Sean Davis of Heartbreak Enterprises Speaks on Tag Team Scene in FIP
Jubilation after The British Lions were successfully able to defend the FIP Tag Team Titles this past Saturday night quickly turned to fear and trepidation as the champs made their way to the curtain. They were met there by Jon Davis and Kory Chavis of the Dark City Fight Club, and the team that many people around FIP call the next tag champs were out to offer a challenge. A challenge that was…and wasn’t… accepted by the champs.
Earlier in the evening Chavis reminded fans that they had beaten every team they’ve fought in FIP and that list included not one, but TWO wins over the current FIP Tag Champs, the British Lions. Jon Davis said they were demanding respect and wanted a title shot on June 26th when FIP returns to Crystal River. The challenge was immediately accepted by Tommy Taylor on behalf of the champs, an acceptance that wasn’t looked upon keenly by the rest of Heartbreak Enterprises.
Sean Davis of HBE, visibly upset at the acceptance of the match by Taylor, hadn’t yet calmed down when he called the FIP offices this morning to state that, “While I agree completely with Tommy Taylor that my British Lions are the best tag team in the world and that there isn’t a tag team anywhere we are afraid to fight. I am afraid Tommy has overstepped his bounds a bit here by agreeing to a title match with the Dark City Fight Club. You see, while Tommy is a great wrestler, he clearly isn’t the brains of this operation, I am.”
“Because I have complete control over the tag team champs when it comes to matchmaking and appearances and merchandising fees, ONLY Sean Davis has the ability to sign contracts for tag team title defenses, or make matches around here. In my opinion the Dark City Fight Club are nothing but a bunch of thugs, and you don’t get matches with the champs by trying to bully them around, and Christopher Gray agrees with me. If Kory Chavis, and Jon Davis want a shot at my tag team champs, they are gonna have to earn it by working their way up to our level. A level they are clearly not on yet.”
