  3. NECW Global Impact Results for 6/30

New England Championship Wrestling chalked up its 7th straight sell out crowd this past Saturday night, June 30th at the National Guard Armory, in Quincy, MA with a 7:00 PM bell time for GLOBAL IMPACT, an international extravaganza.

In the opening contest, The Canadian Superstars & Scott Osbourne defeated 2D Edge & Triplelicious with Natalia. The Canadian Superstars told their manager Brian Cairo before the match that they didn’t need him and sent him to the back.  Could the Candians be changing their ways?

“The Golden Greek” Alex Arion defeated “Sensational” Scott Reed. After the match Max Bauer and “The Talent” TJ Richter attempted to attack Arion but stopped when threatened with suspension by NECW Officials. Arion challenged Richter to a singles match to get his brother Frankie reinstated. Richter countered that he’d accept if the match were a gauntlet match where if Arion lost, he also would be forced to retire. Alex Arion accepted over the concerns of NECW officials.

In a World Women’s Wrestling Feature bout, Lexxus defeated WWW Champion Tanya Lee with Sean Gorman in a non-title match by pinfall with a Northern Lights suplex.  Lexxus is now the undisputed #1 contender for the title.

In the final first-round match of the NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament, New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ireland’s Fergal Devitt made his return to New England Championship Wrestling and scored the victory over NWA Australia’s Mikey Nicholls via submission in a thrilling all action bout to advance in the tournament.

Handsome Johnny took advantage of “Big” Rick Fuller’s distraction of his opponent “The Human Nightmare” Evan Siks to get an important pinfall win.

The Dynasty of Champions came to the ring for NECW President, Sheldon Goldberg’s presentation of the 2007 Iron 8 Trophy to “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards. The presentation really illustrated the success of the Dynasty as it showcased all of their titles and accolades: Tanya Lee the WWW Champion, NECW Tag Team Champion Eddie Edwards who is now the two-time Iron 8 Champion, and DC Dillinger the NECW Tag Team and Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion. Sean Gorman announced that their open challenge had been answered and to bring out Edwards’opponent.

In a great back and forth battle, “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards endured the high-impact, high-flying offense of Kid Mikaze winning by pin fall following a cradlebomb.

“Straight Edge” Brian Fury defeated “Big” Max Bauer in a hard-fought contest with a succession of superkicks leading to the pin fall.

In the main event, NECW Triple Crown Champion DC Dillinger had his hands full defending against the undefeated “Big” Rick Fuller. Fuller looked to have his first NECW championship wrapped up when he grabbed Dillinger for a chokeslam when Evan Siks’ ring music began to play. Fuller turned his attention to the entance way and away from his opponent for a brief second enabling the wily Triple Crown Champion to roll him up for a ropes-assisted schoolboy pin fall. Dillinger escaped the ring area mindful of Fuller’s presence. Evan Siks jumped the guardrail from behind the fans and attacked Fuller. From the backstage area came Fury who attacked Dillinger. All four men broke into a huge chaotic brawl that took every member of the NECW locker room, security team, and officials to finally break up. A very exciting end to an amazing night of action!

NECW returns to live action Friday night, July 20th at the National Guard Armory in Quincy and Saturday night, July 21 at the National Guard Armory in Danvers.  Advance tickets are available at all FYE & Strawberries locations and online at www.NECWwrestling.com.
