WWE SmackDown kicks off with Finn Balor coming down to the ring. Balor says SummerSlam season, he can’t help but think about 2016, his first SummerSlam. He says he went from the highs of the high to the low of the low. He says he has been scratching his way back to the top.
Sami Zayn’s music hits and out he comes. He says the main event of the SummerSlam should be CM Punk against Cody Rhodes against him. He says he beat Cody Rhodes in the middle of the ring to become the champion.
Finn tells him to have some respect and some balls, to come down to the ring. Zayn gets in the ring. Zayn tells Finn if it took him 10 years and he didn’t even come close, maybe he should take a hint. Finn tells Zayn it took him 10 years to even get a smell of that title. Finn tells him that he held the title for one day and had to relinquish due to injury. Zayn held it for nine days but not because he got injured but simply because he lost. Zayn tells him those almost sound like fighting words and if he didn’t respect him the way he does, he would drop him where he stands. But he won’t because he is a good guy. In comes Gunther from behind and he pushes Finn into Zayn. Gunther hits Balor with a clothesline and he hits Zayn with a clothesline. He throws Balor to the outside of the ring and into the barricade. Out comes Adam Pearce with WWE security. Gunther approaches Pearce but out comes Nick Aldis and he hits Gunther with right hands. Aldis gets Gunther in the ring and he gets him in the Texas cloverleaf. Security breaks it up and Gunther hits Aldis with a right hand. WWE security breaks it up.
-Commercial Break-
Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton vs. B-Fab and Michin with Jade Cargill
The bell rings and we are under way. Tiffany and B-Fab start the match. B-Fab with a kick to the face. B-Fab to the ropes but Tiffany with a drop kick. Michin is tagged in but Tiffany with a drop toe hold. Chelsea is tagged in and they land running hip attacks onto B-Fab and Michin.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Chelsea with a kick to the side of the head. Tiffany and Michin are tagged in. Tiffany with a clothesline onto Michin and a drop kick onto B-Fab. Tiffany with a cartwheel Alabama slam onto Michin. Tiffany climbs the top rope and she lands the swanton. She goes for the cover but Michin kicks out. CHelsea is tagged in and B-Fab drags Tiffany to the outside of the ring. Tiffany with a double knees onto B-Fab. Chelsea climbs the top rope but Jade throws Tiffany into the ring steps with the referee distracted. Michin climbs the second rope and she hits Chelsea with right hands but Chelsea with a headbutt. CHelsea with a drop kick. B-Fab is tagged in but Michin with a super kick onto Chelsea. B-Fab and Michin lift Chelsea up and slam her onto the mat. B-Fab goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winners: B-Fab and Michin
Charlotte Flair’s music hits and out she comes. Chelsea and Tiffany drag B-Fab and Michin to the outside of the ring. They hit them with right hands. Jade is in the ring and Flair gets in the ring. Flair and Jade with right hands. Flair with a big boot and Jade rolls to the outside of the ring.
Fraxiom and Rey Fenix are backstage. In come Dominik Mysterio and JD. They tell Fraxiom and Rey Fenix that they are looking for Danhausen. Dragon Lee tells him that he hasn’t seen him. Dominik tells him that he is hiding in Mexico, that’s why he hasn’t been able to find Danhausen. Dominik tells Rey Fenix that his AAA Cruiserweight title would look good on JD. Rey Fenix accepts.
We cut backstage to Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. They say that they forgot why they are where they are. That they should be going after gold. In comes Haku, he tells them don’t forget who you are. And that they are the sons of Haku, they are the sons of the m** f*** Tongans.
