RING OF HONOR STARS DAVEY RICHARDS, KYLE O’REILLY ADDED TO NASHVILLE EVENT MAY 24.

Two of the world’s most hard-hitting and top-ranked professional wrestling superstars will make a long-anticipated return to Nashville on Friday, May 24.

Davey Richards and Kyle O’Reilly, whose fast-paced style launched them both to championship levels with Ring of Honor, will debut with Nashville Pro Wrestling as part of a special event May 24 at the Old Hickory Community Center.

Richards, a former ROH world champion from Othello, Wash., will face Yaden Matthews of Mansfield, Ohio, in what’s expected to be one of Tennessee’s most intense and most physical matchups of the year. Richards was ranked No. 7 on Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s list of the top 500 wrestlers in the world in 2012, his highest ranking on the list.

O’Reilly, a current ROH tag team champion from Vancouver, B.C., Canada, will face Antonio Garza (Mexico City, Mexico) and Reed Bentley (Georgetown, Ky.) in a three-man Flightweight Cup qualifying match. The winner will earn an automatic spot in the year-end Flightweight Cup, a one-night tournament to showcase nine of the world’s most athletic, high-flying, cruiserweight-style wrestlers.

Richards and O’Reilly regularly appear as part of the weekly ROH television broadcast, which airs in Nashville on WUXP MYTV-30 and WZTV Fox-17. The May 24 appearance is Richards’ first in Nashville since 2008, and it’s the first for O’Reilly.

Other matches on the May 24 card will spotlight wrestling athletes locally and from across the U.S., including Christian Rose, Prada and Revick Hollistar, Matt Cage, Dyron Flynn, Brandon Espinosa, Shawn Hoodrich, J.J. Garrett, Danny Todd, Darren Dean, Aaron Solo, Alex Castle, Team IOU’s Nick Iggy and Kerry Awful, and more.

Doors will open at 6:30, followed at 7 by a special preshow performance by Nashville solo recording artist Austin Moody (www.AustinMoody.net). Wrestling will begin at 7:30. Tickets are available at the door for $8 (general admission) and $12 (ringside).

Old Hickory Community Center is located at 1050 Donelson Avenue, just minutes east of downtown Nashville.
