Career Highlights

Dale Pierce wrote: Jim Wright died during a tag team match at the old Phoenix Madison Square Garden in the early 1960s. He was standing on the rin apron, recovering after taking several kneedrops to the chest, when he pitched off the ring and fell to the floor, striking his head as he landed. Either the blow to the head or the heart attack alone would have been enough to kill him, but the one-two combo had him dead by the time anyone came to his aid.

Jim Wright worked throughout the USA and Canada. He was especially big in the Southwest, where he died and in the Pacific Northwest where he and his brother were a maineventing tag team. In Washington state they caused a number of riots, particularly when they took on Lou Thesz and Morris Shapiro and unfurled every dirty trick in the book.
