Career Highlights

In The Beginning:

  • Dwayne Johnson’s father is Rocky Johnson, and his grandfather is the late “High Chief” Peter Maivia.
  • Dwayne played high school football when he was fourteen at Freedom High in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
  • ~~~During his senior year at Freedom High, he was considered one of the best defensive tackles in Pennsylvania.
  • Dwayne was scouted by Dennis Erickson, the head coach at the University of Miami and offered a four-year football scholarship.
  • 1990-94: Dwayne played defensive tackle for the Hurricanes at the University of Miami and won a National Championship in 1991.
  • Dwayne Johnson created the “People’s Eyebrow” in college, where he originally called it the “Heat Brow”.
  • Dwayne Johnson graduated from the University of Miami and signed a contract with the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders.
  • Dwayne Johnson suffered a back injury which ended any chance of ever making it to the National Football League.

The Rock said he was there when it all began, when he first said the magic words that changed the English language forever ? laying the Smack Down on all your candy asses! The Rock talked about dropping the most electrifying move in sports entertainment, the people’s elbow, and unleashing the Rock Bottom, to finding a new place to dwell (down and the end of jabroni drive at SmackDown hotel!). The Rock talked about the first time he walked out on SmackDown as WWE champion and everybody in the arena was chanting the Rock’s name! This started a live “Rocky” chant that probably wasn’t as loud as they had hoped it would be. The Rock said ten years later, some guy named C.M. Punk is champion. The Rock said Punk was straight edge, doesn’t drink doesn’t smoke, and sits down when he uses the toilet. The Rock said they should call him B.M.   • March 7, 2011 – RAW: The Miz posted on his social media that he was boycotting RAW due to not getting the recognition he deserves.
  • ~~~John Cena cut a promo about the Rock (ignoring Miz) – Miz showed up and knocked out John Cena with two belt shots to the head.
  • ~~~The Miz looked in the camera and introduced himself to the Rock. then gave Cena a Skull Crushing Finale and the People’s Elbow!
  • March 14, 2011 – RAW: The Rock did a funny segment from home with a little kid dressed up like John Cena and also addressed the Miz.

  • January 27, 2013 – Royal Rumble: The Rock defeated C.M. Punk to win the WWE championship.  Initially The Shield interfered allowing Punk to win the match, but Vince McMahon overturned the decision and ordered the match to begin again.  Rock then pinned Punk with the People’s Elbow.
  • February 17, 2013 – Elimination Chamber: WWE champion The Rock defeated C.M. Punk to retain the title.
  • April 7, 2013 – WrestleMania 29: John Cena defeated WWE champion the Rock to win the title.
  • April 6, 2014 – WrestleMania 30: The Rock was involved in the opening segment with Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin.
  • October 6, 2014 – Monday Night Raw: The Rock showed up in a segment with Rusev and Lana.
  • March 29, 2015 – WrestleMania 31: The Rock brought UFC star Ronda Rousey into the ring to confront the Authority, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
  • April 3, 2016 – WrestleMania 32: The Rock was involve in a segment with The Wyatt Family. The Rock defeated Erick Rowan in 6 seconds. The Wyatt Family then attacked the Rock and John Cena returned to help out The Rock.
  • October 4, 2019 – Friday Night SmackDown: The Rock appeared in the opening segment with Baron Corbin & Becky Lynch, and lay the SmackDown on Baron Corbin.
  • September 15, 2023 – Friday Night SmackDown: The Rock returns to and dismantles Austin Theory.
  • January 1, 2024 – RAW: The Rock returns to chat with Jinder Mahal and then he calls out Roman Reigns.
  • January 23, 2024: The Rock is named to be part of the board of directors of WWE parent company TKO Group Holdings. On the same day Ava was named general manager of NXT.
