AWF WRESTLING

“ALL PUMPED UP & READY TO GO!”

@ CARDIFF PANTHERS

FRIDAY 24 AUGUST, 2007

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) makes its return to Cardiff Panthers and is “All Pumped Up and Ready To Go!” for Friday 24th August with a huge evening of pro-wrestling action, featuring Australia’s top professional wrestlers and international visitors.

The AWF will deliver 2 1/2 hours of action packed sports entertainment suitable for all ages in a huge card that will showcase a variety of different matches, fighting styles and characters.

The Cardiff line up will showcase all AWF Championships being defended, and special feature bouts, to make the event a massive 8 bout super card.

The AWF Australasian Championship will be on the line, when Sydney’s TNT, defends his title against New Zealand’s premier pro-wrestler, Mana “The Polynesian Warrior”.

TNT has been on an undefeated streak, defeating the world’s best as AWF Australasian Champion. On 8 July at Cardiff Panther’s he impressively defeated Japan’s Ryo Saito, and announced that he would defeat New Zealand’s Mana, proving he truly is the best wrestler in Australasia.

Mana has been in the USA wrestling the likes of Sabu and Tommy Dreamer, and will make his AWF debut in Cardiff. Mana is known for his tribal face paint, war dance and hardcore wrestling style, and has earned an AWF Championship shot due to his tremendous track record.

Both men’s impressive recent form, experience and world travelled credentials shall make this an exciting and heart pounding title bout.

In the other singles title bout on the card, Powerhouse Theo will defend his Young Lion’s Championship against Newcastle area’s very own, “Dr Waxhead” Adam Hoffman.

Hoffman won the chance to face Theo at the July 8 Cardiff event when he defeated 3 other under 25 year old contender’s to gain the title shot.

Theo has been facing all that the Young Lion’s division can throw at him, taking on all comers, and defeating them soundly.

The Hoffman versus Theo clash could come down to hometown support in the end. If the enthusiastic Cardiff crowd can get behind Hoffman enough, they may just see their first home town AWF Champion.

Another huge under card is planned for Cardiff, which will feature intriguing and exciting match ups such as a The Tag Team Championship’s being defended with “The Platinum Players” Kid Dynamite & JT Robinson taking on Chris X & Massive Q. Three way contenders bout will see Harry Hardshaw, Steve Ravenous & Taipan go at it in a heavyweight showdown. Returning from Canada, Jason Helton will battle the AWF enforcement of Jay Law. Party goer Scotty Club will face off with unpopular clown, Il Cognito. There will also be a three way match featuring Bluey Bonza, Rob The Scientist & Zander Bathory, plus rounding out the card will see singles action pitting “Raging” Nick Ferno against newcomer, the punk like tiger, Mike Vandall.

“AWF All Pumped up & Ready to Go!” is sure to be great evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation at Cardiff Panthers.

We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as recent AWF events have been turn away sell outs. Tickets on sale now at the club.

ALL PUMPED UP & READY TO GO

@ BLACKTOWN RSL

SAT 25 AUGUST, 2007

The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) makes its return to Blacktown RSL Club and is “All Pumped Up and Ready To Go!” for Saturday 25 August with a huge evening of pro-wrestling action, featuring Australia’s top professional wrestlers and international visitors.

The third event at Blacktown for the 2007 will showcase all AWF Championships being defended, and special feature bouts, to make the event a massive 7 bout super card.

The AWF Australasian Championship will be on the line, when Sydney’s TNT, defends his title against, “The Butcher of Beirut”, Lebanon’s Lebo Ceda.

Ceda has been undefeated for months in the AWF, cheating and defeating all comers. At Penrith on 6 July, Ceda downed Massive Q to become number 1 contender for the AWF Championship.

TNT has also been on an undefeated streak, defeating the world’s best, and recently returned from a successful tour of Japan.

Both men’s form will make this a very evenly fought bout. Ceda will definitely have the size advantage, TNT the experience advantage. It will no doubt make for an exciting and unpredictable bout.

In another main event “Platinum Player” Steve Ravenous of Blacktown will face the challenge of New Zealand’s premier pro-wrestler, Mana “The Polynesian Warrior”.

Ravenous has been wrestling the best in the AWF and leading his gang of thugs, “The Platinum Players” to victory across Australia.

