WWE SmackDown kicks off with highlights of last week’s show involving Randy Orton against Jimmy Uso with AJ Styles returning.
In the arena, out comes AJ Styles to the ring. AJ says that Randy Orton wants Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble. LA Knight wants Roman Reigns, anytime, any place, anywhere. And he doesn’t blame either one of them. And he doesn’t give a damn about Randy Orton or LA Knight. AJ says he is number one when it comes to getting his hands on Roman Reigns, he wants Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble.
LA Knight’s music plays and out he comes. The fans chant “LA Knight” and he tells them “Let me talk to ya”. He didn’t come out to argue about who gets Roman Reigns first because there is nothing to argue about. He says after what happened to him at Crown Jewel, AJ Styles can get Roman Reigns after he gets him first. He says Roman Reigns is going to get him first with everybody saying and the fans chant “LA Knight, yeah”.
He says but after what happened last week, AJ Styles will get him first. AJ tells him that LA Knight forgot that he stepped over his body to get a match against Roman at Crown Jewel. He tells LA Knight that anyone who gets in his way, he will drop him too.
Randy Orton’s music hits and out comes Orton. He says he can appreciate both of them and their issues with Roman and the Bloodline. But Roman Reigns and the Bloodline put him on the shelf for 18 months. He enjoyed being at home but he was missing his second home which is the ring. Het ells them that nothing is going to get in his way.
LA Knight tells them that the Bloodline took AJ and Orton out but no one took him out and he is bulletproof. He says they can join him for the ride but he gets Roman Reigns.
Out comes Nick Aldis. He says this is a situation and the way he sees it, each of them has a legitimate claim to face Roman Reigns. He has decided that he will give them a legitimate opportunity to face Roman Reigns next.
Aldis says in two weeks it’s SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution and at that event, it will be AJ Styles vs. LA Knight vs. Randy Orton in a triple threat match and the winner will get Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble.
AJ Styles says he will see them at New Year’s Revolution and if anyone gets close to this ring during his match against Solo Sikoa, he will take them out too.

Holiday Havoc: Bianca Belair, Shotzi, Zelina Vega and Michin vs. Damage CTRL
The bell rings and we are under way. The fight goes to the outside but Bianca and IYO remain in the ring. Bianca with a drop kick followed by a vertical suplex. She goes for the cover but Bayley breaks it up. She kicks Bianca to the outside of the ring. Shotzi gets in the ring and kicks Bayley. She opens up a wrapped gift and takes out a steel chair. Bayley with a right hand onto Shotzi. She places the chair in the corner. Bayley goes for a suplex but Shotzi blocks it. Shotzi rolls her up but Bayley kicks out. Shotzi with an arm drag followed by a kick to the side of the head.
Shotzi grabs the steel chair and places it in the middle of the ring. Bayley is hanging on the second rope and Shotzi runs, jumps off the chair and lands on Bayley. Shotzi throws the chair to the outside and Bayley rolls to the outside. Shotzi with a suicide dive onto IYO and Bayley. Michin and Zelina get in the ring but Kairi Sane and Asuka hit them from behind with candy cane kendo sticks. In comes Bianca and Shotzi who hit Asuka and Kairi with candy cane kendo sticks. Bianca and Shotzi go to the outside and grab a table but Bayley and IYO hit them from behind. They grab the table and hit both Bianca and Shotzi with it.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, IYO with a drop kick onto Michin. She goes for the cover but Bianca breaks it up. Bianca throws Bayley to the outside of the ring. IYO rolls her up but Bianca kicks out. IYO with a right hand. She runs to the ropes but Bianca with a kick. Bianca grabs one of the wrapped boxes which was in the ring and hits IYO with it. She lifts IYO onto her shoulders and Shotzi climbs the top rope. Shotzi with a drop kick ono IYO. She goes for the cover but Asuka breaks it up. Asuka throws Shotzi to the outside. Kairi grabs a trash can lid and hits Shotzi with it. She throws Shotzi into a Christmas tree on the outside. Zelina hits Kairi from behind with a steel chair. Dakota hits Zelina with a pumpkin pie and Asuka hits Zelina with the blue mist. In the ring, Bayley throws Bianca to the outside. Asuka stomps on Bianca. Kairi and Asuka throw Bianca back into the ring. Asuka and Kairi open up two big boxes on the outside and out step Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre from the two boxes. They attack Asuka and Kairi. In the ring, Bianca hits Bayley with the KOD. IYO lands a moon sault onto Bianca. Michin with a kick onto IYO. She places IYO on a table in the ring. Michin with a senton off the top rope onto IYO. She goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winners: Bianca Belair, Shotzi, Zelina Vega and Michin
Jimmy Uso is backstage with Solo. He tells Solo he knows the pressure and when you are out there, you have to call an audible. Roman is sitting down and he asks Heyman who the SmackDown General Manager is and Heyman tells him Nick Aldis. Roman tells Heyman to bring Aldis to him. Heyman asks if he can have a moment of his time to brief him about Aldis. Roman tells Heyman to bring Aldis.
