We see Tony Nese, Zack Sabre Jr., and Drew Gulak watching the opening match from the front row.
Match Number One: Hideo Itami versus Sean Maluta
They lock up and Itami with a side head lock. Maluta with forearms and Itami with a shoulder tackle. Maluta with a back elbow but Itami with a knee to the midsection followed by a kick to the chest. Itami with a snap mare and kick to the back. Itami pulls down the knee pad and he leaps over Maluta and back kicks Maluta in the head. Maluta sends Itami into the turnbuckles and Maluta punches Itami. Itami with an Irish whip and Maluta with a kick and Codebreaker from the turnbuckles for a near fall. Maluta punches Itami a few times.
Maluta with a diving head butt for a near fall. Maluta with a kick to the back and a body scissors. Itami with elbows to Maluta to get out of the hold. Maluta with kicks to the chest but Itami gets in Maluta’s face. Maluta with forearms. Itami with clotheslines and then he hits a dragon screw leg whip. Itami with a running boot in the corner. Itami with slaps and a back heel kick that sends Maluta into the corner. Itami with a hesitation drop kick into the corner. Itami hits the flying knee for the three count.
Winner: Hideo Itami
Tom tells us that Asuka will be in action tonight.
We go to commercial.
We see what happened to American Alpha two weeks ago.
Andrea D’Marco is in the back with Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. She asks if there is any pressure on them. Dash says it is scientifically proven they are the best tag team. Scott says that putting a pretty sticker on a Stratus does not make it a Ford Bronco. They are the best tag team on the planet.
TM61 show up and they say that a planet is a big place. They make a challenge for the titles against the Revival.
Dash tells them they make the rules and tell them to go to the back of the line.
Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa show up and Johnny says they have a ticket that says number one on it so they are at the front of the line. Tommaso says the Revival don’t want to face them. Johnny and Tommaso say top guys don’t get scared.
Scott says they already promised TM61 an opportunity to face the Revival, so you four can converse among yourselves because they are out.
Match Number Two: Mojo Rawley versus Chris Atkins
They lock up and Rawley with a pounce but Samoa Joe attacks Mojo and the referee calls for the bell.
After the match, Joe sends Atkins to the floor. Joe attacks Mojo with punches and sends him to the floor.
Joe says that since Regal will not consult with him about his number one contender, he will not consult with Regal when he wants to rampage on his show. At Takeover in Brooklyn, he will destroy Shinsuke Nakamura.
Mojo attacks Joe from behind and officials tell Mojo to get hyped outside the ring.
Joe attacks Mojo from behind on the ramp. Joe punches Mojo and then he chokes Mojo. Joe releases the hold and then he kicks Mojo before referees seem to have regained control of the situation.
Andrea asks Bayley about her match with Asuka and how she is going to prepare. Bayley says she is not the same person since Dallas and that is a good thing. She has been pushed and pushed so she needs to adapt. She has been watching Asuka and she is ready to win her title back.
Asuka shows up and she tells Bayley if she thinks she is ready, she can come watch.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Bayley makes her way to the announce table to watch Asuka’s match.
Before the bell rings, Asuka gets a seat and puts it at ringside for Bayley to get a closer look at the match. Bayley throws the chair away and stands.
Match Number Three: Asuka versus Aliyah
Asuka with a snap mare and kick to the back. Asuka with another kick. Aliyah with forearms but Asuka with forearms of her own that stagger Aliyah. Asuka with a running hip attack. She follows with more hips to the head. Asuka kicks Aliyah against the ropes and she connects with a series of strikes. Asuka with an Octopus in the ropes while staring at Bayley. Asuka with a running hip to the back but she runs into boots from Aliyah. Aliyah comes off the ropes and Asuka with a kick. Asuka with a knee to cover and she pulls Aliyah up. Asuka with kicks to Aliyah.
Asuka with the Asuka Lock and Aliyah taps out.
After the match, Asuka refuses to release the hold until Bayley comes into the ring.
We see footage of Oney Lorcan defeating Tye Dillinger last month.
We go to comments from Oney after the win. He says it was not really an upset. The competition in NXT is only going to get better and stronger. He says he has to go back to where he started. If he wants to hang with the best that NXT has to offer, he has to go back to his roots.
We go to commercial with an Ember Moon video package showing her debut on August 20th.
Bobby Roode makes his way to the ring and he has something to say.
