October 3, 2008 – Green Bay, Wisconsin Announcers: Jim Ross & Tazz
KICKOFF: This would be the very first Smackdown! on MyNetwork.TV after leaving their last network. They debuted a new opening theme, including a new song. The night would feature contests from all three brands including a series of unique champion vs. champion matches. Let’s get this party started!
ALL-STAR 8-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH Jeff Hardy & Fit Finlay (w/Hornswoggle) & Rey Mysterio & Batista defeated Montel Vontavious Porter & Brian Kendrick & John Bradshaw Layfield & Kane: Hurricane Helms came up in the corner of the screen and said that MVP was the highest paid athlete on SmackDown!, but then retorted “I want my money back! I’m just sayin'”…… The announcers reminded viewers that if Kane defeats Rey Mysterio at No Mercy then Rey will be forced to unmask. The all-star team of babyfaces won the match to make the fans happy!
BACKSTAGE SEGMENT Mike Adamle & Theodore Long (w/Tiffany) + The Big Show + Chavo Guerrero: The Big Show (appointing himself the SmackDown! G.M. for the night) kicked Mike Adamle and Theodore Long out of HIS office. Chavo Guerrero came in and complained about his back after being attacked by the Undertaker last week. Chavo said that HE should be charge tonight, and Big Show said it was Chavo’s fault that Vickie was hurt last week at the hands of the Undertaker. The Big Show booked Chavo Guerrero in a match tonight.
CHAMPION VS. CHAMPION MATCH WWE Intercontinental champion Santino Marella defeated WWE United States champion Shelton Benjamin: A minute into the match, R-Truth showed up in the audience doing his “what’s up” rap – thus distracting Shelton Benjamin from the match. Santino capitolized and scored a quick roll-up while Shelton was not paying attention!
HANDICAP MATCH The Great Khali & Mark Henry (w/Tony Atlas) defeated Chavo Guerrero: The Big Show came out and explained (to Vickie) why Chavo Guerrero was wrestling this match tonight.
IN THE RING The Big Show + The Undertaker: The Big Show looked into the camera and said that was a demonstration of what he was going to do to the Undertaker at No Mercy. The lights went out and the Big Show wisely jumped out of the ring because he know the Undertaker would appear out of thin air in the middle of the ring – which he did!
SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH C.M. Punk & Carlito Colon & Primo Colon defeated Ted DiBiase Jr. & Cody Rhodes & Manu:
CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TRIPLE THREAT NON-TITLE MATCH WWE champion Triple H defeated World champion Chris Jericho and ECW champion Matt Hardy: Jim Ross pointed out that Triple H would be facing Matt Hardy’s brother at No Mercy. Triple H is also best friends with Shawn Michaels, who will face Chris Jericho at No Mercy. After the match, Chris Jericho went after Matt Hardy with a ladder until Jeff Hardy ran down to save his big brother. Triple H got up and confronted Jeff Hardy, who turned and gave HHH a Twist of Fate! Jeff Hardy then climbed the ladder, but Vladimir Kozlov showed up and took out both Hardy and HHH!!