-Commercial Break-
Title vs. Title match, WWE Tag Team Champions R-Truth and Damian Priest vs. AAA Tag Team Champions the War Raiders
The bell rings and we are under way. Damian Priest and Erik start the match. Erik with right hands but Priest throws him into the corner. Priest with right hands. R-Truth is tagged in and they double team Erik. R-Truth with a splash onto Erik and he hits Ivar off the ring apron. Erik with a right hand onto R-Truth and R-Truth falls to the outside of the ring. Ivar is tagged into the ring. Erik with a knee to the face onto R-Truth. Ivar to the outside and in comes Priest but they slam Priest into the barricade. Ivar with a splash onto R-Truth into the barricade. Ivar with a splash onto Priest.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Priest with a hurricanrana onto Iver off the top rope. Priest with a right hand onto Erik. Priest to the ropes but they double team him. Erik goes for the cover but R-Truth breaks it up. War Raiders with right hands onto R-Truth. The referee tries to break it up but they push him. Priest with right hands. The referee tries to break it up but Priest pushes the referee away and he calls for the bell.
Winners: No contest
R-Truth, Priest and the War Raiders fight onto the outside of the ring. Priest throws Ivar over the barricade. R-Truth with right hands onto Erik but Erik throws R-Truth into a chair. Erik with right hands onto Priest. R-Truth stands on top of a table and he lands a splash onto the War Raiders. Priest with a clothesline onto the War Raiders over the barricade and back around the ring.
Out come Tala Tonga and Tama Tonga. They attack both teams. Tama Tonga with the Cut Throat onto Erik in the ring. Tala Tonga with a chokeslam onto Priest in the ring. In comes Haku into the ring. Tala Tonga and Tama Tonga grab both titles and raise them in the air.
We cut to Cathy Kelley who is backstage with CM Punk. He tells her that this is competition. They have been running from this match for some time, running from the fact that maybe they don’t have to be friends. He says it’s his job as champion to take on all comers. If it’s something he hates, great. If it’s someone he breaks bread with, he has to do it. In comes Trick Williams. He tells Punk that he should be glad that he lost his match last week because sooner or later, he is coming for that title. Punk calls him two belt Trick but he is upset that Trick lost. He says he needs new faces, he needs challengers. And when he does get to that rare air on that mountain, he is going to whoop that Trick.
-Commercial Break-
A video airs of Nick Aldis. He says it has been an honor and privilege to be the SmackDown general manager. He says but his first dream was to be a wrestler. We see clips of Nick Aldis in TNA, NWA and Japan. He says he was fine with putting that behind into becoming a general manager. Up until Gunther. He says when a man is pushed too far, he has no choice and that choice is to face Gunther one on one like a man.
Trick’s music hits and out comes Trick Williams to the ring. He has white fur around the United States Championship. He says over the past month, that big bald headed Baron Corbin decided to come back to SmackDown to hate on him. He says Corbin woke up one morning, shaved his head, polished it and decided that he was going to hate on him, on Mr. Lemon Pepper Steppers, on the anointed one. He says no more waiting, no more sneaking. He challenges Corbin to the ring.
Baron Corbin’s music hits. He tells Trick that Trick loves to hear the sound of his own voice. He says when he was away, he learned some very valuable lessons. One of them was patience, something Trick knows nothing about because they gave Trick everything when he joined. He says Trick wants everything right now and that will be his downfall. He says at SummerSlam, it will feel like he is in quick sand, it won’t be fun, it will hurt. And when that panic starts to set in, he will wrap his arms around his neck, cutting the blood and oxygen.
Trick tells him to shut up and they both know that Corbin will do nothing. He asks Corbin what this is all about. He says the only thing Corbin is collecting is his size 15 lemon pepper stepper in his ass. Trick says he wants to fight him tonight but Corbin tells him that won’t happen. Corbin says he doesn’t care what the fans want or what Trick wants because Trick is a dumb rookie who doesn’t understand. He tells that’s the lesson, patience. He tells Trick that on Sunday, he is taking that title and there is nothing in this world that Trick can do about it. Trick tells him that on Sunday, there will be no title taking, there will be 35,000 people chanting Whoop that Trick. His music hits and Corbin walks to the back.