-Commercial Break-
NXT North American Championship – Dragon Lee (c) vs. Butch
The bell rings and we are under way. Butch goes for an arm bar but Dragon Lee gets out of it. Butch with a forearm to the face. Butch twists Dragon Lee’s fingers and he hits Dragon Lee with chops to the chest. He throws Dragon Lee to the ropes but Dragon Lee with a hurricanrana. Dragon Lee with a kick to the face and Butch rolls to the outside of the ring. Dragon Lee goes for a suicide dive but Butch with a kick to the face. He lifts Dragon Lee and slams him onto the ring apron.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Butch is on the ring apron and Dragon Lee in the ring. Dragon Lee jumps and lands a hurricanrana off the ring apron and onto the outside. Dragon Lee throws Butch back into the ring and he hits Butch with a drop kick. Dragon Lee lifts Butch up but Butch lands on his feet. Butch with a powerbomb. He goes for the cover but Dragon Lee kicks out. Butch with a snap German suplex. He stomps onto Dragon Lee’s hands and kicks him in the head. He goes for a suplex but Dragon Lee lands on his feet. Dragon Lee with a sit down power bomb. He goes for the cover but Butch kicks out. Dragon Lee runs towards Butch but Butch hits him with a kick to the face. Butch climbs the top rope but Dragon Lee kicks him and gets him in a tree of woe. Dragon Lee climbs the top rope and hits him with a double stomp. Dragon Lee runs towards Butch but Butch hits him with a big right hand. Butch goes for the Bitter End but Dragon Lee reverses it and hits him with a destroyer. Dragon Lee with the Operation Dragon. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Still NXT North American Champion, Dragon Lee
-Commercial Break-
We cut backstage and Nick Aldis steps into Roman’s locker room. Roman tells Paul Heyman to leave them. Aldis has a seat and Roman asks Aldis how he knew he wasn’t talking to him. Aldis tells him with all due respect, he wouldn’t care if he was.
Roman asks him if he booked the triple threat match and Solo against AJ Styles, Aldis says he did. Roman says those are good ideas and he tells Aldis it would have been an even better idea if he ran it through him first. He says he is the Tribal Chief, the Head of the Table, everything goes through him. He tells him that he needs to understand that and Adam Pearce understood that.
Aldis tells him he is an executive, he doesn’t have feelings. And as for Adam, he is more of a middle management type, he is an executive. He is the sharp end of the stick on SmackDown. And speaking of Solo, he is a big boy, he took care of John Cena and in a way that even Roman didn’t take care of John Cena.
He says he is looking forward to seeing Solo against AJ Styles just like he is looking forward to that triple threat match and he is looking forward to the winner of that match against Roman Reigns at Royal Rumble for the Undisputed Universal Championship. He says he hopes they get to know each other better and Aldis walks away with Roman fuming.
US Championship tournament – Kevin Owens vs. Carmelo Hayes
The bell rings and we are under way. Kevin Owens with a headlock but Carmelo reverses it. Owens throws him to the ropes and Hayes with a head scissor take down. Hayes with a drop kick. Owens gets to his feet but he hits Hayes with a chop to the chest. Hayes with a right hand. He runs to the ropes but Owens with an elbow to the face followed by a senton. Owens throws Hayes to the outside but Carmelo lands on his feet. He drags Owens to the outside but Owens pushes him into the ring steps.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Hayes with a body slam. A right hand by Hayes and he throws Owens to the ropes. Hayes with a kick to the side of the head. Hayes goes for the cover but Owens kicks out. Hayes with a boot to the face and he slams Owens onto the mat. He goes for the cover but Owens kicks out. Hayes goes for a suplex but Owens lifts Hayes up and hits him with a DDT. He goes for the cover but Hayes kicks out. Owens with a super kick and a chop to the chest. He throws Hayes to the ropes, Hayes jumps off the second rope for a spring board but Owens moves out of the way. Owens goes for the power bomb but Hayes with a double knees. Hayes climbs the top rope and goes for Nothing but Net but Owens moves out of the way. Owens with a power bomb. He goes for the cover but Hayes kicks out. Owens climbs the top rope and hits him with a senton bomb. Owens with the Stunner. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Kevin Owens
Hayes is down after the match and Owens helps him up and leaves the ring.
We cut backstage and AJ Styles is getting ready for his match. In comes Michin and The OC. Anderson tells AJ that they did not hear from him. Gallows asks him if they are good and AJ tells them that he doesn’t know and asks them if they are and walks away.

