The Bowie Baysox announce today Legends of Wrestling Night at Prince George’s Stadium Wednesday, Aug. 20, as the team takes on the Reading Fightin Phils at 6:35 p.m. The event features a special appearance by six-time WWF/WCW World Champion and former Olympic Gold Medalist wrestler Kurt Angle. Fresh off his appearance in Sharknado 2, Angle will throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the game and sign autographs and pose for photos with fans during the game.

Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye looks forward to the event. “Over the past few seasons, our Legends of Wrestling event has enabled fans to meet legends of the squared circle like Kevin Nash, Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart and Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler,” Wrye said. “Not only is Kurt Angle a great wrestler, but he is also an Olympic Gold Medalist and we are excited to be able to bring him to Bowie.”

Currently under contract with TNA Wrestling, Angle originally joined the WWF in 1998 after winning a gold medal in heavyweight freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, Ga. Over the last 15 years, he has become one of the most decorated professional wrestlers in the business.