-Commercial Break-
AAA Cruiserweight Championship – Rey Fenix (c) vs. JD McDonagh with Dominik Mysterio
The bell rings and we are under way. Both men with reversals. Rey goes for the cover but JD kicks out. Rey goes for a kick but JD rolls to the outside of the ring. JD gets back in the ring. Dominik distracts Rey and JD with a right hand. JD gets on the ring apron but Rey with a springboard kick and JD falls to the outside of the ring. Rey to the outside but JD gets on the ring apron and lands a springboard moon sault.
-Commercial Break-
Back from commercial, Rey with a spring board cross body. He grabs JD and lands a brain buster. Rey goes for the cover but JD kicks out. Rey with a cutter. He runs to the ropes but JD with a Spanish fly. He goes for the cover but Rey kicks out. JD throws Rey to the ropes but Rey with a super kick. Rey climbs the second rope but Dominik gets on the ring apron. That distracts Rey and JD trips Rey up. The referee kicks Dominik away from ring side. Dominik begins walking away and Danhausen’s music hits. The lights go out and out comes Danhausen. Dominik hits him with a right hand. Out come little Hausen’s. They begin hitting Dominik and he runs to the back.
In the ring, Rey with the adios amigo kick. Rey with the double knees. He places JD on the top rope and Rey with the Mexican Muscle Buster. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Still AAA Cruiserweight Champion, Rey Fenix

Qualifying match for Interim Women’s Championship Ladder Match – Giulia vs. Lash Legend
The bell rings and we are under way. Giulia to the ropes and she lands a modified octopus hold but Legend slams Giulia onto the mat. She goes for the cover but Giulia kicks out. She grabs Giulia but Giulia with a knee to the face. She goes for the cover but Legend kicks out. Giulia grabs Legend but Legend throws her to the ropes and Giulia with a guillotine. Legend gets out of it. She lifts Giulia and lands the Lash Extension. She goes for the cover and gets the pin.
Winner: Lash Legend
-Commercial Break-
Cody’s music hits and as he is coming down to the ring, Punk’s music hits and he walks passed him. Punk tells Cody that doesn’t feel good does it. Cody says Punk knows him but he knows Punk and he sees through him. He says Punk had to know they were on this path, that they are not running away from each other but towards each other.
Punk asks the fans if it’s great to be alive on a Friday night in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He says did he know he was going to ruffle some feathers, he did. But did he want to cry about how it’s always the same four people as champion or cry like Sami Zayn. He says he is CM Punk, he gets asked to show up for a title shot in Chicago, he will show up. And he hopes it angers people, he ruffles feathers, it’s what he has done 20 years and for those 20 years, he was gone for 10 of them. He says to start talking about what it is about and it is about the title. He says he doesn’t have to be his friend tonight or tomorrow. But he has to know who the better wrestler is between them for business purposes.
Cody says they got off the wrong foot. He asks the fans what they want to talk about. He says he believes Punk said business purposes. He says it sounds like CM Punk double talk which he knows really well. But this is not business, this is personal. It’s personal to every one who has and hasn’t won the title. He says the title means you are the best in the world, the crown, you are the king, you call the shots. But to correct him if he is wrong, Punk is the one that said you’re not here to make friends, you’re here to make money. Punk says he didn’t come back to make friends or lose friends but if it comes to losing a friend or losing a title, tomorrow will not be Cody’s night. Cody says there is a word that is really bothering him and that is the word tomorrow. He says Punk made it clear what he is prepared to do tomorrow night. And he already asked what they want to talk about, he should ask Punk what Punk wants to do about it tonight.
Punk takes the title off and removes his jacket. Cody throws the microphone and takes his jacket off. Punk tells him to hit him. Cody looks at Punk and he hits Punk with a right hand. Punk with a right hand. He throws Cody to the ropes and Cody with a clothesline. Cody with a clothesline and Punk to the outside of the ring. Cody clears the announce table. Punk throws Cody over the announce table. Punk on the announce table but Cody trips him up. Punk trips him up. Punk with right hands but Cody with right hands. Out come WWE officials and they break it up. Punk gets on the announce table and Cody gets on the announce table. Cody with right hands and Punk with right hands, WWE officials break it up and SmackDown goes off the air.
