business including headlining “Wrestlemania 2” with Hulk Hogan and appearing on the hit TV show “Married with Children” in the 1980’s. Bundy is referred to as one of the best “big men” to ever wrestle. Bundy will be on hand to accept his award!

The PWR Lifetime Achievement Award was created in 2009 and based on the overwhelmingly positive response that award has received, PWR is launching this Hall of Fame to recognize the legends of Pro Wrestling that have not yet been recognized by other exiting Hall of Fames.

PWR Lifetime Achievement Award Recipients:

2009: Bobby “The Brain” Heenan
2010: Demolition
2011: “Mean” Gene Okerlund
2012: Kevin Nash

This Hall of Fame will be about respect for the contributions of the inductees and will not be impacted by the normal “politics” of Pro Wrestling.

The Ceremony will be hosted by PWR Host Dameon Nelson (twitter: @dameonnelson) and will be open to the public. The Hall of Fame Ceremony will be the kickoff to PWR Weekend in New York where the Shenanigans in the Concrete Jungle Party will occur the following evening also at Hotel Pennsylvania. The Party will be hosted by Kevin Nash and will feature appearances by Reby Sky, Matt Hardy, Jay Lethal, Robbie E, Armando Estrada, Rhyno and MORE names to be announced soon!
