  3. Official Press Release: NWA Director of Communications named this past weekend

NWAHouston, TX – The National Wrestling Alliance has named Colby Primeaux to the position of Director of Media Communications for the National Wrestling Alliance. Primeaux had been a freelance correspondent for NWA Houston and other NWA promotions since March 2013, and has written weekly feature articles for NWAHouston.com and the new NWARingside.com websites.

Primeaux, a native of Lafayette, LA, graduated from Houston Baptist University in December 2010 with a degree in Mass Communications. While at HBU, he held the position of Opinion Editor of the Houston Baptist University student newspaper, the Collegian, as well as wrote a sports column. In addition to collegiate work, Primeaux completed internships with SportsRadio 610 AM in Houston and the Houston Aeros hockey team. He was employed as a game day stringer for the Associated Press in 2010 and 2011 covering Houston Astros home games and did freelance work for the Fort Bend Herald, covering local sports in the Fort Bend County, TX area.

“As the National Wrestling Alliance continues to grow, the need to add a media communications specialist was necessary”, said NWA Vice President Chris Ronquillo.  “Colby’s talent, work ethic and passion for the NWA were the key factors in choosing him for this position.  National Wrestling Alliance President Bruce Tharpe and I are very happy to add him to the NWA team.”

“I could not be more excited for this opportunity,” Primeaux said. “I am thrilled to be associated with an organization with such a rich history as the National Wrestling Alliance and I am looking forward to continuing to contribute to the success of the NWA, its promotions and its performers.”