Bobby says the wait is finally over. Bobby Roode is N-X-T. Bobby says he got to sit in the front row at Takeover in Dallas. He says he cannot talk about the emotions of that. There were 10,000 fans and it was Wrestlemania weekend. He says he knew that NXT was the perfect place for him. There has never been another company or brand that has revolutionized this industry like NXT has.
Bobby says he has heard the phrase “We are NXT”. Bobby says that all of you are also NXT. Bobby says they are all NXT. To take NXT to that next level, that is where he comes in. Let’s face it, NXT needs Bobby Roode. All of you need Bobby Roode. The NXT Universe has been searching the world for a superstar. A Superstar to expand the brand and make it a global power house. He is proud to tell everyone that they have found that superstar and that superstar is Bobby Roode.
Now that they have found that man, his image and his face will be on billboards in Times Square. He will be on commercials and ads for this company. He says he will take it to the next level. He will make this place a better place. He says he will look around this place and see faces of presidents and vice presidents. He will see executives. He will not see you idiiots in your oversized shirts and cargo pants with your stupid chants.
Bobby says he is a Superstar, not because of what he has done in his career. He dresses like a superstar. He wears custom made suits and fancy shoes. He is a superstar. Whether you like it or not, there has never been anyone anywhere or anyplace as glorious as Bobby Roode. This is the new NXT and he is at the helm. From this moment forward, NXT will be GLORIOUS.

We are back and the contract signing for the Women’s Title Match will take place next week.
Match Number Four: Shane Thorne and Nick Miller versus Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder in a Non Title Match
Miller and Dawson start things off and Dawson with a take down but Miller with a reversal and Dawson gets to the ropes. Dash and Scott talk strategy. Dawson with a wrist lock and Miller with a reversal. Thorne tags in and works on the arm. Miller gets a near fall. Thorne tags in and gets a near fall. Thorne with an arm bar into a wrist lock. Thorne kicks Wilder’s arm away to stop the tag but Dawson pulls Thorne down by the hair and Wilder tags in and connects with a forearm to teh back and a European uppercut.
Wilder wtih a chop and he sends Thorne into the turnbuckles. Dawson tags in and kicks and punches Thorne. Wilder tags in and Dawson with a forearm. Wilder with an Irish whip but Thorne floats over and hits a few drop kicks to Wilder and one to Dawson. Miller comes in and Dawson and Wilder with forearms to the back but TM61 with stereo back body drops and we go to commercial.
We are back and Dawson works on Thorne’s arm and he hits a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall. Wilder tags back in and gets a near fall. Wilder with a snap mare and arm bar. Wilder with a double sledge to teh back and he sends Thorne into the turnbuckles. Dawson tags in and he hits a drop kick as Thorne tries to make the tag and Dawson gets a near fall. Dawson with an arm bar. Dawson with a back elbow and he tags in Wilder. Wilder goes to the turnbuckles but Thorne gets his feet up and he sends Wilder into the turnbuckles. Dawson tags in and so does Miller. Miller with forearms to Dawson and then he knocks WIlder off the apron. Miller with belly-to-back suplexes. Miller with splashes to both men and Miller with an O’Connor Roll for a near fall. Miller with a spinebuster for a near fall.
Wilder pulls Thorne off the apron and Miller follows after him. Miller gets back into the ring and Dawson with a DDT for the three count.
Winners: Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder
After the match, Dawson and Wilder have something to say. Dawson says it does not matter what part of the world you come from. They talk heavy and hit hard. This is the big leagues. They are the big leagues and they are the top guys here in NXT. Wilder says they beat TM61, The Vaudevillains, American Alpha.
Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano come out and Tommaso wants Ole or is it Arn, to calm down.
Johnny says you are dropping the names of a lot of teams they have beaten, but they will pick them up. American Alpha are impressive. The Hollywood Blondes. You are much older than they thought. Tommaso mentions Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Johnny mentions Pikachu and Charmander.
Tommaso asks Johnny if he has collected them all. Johnny says the only thing he is worried about collecting now is the NXT Tag Team Championships. Johnny says you can drop all of the names you want, but the one name you haven’t dropped is Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano.
Dawson asks if we are done with comedy hour, the two time NXT Tag Team Champions would like to talk. What you are saying is words. What they have means more than that. Dash tells the nerds to go back to their basements.
Dawson and Wilder start to walk away but they try to attack Gargano and Ciampa. They send Dawson to the floor and then Ciampa hits a running knee to Wilder and then they hit a double running knee combination and Gargano makes the symbolic cover.