Mana has been in the USA wrestling the likes of Sabu and Tommy Dreamer, and will make his Sydney debut at Blacktown. Mana is known for his crazy anything goes style of wrestling, and will excite fans with his tribal face paint, war dance and hardcore wrestling style.

This will be a hard hitting bout between two heavyweights looking to gain future Championship shots.

Another huge under card is planned which will feature intriguing and exciting match ups such as a 4 Way Contender’s Bout pitting Jay Law, Mark Hilton, Il Cognito & Billy Flyswat against each other. The Young Lion’s Championship bout will see Powerhouse Theo defend against the lethal Toxin. The Tag Team Championship’s will be on the line also with “The Platinum Players” Kid Dynamite & JT Robinson defending against “The Surf Club” Adam Hoffman & Scotty Club. There will also be a three way “Australian Rules” match featuring Bluey Bonza, The Captain & Jimmy Daniels, plus singles action pitting the muscular Taipan against newcomer, the punk like tiger, Mike Vandall.

“AWF All Pumped up & Ready to Go!” is sure to be great evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australasian Wrestling Federation at Blacktown RSL.

We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as recent AWF events have been turn away sell outs.

Attendence: 250

Results:

Billy Flyswat b Jay Law, Mike Burr & Cletus Blood b Chris Trance & Champaign Pyro, Spike Steele b Jay Andrews & Mad Dog Mcrea, Billy Kidman b Steve Ravenous, Young Lion’s Title: Powerhouse Theo b Slex, AWF Tag Titles: JT Robinson & Kid Dynamite b Krackerjack & Logan, AWF Title: TNT b Lee Starr, Masato Tanaka b Steve Corino

Notes:

-         Disappointingly small, but sometimes vocal crowd at the classy MSAC venue.

-         All AWF titles were successfully defended.

-         Champaign Pyro made his AWF debut, and turned 18 a few days earlier.

-         Slex was all riled up after his Young Lion’s loss to Powerhouse Theo, and will take time off for a world trip that will include USA and Europe.

-         Lee Starr returned to wrestling after a stint honoing his craft with Lance Storm in Canada. He was unsuccessful in his bid at the AWF Title against TNT.

-         Miss Bo was in the corner of Steve Corino for the main event, and interfered many times, ultimately backfiring, causing Corino to be set up for a short stiff running forearm whilst down to lead to the pin.

– AWF will return to Melbourne later in 2007.

AWF Global Attack Sydney
Sun 12 August, 2007

UNSW Roundhouse

Kensington, NSW

Attendence: 150

Young Lion’s Title: Powerhouse Theo b Harry Hardshaw, Steve Ravenous b Massive Q, Il Cognito b Jay Law b Billy Flyswat, AWF Title: TNT NC Masato Tanaka, AWF Tag Titles: JT Robinson & Kid Dynamite b Bluey Bonza & The Captain, Lebo Ceda b Mark Hilton, Billy Kidman b Steve Corino

Notes:

-         Disappointingly small, but animated crowd.

-         Powerhouse Theo was successful in downing Ireland’s Harry Hardshaw in strong fashion, bringing his young Lion’s reign up to five months at the next event.

-         Il Cognito’s 3 way victory put him back in the winners circle and rankings contention.

-         In the TNT Vs Tanaka bout, after an evenly fought AWF Australasian Title match, both men were down, allowing Steve Corino to enter and interfere using a chain on both men causing the no contest. Billy Kidman stormed the ring and made the save for TNT & Tanaka, wielding a chair.

-         Lebo Ceda upset Mark Hilton pinning him, after his Leb 5. Ceda spoke on the mic for the first time ever, and shouted that he would take the AWF Title at Blacktown. Hilton’s ankle was injured during the bout and was swollen up afterwoods.

-         In the main event, Billy Kidman pinned Steve Corino. After much cheating from Corino & Miss Bo, TNT came out to protest and distracted the referee, allowing Masato Tanaka to score a roaring elbow, and Kidman a BK bomb leading to the pin. Kidman, TNT & Tanaka celebrated afterwoods.

– Next AWF Sydney event is Blacktown RSL on 25 August, headlined by AWF Title bout: TNT Vs Lebo Ceda, Steve Ravenous Vs Mana, AWF Tag Titles: Platinum Players Vs Surf Club, and YLC: Powerhouse Theo Vs Toxin.