A Karrion Kross and Scarlett video airs and they talk about their vision.
US Championship tournament – Bobby Lashley with the Street Profits vs. Santos Escobar
The bell rings and we are under way. Lashley with a clothesline. He throws Escobar to the corner and hits him with a spear in the corner. Lashley with right hands and he throws Escobar around the ring. Escobar on the ring apron and he hits Lashley with a kick to the side of the head. Escobar climbs the top rope and jumps but Lashley catches him and throws him over the top rope and to the outside of the ring.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Santos with a suicide dive onto Lashley on the outside. Santos gets back in the ring and Lashley slowly gets in the ring. Santos with kicks onto Lashley’s left leg. Santos goes for the cover but Lashley kicks out. Santos with a double knees to the face. Santos with right hands and kicks. He places Lashley on the top rope. Santos with a kick to the face. He climbs the second rope but Lashley pushes Santos down. Lashley slams Santos face first. Security grabs someone who jumped the barricade wearing a mask. Another person wearing a mask jumps the barricade and attack the Street Profits. Lashley looks at the Street Profits on the outside, Santos rolls Lashley up and gets the pin.
Winner: Santos Escobar
The two masked men celebrate with Santos Escobar. They take off their masks and it’s Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza.
We cut backstage and Cathy Kelley is with Butch. He says he brought the fight and congratulates Dragon Lee. In come Pretty Deadly singing Christmas carols making fun of Butch but Butch attacks them both. In comes Nick Aldis with WWE officials. Aldis says he can find a tag team partner and fight Pretty Deadly at SmackDown New Year’s Revolution.
-Commercial Break-
A video package airs of Logan Paul talking about his opponent for the United States Championship. He says his opponent is a guy who cried over Rey Mysterio and the other who won’t take his short off when he is in the pool. He tells Escobar he is not in his league and Owens looks like if Reddit was a person. He tells them to enjoy their temporary clout because that is the only thing they will get from him.
AJ Styles vs. Solo Sikoa
The bell rings and we are under way. AJ with a chop to the chest and right hands. AJ to the ropes but Solo with a clothesline. Solo with a body slam. He throws AJ to the ropes but AJ with a drop kick. A knee to the face by AJ onto Solo. A kick to the side of the head by AJ and Solo falls to the outside of the ring. AJ on the ring apron and he hits Solo with a knee to the face. AJ gets back into the ring and he jumps over the top rope and hits Solo with a right hand.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Solo with headbutts onto AJ and AJ falls to the outside of the ring. Solo throws AJ back into the ring. Solo runs to the ropes and hits a headbutt. He goes for the cover but AJ kicks out. Solo slams AJ face first into the turnbuckle. Solo climbs the second rope, he goes for a headbutt but AJ moves out of the way. AJ with a forearm onto Solo. A springboard moon sault off the second rope by AJ and he goes for the cover but Solo kicks out. AJ with kicks but Solo throws him to the ropes and he hits him with a pop up Samoan drop. He goes for the cover but AJ kicks out. Solo lifts AJ up but AJ lands on his feet and AJ hits him with an overhead kick. AJ gets on the ring apron and he hits Solo with a forearm. AJ jumps off the top rope and goes for the Phenomenal Forearm but Solo catches him. Solo goes for the Spike but AJ rolls him up but Solo kicks out. AJ goes for the Styles Clash but Solo lifts AJ up but AJ lands on the ring apron. AJ with a forearm. AJ with the Phenomenal Forearm off the top rope and Solo rolls to the outside of the ring. Roman Reigns runs down and he attacks AJ Styles as the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: By disqualification, AJ Styles
Roman lifts AJ up but AJ lands on his feet and he hits Roman with a kick to the side of the head.
Solo Sikoa gets in the ring and he hits AJ with right hands. Randy Orton’s music hits and Randy runs down to the ring. Orton with a kick onto Solo and right hands onto Roman. In comes Jimmy Uso and he hits Randy from behind with right hands. LA Knight’s music hits and out he comes to the ring. LA Knight with a clothesline onto Jimmy and right hands to Solo and Roman. LA Knight throws Jimmy towards Orton and Orton throws Jimmy to the outside of the ring. Roman rolls to the outside. Randy Orton, AJ Styles and LA Knight stand in the middle of the ring. AJ argues with the both of them. AJ with a right hand onto LA Knight and a chop onto Orton. LA Knight hits AJ with a clothesline. Orton grabs LA Knight and LA Knight with right hands. Solo and Jimmy are about to enter the ring but Roman tells them to stop. AJ Styles with right hands onto LA Knight but LA Knight slams him into the top turnbuckle. Randy Orton with right hands onto LA Knight and SmackDown goes off the air.
